27/08/2025: If we had listened to Google reviews, we would have passed. Fortunately, we decided to follow the much more relevant advice of the Guide du Routard, which recommended the place.
And indeed, the pizzas, both the dough and the other ingredients, were excellent (be careful with the olives, however, which retain their pits).
The service was very good, with sufficiently attentive waitresses. We showed up at 7 on a Wednesday at the end of August, without a reservation, and were seated right away.
In short, a very good experience, in the heart of a very picturesque neighborhood of Scicli.

24/08/2025: La Varcuzza in Donnalucata was a pleasant surprise: I'd only known it as a restaurant, but the pizza is truly superb! Light dough, quality ingredients, and meticulous attention to detail. A place that's definitely worth a visit as a pizzeria, too.
22/08/2025: Welcoming place, we ordered two delicious pizzas, very good dough and ingredients, the wait wasn't long at all and the staff was truly professional, a rare find these days. I don't understand the negative reviews, it almost seems like we ate at two different restaurants.

05/09/2025: The food was bland and the portions were small. The "burger" wasn't a burger, just a dry vegetable patty... that's all. I had the gnocchi with mussels, thank you, but they took away my desire for this dish so much that I'll never eat it again! Absolutely beyond reproach.
03/09/2025: Recommended by chatgpt, we came to this place attracted by the natural wines. Unfortunately, the selection was limited and mediocre, or perhaps the waitress who served us the wine wasn't the right one. Other than that, we ate very well, although the service was a bit slow. The waiters were helpful and friendly, however. The location is spectacular, and it perfectly enhances Scicli by night.

Trattoria tipica locale con piatti cucinati a regola d’arte. Ci siamo fermati per il pranzo della domenica, il posto ci ha invogliato perché molto tranquillo e siamo rimasti piacevolmente sorpresi dalla qualità delle pietanze. A completare l’esperienza la splendida gestione familiare e la simpatia del sig. Ignazio. Torneremo di sicuro!

21/08/2025: I don't know, maybe it's changed management. When I come to Sicily on vacation, I can't wait to enjoy a good granita with cream, and this time I was disappointed with the classic cream that collapses after a minute. The other products are different, too.

A year later today we were served promptly but with the granitas ordered they gave us the brioches from the day before (or older judging by how hard they were) only after I brought them back to the counter they served us fresh brioches! They continue to make fun of their customers undaunted! What a shame.

12/08/2025: Posticino tranquillo anche se fuori e di passaggio,personale gentile ed efficiente,impeccabile il cameriere Danilo,molto accudente.Antipasto con polpettine e mini arancini favoloso.
Un suggerimento....le sedie che non vengono occupate non lasciatele appoggiate al tavolo,da un senso di poca accoglienza,e come mangiare su un muretto.

26/07/2025: We ordered three takeout pizzas on a Saturday night. Ignoring the excessive wait times, the quality of the food was nothing short of awful. I ordered a pizza with sausage and fries: the toppings were sparse, if not nonexistent, and the dough was similar to chewing gum, and it was burnt on the bottom. I also want to point out that the pizza was overpriced, especially considering the toppings...
This place is highly inadvisable; avoid it like the plague.

20/08/2025: We've already had pizzas at Risiu twice and were satisfied both times. The pizzas are delicious, with perfect dough, and they're reasonably priced. I recommend downloading the very well-designed app, where you can order your pizza and take advantage of many discounts and freebies.

31/05/2025: A Scicli ho provato solo questa gelateria perché ben recensita, quindi non posso fare confronti in città. Che dire, il gusto è buono e naturale, ma non è eccezionale.
Granita un po' troppo acquosa, il gelato un po' troppo dolce.
Ho mangiato granite decisamente più dense, cremose e saporite a Catania e ad Acireale!

29/07/2024: Esperienza veramente deludente. Guai a chiedere una variante sui condimenti delle pizze perché è tutto preparato in anticipo, alla faccia di intolleranze e allergie. Attesa interminabile, durante la quale sono stati serviti tavoli arrivati ben dopo di noi. Tengo a precisare che al nostro arrivo il locale era praticamente vuoto e c'erano non più di cinque o sei persone in fila per l'asporto. Alla nostra richiesta di spiegazioni un cameriere ineducato e arrogante ha tentato di sbugiardarci. Ho lavorato nella ristorazione dieci anni, se hai perso la comanda o ci sono stati problemi rimedi. E infatti quando sono entrata, scocciatissima, dopo un'ora, per pagare birra e acqua, hanno ammesso che era proprio quello che era successo. Ma occhio, perché io vivo a Donnalucata da anni enl quando sento parlottare capisco perfettamente lo sciclitano. Scorretti e poco simpatici. Mai più.
25/07/2024: Sconsiglio, dopo più di un'ora di attesa con il locale quasi vuoto non ci avevano ancora servito l'ordinazione: due pizze. Alla richiesta di spiegazioni il cameriere rispondeva in modo sgarbato. Siamo andati via senza cenare! Consiglio, volete una pizza a Donnalucata andate altrove.
