El personal fue amable y atento durante toda la noche. Los precios están un poco por encima de la media, pero la experiencia general hace que valga la pena.

You'll enter a small shop to access the restaurant in the back. You can choose between the outdoor terrace or stay inside.
Food-wise, we had a very good meal there, with gluten-free options available for those who prefer.
The terrace was very nice and the prices very reasonable.
I recommend it if you're passing through the area.
29/07/2025: This is truly a gem if you are into local cuisine. Super tasty food… their ragu is exceptional when we have been there.
Remember to look at the many nice pictures and photographs.

09/07/2025: It's been a while since we've been back to Gargotta, and I think it's changed management. In any case, we ate very well. Excellent steak, excellent tartare, even fried flowers, and amazing desserts. The appetizer platter was perhaps a bit ordinary, and they could use a makeover.
Excellent selection of wines and Prosecco. The terrace is perfect for summer evenings, with the background music of frogs that reminds us of the countryside. Discreet and informal service.
08/07/2025: Trattoria La Gargotta is a superb restaurant.
I went there for dinner with four friends.
We ate everything, a classic Tuscan/Florentine menu: classic Tuscan appetizer, first course (tagliolini with truffle), second course (grilled rosticciana), with side dishes (sautéed spinach and baked potatoes), and coffee.
Everything was VERY GOOD.
From start to finish.
The service was a bit awkward; they confused the bottle we ordered with a more expensive one.
The owner, having already opened it for us, apologized and offered it to us at the same price as the one we ordered. Truly very kind. (Not everyone would do that these days.)
The restaurant is located in the Florentine hills, just outside the city, with a splendid terrace overlooking the city, and a very beautiful and characteristic interior.
I highly recommend coming for dinner.

08/07/2025: A great find, a real gem, a 15 euro menu with a lot of choice for both the first and second courses. Homemade cuisine, a very warm welcome. An address to keep for your next visit. Everything is excellent, and you eat peacefully. I highly recommend it.

16/07/2025: Posticino curioso, artistico, con gatti neri che ti accompagnano e colorate stoviglie, seggiole, cuscini; padrona simpatica e gentile, ho sentito tanti grazie durante questo pranzo. Deliziose e ricchissime proposte di cibo. Tovaglioli in stoffa ed appiggiaposate, una chicca. Tutto buonissimo, eccellente anche il vino. Un posticino dove tornare spesso. Non per chi desidera mangiare a buon mercato.

11/07/2025: A Peaceful Retreat Just Outside Florence:
We had a really nice stay at this hotel, which has just been taken over by a new company and completely rebranded. It’s been recently refurbished and looks great — modern, stylish, and very comfortable.
The location is perfect, just 5 km from Florence, and there’s a shuttle that makes it super easy to get in and out of the city. The hotel itself is surrounded by greenery, has a lovely pool, and is very peaceful — a great place to unwind after a day of exploring.
Our room was spacious and quiet, with everything we needed. The bar was well stocked, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
All in all, a great spot if you’re looking for a relaxing base near Florence!

01/07/2025: During a business trip, passing through the area, I happened to stop at the Donnini restaurant during a quick lunch break, together with a colleague. Personally, when I can have lunch in a restaurant, I love the almost family atmosphere that you breathe, and the fact of being able to taste traditional dishes.
This restaurant fully met my expectations: I found a welcoming environment, excellent food and a courteous and rapid service.
Only two less positive notes: first of all, the background music (I think it was a kind of bossa nova), seemed inconsistent with the restaurant environment, where in my opinion only space should be given to dialogue between diners.
Secondly, I found the price of €76 for two people slightly too high, based on what we ate and the fact that it was a business lunch. I considered the appetizer and dessert a little too expensive, especially, and I think that a price under €70 would have been more fair.
In short, this does not take anything away from the value of this trattoria, which I recommend to anyone who is in the area. I myself would go back again.

28/07/2025: I had a really delicious green pepper fillet. The atmosphere was a bit noisy, and unfortunately we couldn't eat on the terrace as we'd have liked because the weather wasn't good. The pistachio ravioli were also good. The staff was friendly.
