11/01/2026: Sunday isn't Sunday if I don't get pizza from Franco and Anna. My favorite is the one with fried vegetables made by Anna, but also the Margherita and the smoked pizza. They're well-topped, and for me, when I eat pizzas from other pizzerias, even if they're renowned, they don't give me the satisfaction I'm used to at Franco's. Fast service, I've been a customer all my life, but everyone is always very kind. On Sunday evenings, it's best to go early. Sometimes I go and eat it on site.

The foundation is there, but it could use some updating after so many years... less football on TV and more attention to decor and customer service could be a big help, in my opinion. The menu is varied, with meat, fish, and mushrooms, all good. Just be careful with the wine bottles, which sometimes may not live up to expectations. When in doubt, it's best to opt for bulk. 16/01/2026: The pizza here is exceptional, with perfect crust and high-quality toppings. The atmosphere is very dated and dimly lit, and needs a refresh. The service is slow; we waited 45 minutes for our pizzas to arrive, but once we started eating them, they were so good we forgot everything else!

11/11/2025: Visiting Il Peperoncino felt like discovering a hidden gem tucked just a few steps from the bustle around the Leaning Tower. From the moment I walked in, the staff welcomed me with genuine warmth, setting the tone for a memorable evening. The décor is relaxed, cosy and effortlessly charming — the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable unwinding after walking the cobbled streets of Pisa. The menu honours Tuscan and Italian traditions without resorting to tourist-trap clichés. I sampled the pasta with truffle and sausage (the famed “picci alla norcina”) and was struck by how boldly earthy yet perfectly balanced it was. The pizza was fresh, the seafood spaghetti generous and unpretentious, and the house wine poured nicely. Portions were satisfying and pricing pleasantly fair for such quality. Many fellow travellers praise the welcoming service and attention to detail. If there’s a downside, it would be that, because of its proximity to the major attraction, bookings are wise—this place fills up. But that also means the high standard is not accidental. In short: if you’re in Pisa and want to dine somewhere authentic, friendly and delicious, Il Peperoncino is very hard to beat.

08/11/2025: I always order pizza delivery. For me, it's the best in Carpi: excellent dough, consistently good ingredients, and easy to digest. The prices are very reasonable. Delivery is incredibly fast.

11/01/2026: I went there for dinner. The place is very nice. We ordered: -1 Cristina pizza -1 Sicilian pizza -2 medium beers -1 chocolate tenerino (a kind of warm chocolate heart, but cake-like) served with mascarpone cream with chocolate chips. -1 mascarpone cream with chocolate chips. The pizzas are fresh, perfectly cooked, and definitely large. In total, we spent €40 for two. I gave it 4 stars because of the very long wait, but I have to say it's absolutely worth it; I highly recommend it.
