22/02/2026: A true home away from home in Grassina. ​If you are looking for an authentic, family-owned spot in Grassina, you absolutely have to visit Jimmy’s. We went as a family of five with two bambini, and honestly, the atmosphere is so bustling and full of life that I’d highly recommend booking a table in advance. ​There is a quote on their menu that says, "... Cose importanti nella vita? La prima è mangiare, le altre non le conosco" by Carl William Brown. You can tell they really live by those words. ​We started our meal with grilled vegetables and a burrata pugliese that was just amazing—that was my "primo piatto." For my "secondo," I had the Pizza "Della Casa," which is this incredible mix of a calzone and a pizza. You can taste that it’s made with so much love; it was just full of flavor. To drink, we had some local wine and tried their special beer—the 1L beer was a highlight! ​What really stood out was how she treated our kids. Our two are extremely fussy with their food, but she didn't blink an eye and adapted the menu to exactly what they liked. By the end of the night, the kids were so happy. We finished off with homemade tiramisu, limoncello, caffè, and a Vecchio Amaro del Capo. ​The owner served us herself, and she is such a genuine, traditional host. Everything is homemade and so tasty. By the time we left, we didn't just feel like customers; we felt like part of the restaurant's family. Such an amazing experience.

14/01/2026: For lunch, it's practically a must. Fast service, generous and authentic dishes, just like in the old days. Claudio and the entire staff are super friendly: it's always a pleasure to stop by, chat, and eat well. I stop here very often, and ever since I took my son here for the first time, he's been asking me to come back. That says it all for me. Thank you so much for what you do: for me, you're the best.

02/03/2026: Excellent Sunday lunch at Nuovo Ranch in Osteria Nuova. Beautiful location surrounded by greenery, ideal for families with children. Excellent food, generous portions. Impeccable service: friendly and very attentive staff. A wonderful discovery, we'll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

01/01/2026: A nightmare New Year's Eve dinner: terrible food, served cold; poor-quality wine and undrinkable sparkling wine, drunk either from plastic cups or aperitif glasses (also undrinkable), which we had to rinse out by pouring the contents into either a water or wine glass, as we chose! All for €65! P.S. At 9:45 PM, all that was left was dessert, while we sat at the table waiting for midnight!

14/11/2025: Small pizzeria and pizza by the slice. Very good, light dough, high edges, thin center, good ingredients. Friendly and attentive staff. We ordered three pizzas, water, and two Cokes for €49, and since it was small, we booked first.

06/09/2025: Good pizza for home delivery, and they've always been on time over the years. However, over the last two years, delivery service has gotten significantly worse, with delays of up to 60 minutes.

26/10/2025: We should have known when we were the only 8 people in the restaurant, but alas, we did not head this warning sign. The chef came out to verbally offer several courses of food for our evening. No menus were given (our second red flag) but we also didn’t know how things were done, so we said yes. I did ask for options that were no meat, and no dairy, as we had people in our group with dietary restrictions. I spoke this in Italian even though his English was very good, and he acted as though he perfectly understood . But several courses of cheesy dishes and meat followed. Eventually at the end of the courses, some charred tasting vegetables came, and some mediocre potatoes. People in the group who ate all the food said none of it was very good. The lone wait staff was not friendly nor approachable. All this to say that at the end of it all, our bill was some 430 Euro, which the chef asked to be paid in cash. Like, what? We’re not just carrying that many Euro on our person. He did of course pull out the card reader and the bill was paid. Over paid rather. If you’re still here at the end after the rambling novel of this review, my strong advice is to steer very clear of this establishment. Unless you love eating bad food, feeling like and inconvenience, and being monetarily taken advantage of. Side note, the shop next door was a dream. We had gotten coffee there earlier in the day, and it was a most pleasant experience.

22/08/2025: I visited this restaurant with my husband and found the atmosphere very homey, simple yet welcoming. The appetizer of pappa al pomodoro fritters was truly delicious, a true delight. The main course, a fillet of beef served with potatoes, was very good: the meat was tender and well-cooked. We enjoyed the pici, although we would have preferred them with less pepper, as the flavor was a bit too intense. As for the desserts, however, our experience was less satisfying: they were a bit heavy, and we weren't convinced by the choice of serving them in a cup, which was awkward both for eating and for the waiter to carry. The service was courteous, with a friendly waiter, and the wait times were reasonable, neither too long nor too fast. Overall, it was a good experience, especially for those who appreciate authentic flavors in a rustic atmosphere. The desserts could be improved, but we'll definitely be back!

29/11/2025: Everything was excellent. I can't wait to go back. Excellent value for money, impeccable service, and a really nice and respectful place, especially for non-smokers, as they don't allow people to smoke outside. I'll be back soon.

07/11/2025: Well, I don't like giving bad reviews, but this place took them out of my mouth. I didn't go for dinner, so I don't want to judge the atmosphere and service other than what I ordered, which was takeout poke. The service was average, but the poke was the real problem: the rice and sauces weren't cold, but almost frozen from the fridge. The tomatoes were still whole, not even chopped, and even the whole boiled egg was in the middle of the bowl. Full of garlic yogurt sauce and spices, you couldn't even taste the chicken I'd put in it. The carrots were already chopped from the bag, which shouldn't even be a problem, but considering everything else, I couldn't believe it. The money I paid was good (€12), not fake, unlike the food I was given. I hope there will be an improvement.
