08/02/2026: Lunch, August 25, 2023. Impeccable tuna quality and good tuna preparations—let's just say that as far as grilling bluefin tuna is concerned, there's nothing to complain about. But for the rest... the first courses were awful; the menu listed "fresh couscous with seared tuna." The bowl containing the food and couscous were microwave-hot; the couscous was simply boiled in water and topped with cherry tomato wedges, canned chickpeas, and 5 (five) diced grilled tuna. "White lasagna with pesto, tuna, and zucchini" was the same. The lasagna was reheated in the microwave, the plate was piping hot, and the lasagna pasta was decidedly too thick and barely seasoned (given the type of restaurant, I wasn't expecting such skimpiness and carelessness in the preparation). The octopus and potato appetizer was rubbery, and the potatoes had been boiled at least two days before (inedible). Expectations were high, but they were disappointed. Not to mention that the owner, busy haranguing his friends' other tables, didn't bother listening to our complaints. He even missed the checkout, leaving the waitress to deal with the situation, which, in my opinion, was unacceptable. I won't be returning.
PS: On a positive note, fortunately, the couscous wasn't charged.

02/05/2026: An absolute must for fish lovers! We spent an evening here that left nothing to be desired in terms of cuisine. The tuna was exceptionally fresh, and the preparation was of the highest standard.
We had the pleasure of sampling our way through the menu:
Appetizers: The carpaccio, the tartare, and the marinated tuna were incredibly tender and perfectly balanced in flavor.
The highlight: We were particularly impressed by a dish that resembled braised cheeks (similar to beef cheeks) served in a fantastic tomato sauce – incredibly tender and aromatic!
Main course: The tuna steak was exactly as it should be: crispy on the outside and perfectly translucent on the inside.
The prices are absolutely reasonable for the high quality, and the wine list also offers fair prices. Overall, a wonderful experience. A clear 5 stars!

15/05/2026: It looks lovely there. That's why we chose the bar yesterday. The cocktails were very good. But (at least for us) feeling comfortable is also part of a good experience. Unfortunately, the young woman serving seemed apathetic and indifferent. No greeting, not a single friendly word. Please and thank you were conspicuously absent. It's a shame, because everything was beautifully presented, the products are good, but something was missing that didn't cost anything extra. Perhaps the young woman was having a bad day. She should try to improve, though, so as not to spoil the overall impression.

27/03/2026: We discovered Il Corsaro in Carloforte on the beautiful island of San Pietro, Sardinia—and it quickly became our favorite spot. We’ve visited many times over the years, often with friends, and every single visit has been consistently excellent.
The food is simply outstanding. From their delicious pizzas (including unique fried pizzas) to fresh panini, juicy hamburgers, and some of the best calamari fritti we’ve ever had—everything we’ve tried has been full of flavor and perfectly prepared.
The prices are more than reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. Even after trying many other restaurants on the island, we always find ourselves happily returning to Il Corsaro.
A special mention goes to the wonderful chef Anna, whose passion and skill truly make the experience memorable every time.
Highly recommended!
13/03/2026: I had a business lunch break on a trip. The menu was affordable, and I left feeling full.
Really not bad, considering the food is cooked to order and served at your table. I highly recommend it.
There's ample parking in front.

25/01/2026: To access this location, you have to go down a walkway designed, I assume, for wheelchairs, with no handrail or anything, very dangerous for the elderly or those wearing heels...
It was freezing cold. They sat us on the veranda, the tableware was all paper, all bags, in the time of Covid. I won't argue with the pizza because I haven't tried it, but it looked good. As for the food, apart from the pepperoni side dish, I have to say it was awful, awful, awful.
Of course, I didn't have much choice in Carloforte at the moment, since all the restaurants are closed during the off-peak season. However, if the few that remain worked a little better, they would have left me with good memories. I think that unfortunately, San Pietro Island is no longer in my future plans.

16/05/2026: I asked for a glass of water three times before eating, but nothing. Finally, they brought me a 250cc glass bottle, which I sent back because I didn't order it.
Denying me water, I think, is a huge rudeness, and I'd say NO thanks.
The tuna salad was good, but the raw ingredients weren't good for the price. Not recommended.
16/04/2026: Too bad this time I was very disappointed. The waitress didn't listen well to what I ordered and created problems with eating. She said that the pizzas had arrived but when I went to pay the pizzas were still in the oven (she exclaimed the boys ate them). We left without having eaten, only drank.

06/04/2026: Very questionable value for money. I don't know what the average prices are (in the city), but even if they were medium-high, for the quantity and quality of these dishes, they're not worth it. The first courses were OK, the second courses were very small portions and very overpriced (fried calamari, maybe 5 pieces, not even 1 whole calamari, €40). Furthermore, the latter were tasteless and the quality of the fish wasn't top-notch. The vegetables were the same. The service was decent, the plus point being that it was fast. Smiles and kindness were lacking. We won't be returning.

07/11/2025: This review concerns the parking lot, which lacks disabled parking spaces, effectively forcing you to pay for parking as there are no other spaces available for beach access in the immediate vicinity.
19/10/2025: I had a really good time.
A place with welcoming and informal staff and owner.
I had a delicious grilled pork accompanied by a marinara pizza!! 😏
It's a shame I was here at the end of October and they only open on Friday and Saturday evenings, so no homemade desserts, but that's okay.
They don't deliver, but takeout is available.
In my opinion, the interior is truly beautiful, warm, and welcoming.
There's plenty of parking, and in the summer they even have a space reserved for campers.
The entrance is convenient, even for wheelchair users.

22/02/2026: The gelato was delicious. I ordered three flavors at a reasonable price and enjoyed it in the streets of the historic center, near the steps. It's an experience I'd happily repeat. The place has several shaded outdoor tables, perfect for summer.
