15/03/2026: If you're interested in trekking or snow activities, this is the perfect place, located on Mount Amiata. We just stayed there as a couple for a weekend with Smartbox. It's 40-50 minutes from Val d'Orcia, so it's also convenient for exploring the area. The staff was very friendly. We couldn't book the hot tub, but they offered us two complimentary bottles of their own wine. The rooms are cozy and clean. I recommend it!
24/02/2026: A relaxing weekend booked with Smartbox. We had a super panoramic room, a 5-star aperitif, but above all, we were guests at the restaurant.... That was an unforgettable experience.
The staff is priceless in kindness and professionalism. The common areas are very welcoming, and the location is fabulous. At night, there's heavenly silence, and during the day, breathtaking scenery.
I'll focus again on the restaurant because, in addition to being reasonably priced, it has an exceptional wine cellar and an unparalleled chef. The portions are very generous, and believe me, it's worth trying the entire menu.

15/03/2026: We had dinner for our anniversary. I asked if I could leave a little surprise for my fiancé, and we were completely satisfied. Not to mention the welcome and the quality of the food.
They immediately offered us a welcome glass of prosecco: delicious. Next, they brought us two first courses (tagliatelle with wild boar and pici with white Cinta Senese ragù), two second courses (peposo with creamed potatoes), and last but not least: the ricciolina.
The portions were adequate, the second course was perhaps a little small, but the quality was evident, and every bite was a delight.
We had a great time, and if we were to
return to the area, we'd definitely return!

24/01/2026: The food was amazing. We tried the pappardelle with hare and the pici with wild boar, and they were sublime, incredibly flavorful, perfectly seasoned, the game flavor not overpowering, and the pasta was homemade. The platter served with warm focaccia was also exceptional, and the desserts were always homemade. In conclusion, a quaint restaurant where you can feel the Tuscan countryside, offering a simple yet exceptional menu. Thanks also to the lady who served us during the meal, kind and not intrusive. The prices were also unbeatable. Thank you.
17/01/2026: Delicious first courses with homemade pasta, and excellent appetizers as well. Impeccable service, and the lady—I assume the owner—was very courteous.

30/01/2026: Feeling like a warm welcome and discreet hospitality has become a key factor in allowing me to sit down at a restaurant and then have things to say about the hospitality of a place, its people, and, only then, the quality of the food I've tasted.
"170 grammi," a pizzeria and restaurant in Pian di Ballo/Castel del Piano, was exactly what you'd expect at the end of a day of traveling, to relax and enjoy a good pizza (with a low crust and crispy crust, just the way my wife likes it!) made with decent-to-good-quality ingredients:
eating well, having no digestive regrets, and taking home the fond memory of a place that hosted you with loyalty and warmth.
This happened to my wife and I at the "170 grammi" pizzeria in Pian di Ballo/Castel del Piano.
Thanks to the owners and, in particular, to the kind lady who welcomed us, perfectly representing the hospitality of these places.
25/01/2026: We were passing through for a weekend on Monte Amiata, and a local recommended this place for takeout pizzas. We tried a capricciosa and a 170-gram pizza, both really good. Recommended ✌🏻

16/11/2025: Five stars for the pizza. And that's what ultimately matters. Plus, I had the best espresso I've had out in ages. Definitely recommended if you just want to grab a bite or pick something up.
21/09/2025: I enjoyed the pizza 🍕. Everything was fresh and delicious, but the dough was too crispy for me. I prefer the Naples style. I had two glasses of red wine with it, which was also okay. The staff was super friendly and attentive 👍😊

26/10/2025: Bad experience...they write a lot and present very little...not to mention the price and the dishes...
I had a first course with sausage and polenta...they served two slices of frozen polenta with a grilled sausage on the side...a slice of meat that was as long as three fingers...never again!
09/10/2025: We've been coming to this hotel for fifteen years, and we always feel at home.
The hotel is very charming, super clean, and meticulously cared for down to the smallest details.
Luisa's cooking is always amazing, as is Claudio's friendliness.
The staff is very serious, courteous, and professional.
I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to eat well and relax.
The reception was recently renovated, and an elevator will soon be installed to accommodate older guests.

23/02/2026: We went to this bar for a drink and weren't happy with the bartender's behavior. He was very rude and inconsiderate. We definitely won't be setting foot in this bar again! A word of advice to the bartender...change jobs!!!

Sono stato a cena con la famiglia e abbiamo scelto di mangiare il pesce. Ottimi piatti, porzioni abbondanti e servizio efficiente e rapido seppur fosse affollato.
Camerieri gentili e disponibili e soprattutto dei prezzi veramente bassi. Da provare assolutamente.
07/07/2025: Senza prenotazione con a seguito un Pastore Tedesco fuori taglia per grandezza, ci hanno accolti con cordialità e fatti accomodare per nostra scelta nei tavoli all'esterno del ristorante. Come sempre...... come a casa. Ottimo cibo, bravo il personale e cordialissimi i titolari. Rapporto qualità/ prezzo eccellente.

09/09/2023: Nonostante un menu pretenzioso, si mangia piuttosto male e il servizio è così improvvisato da essere ridicolo. Tortell induriti perché cotti in precedenza e poi riscaldati nel burro. Patate crude, arrivate dopo aver finito la carne che era dura e insapore. Impossibile sapere dalla gentile cameriera che vino ci ha servito: proprio non lo sapeva e nel foglietto strapazzato che aveva in mano non c'era scritto!! Prezzi alti anche per un ristrante dove qualcuno sa cucinare... Non ci tornerò
15/08/2023: Vorrei fare una critica costruttiva per questi due ragazzi che hanno rilevato questo locale. Prima di tutto quando si dà un orario anche se il cliente si presenta cinque minuti prima si dovrebbero fare trovare i tavoli pronti...poi non si può servire l'antipasto con l'insalata avvizzita e maleodorante...capisco che manca l'esperienza e quindi vi invito a migliorare il vostro servizio per dare al vostro locale il giusto valore
