09/02/2025: Full disclaimer, we had our wedding there and it was perfect. The place is beautiful, the ground staff is great. The problem is the the manager Matteo, he’s very sketchy and not to be trusted. It’s a nice venue, but there are many nice venues in the region. So I would suggest you to stay away. They would go out of their way to lie and take your money. Things to look out for if you already booked with them: 1. Do not order room service, or champagne, or any kind of food or beverage to the rooms, they will charge you “service fee” of €20 per person. We ordered a bottle of champagne for 6 people. And ON TOP of the cost of the bottle (€200) they charged us €120 for this “fee”. You can just go to the restaurant, order it and bring it to your room by yourself . Or eat/drink at the restaurant. 2. They will make up fake items just to charge you. For example, they charged us €600 additionally to hire some chairs for the wedding ceremony even though they used the same chairs from dinner just repurposed them. Watch out for this make sure you don’t pay them more than what you should. As they will lie about giving you a refund but then would ignore your calls and emails to avoid paying. 3. They have many rigid rules, and do not allow any external caterers. Only there in house catering team. Therefore they are monopoly on price and will be a lot more expensive with very limited menu/offering. ——— Update in Feb 2025: I’ve been informed that Matteo has been fired from Villa Mangiacane, which is a very good decision of the owner/management. Hopefully the new manager is decent to do justice for such beautiful and magical venue.

03/08/2024: Horrible experience. Among many problems (dirty room, etc.), we were locked out of the villa the first night with no way to get in, no one to help us. We had to literally scale the fence and break in. They said in person and in writing that we could leave a day early and they would refund us for the last night. Now they refuse to refund us or respond to our requests. Unethical scam artists who lied to our faces. This place makes money by having Instagram worthy vistas for weddings and then puts most guests in dirty rooms with no/bad a.c. and treats them poorly. See tripadvisor reviews, etc. from ppl with same experience. Truly a miserable place.

11/09/2024: Buonissima la qualità delle loro pizze ma da rivedere sicuramente la cucina interna, qualche piatto sembra già pronto. Sarebbe da 3 stelle ma la cordialità e la professionalità c'è e torneremo per riprovare!

07/09/2024: Menu ottimo, personale gentile ed efficiente, buoni gli antipasti, pizza eccellente così come i piatti di pesce! Unica pecca per la quale prego 🙏 i gestori di intervenire è l'impianto di aspirazione assolutamente inefficace, si esce soddisfatti e sazi ma portandosi a casa, sui vestiti, l'odore del cibo. Anche altri amici hanno rilevato la stessa cosa. In estate una maglietta si lava facilmente, ma in inverno con maglioni e cappotti la cosa diversa impossibile. Provvedete per favore altrimenti nelle stagioni fredde dovremmo scegliere un altra pizzeria, sicuramente non buona come La Carbonaia, sigh

22/03/2025: Cose semplici fatte bene: è il segreto di una schiacciata famosa che si gusta calda con soddisfazione,meglio se imbottita con affettati o pecorino.Se da Firenze andate a Siena o a Pisa-Livorno,con una deviazione di pochi km per Chiesanuova ,potete riposarvi un attimo in questa bottega di altri tempi delle colline fiorentine

08/01/2025: Ci siamo fermati per il pranzo mentre raggiungevano San Casciano in val di passa e ci siamo tornati anche il giorno seguente durante il ritorno, siamo stati colpiti dalla simpatia gentilezza e genuinità di David, tutte persone squisite, oltre che dalla super bontà delle loro schiacciatine, condite con ingredienti semplicemente buonissimi, ne abbiamo addirittura prese da portare a casa!!

18/04/2025: Per una cena di lavoro mi imbatto in questo locale Tipica locale toscano in centro storico Mangiato carne e contorno, accompagnato con vino della casa Tutto molto buono, direi da leccarsi i baffi Il proprietario, il signor Leandro ci ha accolti in un ambiente molto familiare, presente a soddisfare ogni nostra richiesta Top anche la musica di sottofondo Ci ritorna molto presto
