27/02/2026: After a stop at the Bagni di San Filippo with my family (there were four of us), we relied partly on chance and partly on reviews and chose Parallelo for lunch. The atmosphere was simple, the service attentive and friendly. Everything was truly delicious! The onion corton was amazing: we asked for seconds.

01/01/2026: A pleasant return to a historic restaurant for those like me who live near the Val d'Orcia. The restaurant's name, "Parallel," comes from the fact that right where it is located, we can see the sign for the imaginary line of the 43rd parallel. We had a quick and simple meal; we were just passing through. As an appetizer, a lovely crouton with porcini mushrooms and pecorino cheese was delicious, followed by two gnocchi with ragù. Everything was cooked the old-school way, it couldn't have been otherwise. Nothing has changed from the past; it's a long-standing fixture, and we're happy with it. The coffee was really good, and as the owner says, the powders make the difference. Amaro was offered! We really enjoyed it. See you next time.

02/11/2025: We had reserved a table for two in advance. We arrived on time, but we didn't get a table. We were repeatedly put off until, after waiting for over half an hour, we left. Absolutely unacceptable. If you don't have any tables available, you don't give them out, and you don't give reserved tables to other customers. Not recommended.

08/11/2025: Amazing place, absolutely recommended. Pure local vibe, great wine and beer, and of course amazing food. I had a Zuppa di Funghi and Pici Ragu Cinghiale, which both were fabulous. The owner was very pleasant as well. As a bonus, one can visit the local Bagni San Filippo before the dinner. Thank you!

18/01/2026: Charming, almost uninhabited village, but there is a good pizzeria restaurant adjacent to the hotel. The rooms on the return are clean and quite large. The owners are friendly and very kind. The continental breakfast is standard.

09/03/2026: A few days ago, on the first day of our holiday in the Val d'Orcia, we dined at this osteria located in Poggio Rosa, about 3 km from Castiglione d'Orcia. A rustic and simple restaurant, it offers traditional Tuscan cuisine. From a good wine list, we chose a Dirimpettaio Orcia Riserva 2022, a full-bodied Sangiovese. Their specialty, however, is the Florentine steak, grilled by the owner. The meat was excellent, perfectly rare; we ordered the minimum cut, 1.5 kg, accompanied by beans al fiasco (flask-cooked beans) and roast potatoes. Naturally, already full, we moved straight on to dessert: classic cantucci with Vin Santo and ricotta with honey. Water and coffee rounded out the meal, bringing the bill to €160 for two (€102 for the Florentine steak alone; the price of €6.80/hg is perhaps a bit higher than the average for other restaurants in the area...). A highly recommended place.

01/01/2026: Fantastic experience! Small, welcoming place, the owner Marcello seems like a typical old-fashioned host. We had fabulous homemade pici with wild boar ragù and a fantastic Florentine steak, 10 out of 10!!! The ricotta tart was also excellent. Highly recommended!

01/12/2025: I stopped here for a light lunch. I was planning on a sandwich, but I couldn't help but choose a platter of cured meats and cheeses, accompanied by a glass of excellent Brunello di Montalcino, beautifully presented in a bottle. The platter was generous and well-prepared. I followed it with a truly delicious salad. I really appreciated the courtesy and friendliness of the service. The quality/price ratio was excellent! If you're in the area and need a bite to eat, don't hesitate. Stop here.

27/12/2025: We stopped for breakfast at this café. We had two coffees and a tiny slice of tart. When it came time to pay, the bill was much higher than expected (there was no indication of prices or the type of desserts in the display case), and we were told they charged restaurant prices. "The law requires that, when a product is displayed to the public, the price must be clearly and pre-emptively known to the customer, without them having to ask." An experience not to be repeated.

22/12/2025: A truly excellent restaurant in Bagni San Filippo. The food is excellent, with excellent traditional local dishes prepared with great care. The location is beautiful, both inside and out, especially in the summer. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended!
