31/03/2024: The food is excessively expensive, pasta dishes do not go below 13 euros and the quality is terrible. They charged us 8 euros for the cutlery. We were four people and the bill came to 71 euros, a figure that does not correspond to the quality and quantity of food. we will not return

06/04/2024: I love this place. It's like grandma or some other family member is in the kitchen making me dinner. We picked it because it wasn't in the heart of town and had good reviews. We were not disappointed. The starter was incredible, the pasta was delicious. Just like home made which I do not say lightly. The service was attentive at all times. I highly recommend. Oh and the coffee was fantastic!
26/03/2024: The very kind staff unfortunately my Beccafico sardines were cold from the fridge, the quality of the food was very good but perhaps there was a lack of attention to small details, I had to send it back to be reheated, in the caponata there were a lot of carrots, it will be for my ignorance since the caponata I tasted in Sicily were always with aubergines and other vegetables, never with carrots, in the end the dinner did not live up to expectations.

27/03/2024: Informal environment with a single room and a corner with a pizza oven. Fast service, generous portions and typical local traditional dishes. I chose the cavatelli alla norma and the stuffed squid.

01/04/2024: Excellent service, large welcoming location also ideal for parties, events and ceremonies, we stayed on the veranda with deco style windows. I enjoyed the ribs with potato chips. All good, they also make pizza and have a very rich menu.

Fresh products, divine dough.
The super friendly staff and the delicious desserts.
Super recommended.

08/10/2023: We chose the restaurant based on the good reviews. Unfortunately, I can't understand it at all.
The service was bored and disinterested, Sizlian specialties were basically out. A wet plate with wet packets of salt came to the table without comment with bread and half a bottle of oil. I would have liked to have ordered olives and a piece of pecorino as the bread was fresh and delicious. The waiter didn't look at us, even though we and two others were the only guests. A simple insalata mista for €10 consisted of a flat plate, also flat filled, consisting of some iceberg lettuce and some radiccio. The main course calamari fritti was OK, but overpriced for the quantity and simplicity.
It's a shame, with more interest in the guest we could have overlooked such mistakes. And we would have liked to leave money for dolce vita!!

24/11/2023: First time in Lido di Noto. The place was busy, but service was fast and the seafood fresh and delightful.
The bathrooms are unisex so kind of weird not knowing who is coming out of the stall, but it makes sense because they are for the people on the beach as well.
Great vibe, you are virtually sitting on the beach as you eat.
Prices were a little bit steep compared to the area and sicily in general, but not terrible. 2 people, two main dishes, shared big salad, plus a beer and a sprite, around 55 euros.
Most definitely recommend experiencing a wonderful day out in a place like this, you can even include the city of Noto for some fun after dark.

02/04/2024: With the best will in the world, I can't understand the bad reviews. We had lunch at La Vecchia Fontana and were served promptly and friendly. We had a tomato salad as a starter and a pizza each as a main course. The salad was freshly prepared with date tomatoes, fresh onions, capers and olives. All ingredients were very aromatic. The pizza with a fluffy edge, as we know it from Naples. Rich toppings and a tomato sauce that also tastes like tomatoes and not just like tomato puree. At the end there was a hazelnut-colored cafe. Buono. Price and performance is okay for a tourist center.
01/04/2024: Coffee is an art and you have to know how to make cappuccino... unpleasant owner at the cash register. Disgusting cappuccino for 2.50 at the bar!!! To be avoided

28/11/2023: locale con una bella distesa estiva ma essendo novembre con un vento che ti cava la pelle meno male che abbiamo prenotato dentro, locale non troppo grande ma elegante, servizio accurato, abbiamo preso insalata di polpo con verdure molto buona, poi dalle busiate sia allo scoglio che alle sarde veramente ottime e infine uno spada alla meditteranea molto appettitoso. costo adeguato all' offerta.

04/04/2024: Overall, we had an OK (on the level of a Michelin star restaurant) experience at this restaurant. We had the meat 5-course tasting menu. The first amuse bouche was excellent: a “fake” oliver with lots of aromas inside. The following two dishes (egg with truffle, artichoke) were nothing special and even lacked some flavour. The Primo pasta dish was very good, as well as the Secondo main dish, although not much can go wrong with the goulash-type of sauce for this kind of dish. The dessert, cannoli with ice cream, was very good but again, lacked a bit of creativity for a michelin star restaurant.The service was so-so: they first couldnt find our reservation and had to spell out the name twice; they seem to have never heard of sharing one wine pairing menu with two (1/2 a glass each), as we are moderate drinkers, which is very common for this level of restaurants; and at the end they forgot to pass by to ask if we wanted any coffee or tea, so we just paid and left.
03/04/2024: Amy wife and I went on the off season so it was easy to get a mid-week table. The food was traditional Sicilian food done to an exceptional level with a bit of theatre built in. The service was great. The atmosphere was very pleasant especially for privacy, I have marked it down purely on personal preference for a more active environment.

09/03/2024: Only in Italy you can stumble upon celiac safe street food. I was so happy to be able to try fried seafood and it was really tasty, fresh and crispy.
