04/06/2026: Yesterday, June 12, 2022, I celebrated my birthday at the new Di Rapisarda bar with family and friends. We enjoyed excellent granitas, delicious arancini, and delicious coffee creams, beautifully served and in great company. Courtesy, kindness, and helpfulness ensure that I stop in the afternoon to enjoy a good coffee ☕

11/06/2026: I had gelato for the first time tonight. It was truly excellent, the guy was kind and very friendly, and he told me he was vegetarian like me. The place is clean, with a wide selection of sweet and savory options. I recommend it and will be back. Excellent!

04/07/2026: Bar Alecci, aka "the house of pistachio." The bar is excellent, very popular, and boasts a long tradition, but to be honest, there's one thing that makes it shine like a beacon in the night for all those with a sweet tooth: the pistachio granita, made with Bronte pistachios since time immemorial. And there are those, like us, who travel several kilometers to enjoy one of these granitas. Correction: to enjoy THE best pistachio granita on the island. Kudos also to the staff: from the girl at the cashier who manages social media, who kindly answers questions, to the waiters, everyone is friendly, fast, helpful, and professional. If they'd even revamp the place, it would be perfect! Never again I don't usually write negative reviews, but the rudeness and terrible treatment I received really can't be overlooked. I've been frequenting Bar Alecci regularly for years and have always had high praise for their pistachio granita and soy cappuccino. Today, however, something went wrong. I went to the counter to choose what to order. In the end, I opted for a puff pastry that, according to the counter clerk, was filled with white chocolate. I was already imagining something delicious, filled with a cream similar to galak, so to speak. Imagine my disappointment, however, when I discovered that inside the pastry was a plain white cream, something I would never, ever, have ordered. Moreover, having bitten into it, we couldn't take it back. Add to this the fact that they brought us things we hadn't asked for, and despite having asked the waitress four times for two simple glasses of sparkling water, she kept coming back and forth with full trays, completely ignoring our simple request. And, last but not least, the heavily makeup-wearing, bespectacled waitress who brought my beloved cappuccino with soy milk made derisive (?) remarks about me as she walked away, which I, my fellow diners, and the couple at the next table overheard. Now, I think this is truly intolerable. Aside from the order errors, aside from the barista's incompetence, aside from the lack of customer service, there's more to it than that. We're no longer in the era of "the customer is always right." You don't necessarily have to smile at customers, even if it would be appreciated, given your job dealing with the public. I do expect, however, to be respected, and that you keep your personal opinions/comments to yourself, as I do. No one wants "breakfast and insults," right? All things considered, I sadly believe the Alecci bar will never see us again.
