26/04/2026: In addition to the top stars, I'd give praise to this family of restaurateurs who have managed to maintain low prices over time without skimping on the quality of ingredients and service. It's been a long time since I've seen dishes on the menu for €5 (the price of a starter), just to give you an example. To accommodate families and groups, Coca-Cola by the liter and wine and beer by the jug make a difference in the final bill. The wood-fired pizzas are all done to perfection, but as a lover of deep-dish pizza, I ate mine with gusto and was satisfied. Fast and impeccable service, uniformed staff and several meters of the dining room in suits, and a diverse range of diners' ages prove that the Principe caters to everyone.

The service was prompt and prompt, and the prices were reasonable.

25/04/2026: I was there today and I was really satisfied. First of all, the service: a very courteous and knowledgeable gentleman served us very well, also explaining the dishes to us, which is not always a given since I am also in the profession. 10 out of 10 slices of steak, perhaps the best I have eaten in my life. I always order snails, because almost no one makes them very tasty anymore. Pancetta tortelli, 10 out of 10 for the fabulous filling. My tagliolini with blackthorns were also worth it. I finished with a very fresh millefeuille and exceptional mascarpone. In my opinion, the bill was rather low, especially the 2 euro cover charge, which was really fair. The owner was always available. I don't go often because I live far away, but I recommend them with my eyes closed. Thanks, Federica, table for 3 people.
15/02/2026: Typical and super tasty dishes, we tried snails bourguignonne and even if they were not local they were delicious plus porcini mushrooms and a wild boar with polenta that was amazing

22/04/2026: Excellent selection of dishes, from fish to meat, all of which are top-quality.
Pizza is also available. The pizza served as an appetizer before the main course arrives is very popular.
12/04/2026: A restaurant of yesteryear, in a positive light, of course. Good food, a clean and well-kept atmosphere, excellent service, and a very good value. Recommended for anyone passing by. Special mention to the young woman who served us; she even recommended a larger table so we could put our helmets down!

14/04/2026: I went to this place hoping for a good experience. I hadn't been there since I was a kid, but unfortunately, it was somewhat disappointing. I ordered the tagliatelle with mushrooms, and much to my disappointment, I found an insect on my plate. These things shouldn't happen.
We also tried the tortelloni with ragù and the mixed grill, and I have to say we were still satisfied because the portions were generous.
The tiramisu was delicious.
25/03/2026: We stumbled upon it by chance. The welcome and service were more than excellent. The large pizzas were delicious, with a very light and easily digestible dough. Super excellent.

11/11/2025: Visiting Il Peperoncino felt like discovering a hidden gem tucked just a few steps from the bustle around the Leaning Tower. From the moment I walked in, the staff welcomed me with genuine warmth, setting the tone for a memorable evening. The décor is relaxed, cosy and effortlessly charming — the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable unwinding after walking the cobbled streets of Pisa.
The menu honours Tuscan and Italian traditions without resorting to tourist-trap clichés. I sampled the pasta with truffle and sausage (the famed “picci alla norcina”) and was struck by how boldly earthy yet perfectly balanced it was. The pizza was fresh, the seafood spaghetti generous and unpretentious, and the house wine poured nicely. Portions were satisfying and pricing pleasantly fair for such quality. Many fellow travellers praise the welcoming service and attention to detail.
If there’s a downside, it would be that, because of its proximity to the major attraction, bookings are wise—this place fills up. But that also means the high standard is not accidental. In short: if you’re in Pisa and want to dine somewhere authentic, friendly and delicious, Il Peperoncino is very hard to beat.

15/03/2026: My wife and I always enjoy going there. The location is welcoming, the food and pizza are always good, the prices are reasonable, and the service is excellent...nothing to complain about. Home delivery is always on time, too. We'll be back soon.
