We arrived in Castiglione d'Orcia almost by chance while wandering through the beautiful Val d'Orcia, and this place immediately struck us from the outside. We passed the tobacconist's bar to enter the dining room, furnished in perfect osteria style. The smiling and friendly waitress welcomed us and recommended the dishes. We chose a Tuscan platter for two and six assorted crostoni (the one with melted Pescia cheese and truffle was my favorite), all washed down with an excellent craft beer. Price: €35 for two. I'd say the price was also very good. If you're passing by...stop by!!!!

Simple and effective. Absolutely incredible prices for simple dishes made with good local produce. And very good wines. The service is lovely. Perfect!

Went there for lunch while strolling around. Everyone was very friendly. Excellent platter. Amazing sandwiches. Prices were excellent, I'd say. Highly recommended. They also do breakfast. You can eat inside or outside.

I stopped here for a light lunch. I was planning on a sandwich, but I couldn't help but choose a platter of cured meats and cheeses, accompanied by a glass of excellent Brunello di Montalcino, beautifully presented in a bottle. The platter was generous and well-prepared. I followed it with a truly delicious salad. I really appreciated the courtesy and friendliness of the service. The quality/price ratio was excellent! If you're in the area and need a bite to eat, don't hesitate. Stop here.

From the moment you enter, you feel a sense of familiarity, thanks both to the simple yet elegant decor and the friendly staff. The restaurant's strong point is undoubtedly the handmade pasta. I tried the Pici all'amatriciana and sensed the artisanal care and the choice of quality ingredients. A truly original feature is the book corner, a space dedicated to reading that invites you to slow down and enjoy. Here, you can browse books while sipping a coffee or waiting for your dish, creating an experience that goes beyond a simple meal. "Il Bersagliere" manages to harmoniously combine taste, culture, and simplicity. A small village gem that is definitely worth a visit.
