26/10/2025: How to lose a customer... I just went to the pastry shop, I ordered some pastries to go, she told me €7.20, I asked if I could please have a small bag, she corrected it to €7.30, I paid, she left me a paper bag with the pastries and bag aside, I was wearing a helmet and gloves under my arm, I tried to bag them myself... I would like to be treated like a customer!!!! It should be a pleasure, but instead I left feeling disappointed.

31/10/2025: Let me start by saying that I don't like giving bad reviews, and I don't mean it to be mean, but I'm just expressing my personal experience. My boyfriend and I aren't local; we were passing through, and seeing all the good reviews, we decided to try it. I had the Wednesday menu (ham with fritters, a choice of pizza, and a small drink). I can't complain about the ham, and the fugassin (as we call them) were very good. The pizza, to be honest, lacked a balanced mix of ingredients; there were more mushrooms than ham, and it overpowered the overall flavor. The dough, however, was very light and well-made. Unfortunately, things didn't go very well for my boyfriend. He had asked for a pumpkin and sausage risotto, but instead they brought him a marinara with shrimp, cheese, and lots of pepper (I should point out that he didn't let them know about the mistake because he doesn't like to be a nuisance, even though he should have). However, he likes shrimp, so he accepted the dish, but he couldn't eat it (I tried it too). There was an excessive amount of pepper, and to be honest, it tasted like those half-baked packets of rice from the store. I say this because my parents always bought them, unfortunately for me. Let's just say he ate as much as he could. We finally chose two desserts, a tiramisu and a chocolate cheesecake. The tiramisu wasn't bad, but the cheesecake... aside from the good base, the cheese part had a rather sweet taste, plus there was no chocolate on top. There was a chocolate topping that was also so sweet it was inedible. If it had had regular melted chocolate, it would have been more balanced. What can I say, I was very disappointed, maybe with other dishes it would have been better, maybe as a tip, even if the place is full, take 30 seconds to repeat the dishes chosen to the customer so as not to make mistakes, for the rest the location was nice

29/10/2025: The pizza is exceptional, with a soft and extremely pleasant crust. My daughter had the seafood spaghetti 🍝 and it was no joke either. Succulent. We're just passing through, but I definitely recommend it. Well done!

A heartfelt thank you to all the Controcorrente staff for pampering us with taste and smiles... you were simply SUPERB!

02/10/2025: After two excellent experiences, it fully deserves five stars. The atmosphere is informal yet refined and welcoming, with the colors and aromas of home. Meat dishes, as per Tuscan tradition, compliments to the chef and all the staff. We'll be back again.

02/08/2025: Gran bella esperienza .. un locale semplice gestito da marito e moglie (gentilissimi) dove si possono apprezzare vini di alta qualità ma anche alcuni senza spendere una follia.. qua fanno taglieri misti con diversi tipi di formaggi .. ottima la mortadella di prato e la soppressata .. peccato che non accompagnano il tutto con un po’ di pinzimonio o delle verdure .. allora avrebbe meritato la 5 stella !!! Comunque eravamo in due abbiamo preso il tagliere grande (ci sono 3 dimensioni) 3 calici di vino e una mezza di naturale tot. 32,00 euro accettano carta … posti auto in zona ma bisogna girare un po’ per trovare posto.

02/08/2025: A truly wonderful experience... a simple place run by a very kind husband and wife team where you can enjoy high-quality wines and even some without spending a fortune. They do mixed platters with different types of cheeses. The mortadella di prato and soppressata are excellent. It's a shame they don't accompany everything with a little dip or vegetables... then it would have deserved 5 stars!!! Anyway, there were two of us, so we ordered the large platter (there are 3 sizes), 3 glasses of wine and a half glass of still wine. Total: €32.00, they accept credit cards... parking spaces in the area, but you have to walk around a bit to find a spot.

30/10/2025: Good for pizza and a beer. Antipasti quite good too. Primi and secondi so-so. Go if you’re looking for a sociable informal meal.

19/10/2025: Dinner for two on a Saturday night: the seafood appetizer and fried fish and vegetables were very good, and the service was quick. A definite plus. Pizza with friends on a Thursday night: an easy-to-reach place just a few kilometers from the city. The Tuscan appetizer with fried dough, the pizza good and well-cooked, and the dessert—all according to local tradition, generously portioned. The rustic, modern atmosphere is welcoming and quiet, and the staff is friendly and approachable.
