17/06/2025: Unfortunately, my birthday party was terrible. Out of seven pizzas, some were burned, the dough was rubbery and poorly risen, and some had little to no toppings (especially the sausage and chips pizza for my niece, which was practically white). Was it an isolated incident? Well, my birthday was ruined, the pizzas were terrible, and my money was wasted. I'm sorry, I won't be back.

17/01/2026: We ordered six individual pizzas this evening and were told to pick them up at 9:00 PM when we called. However, the pizzas were delivered at 10:00 PM, with two small children at home and a woman waiting. So, booking and not booking are the same thing because the times aren't respected. Leaving aside this point, which on a Saturday might be understandable to a certain extent, but not for an hour, we opened the pizzas at home and found an ingredient missing from one. Another, which was a simple red pizza, found sausage on top, which is wrong due to contamination issues. Finally, the worst thing to do is to deliver a pizza with all the edges burned, which is carcinogenic.

31/01/2026: The pizza arrived almost 2 hours late. We asked the delivery guy why the pizzas were delivered late, and he replied, "Don't blame me, blame the pizza makers." I just wanted to ask. Then he asked our ages (we don't know why) and then said, "Speak calmly." But everyone was speaking calmly, and the delivery guy said, "This isn't Pakistani, it's Correggio." Being Indian, this really offended us.

11/11/2025: Visiting Il Peperoncino felt like discovering a hidden gem tucked just a few steps from the bustle around the Leaning Tower. From the moment I walked in, the staff welcomed me with genuine warmth, setting the tone for a memorable evening. The décor is relaxed, cosy and effortlessly charming — the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable unwinding after walking the cobbled streets of Pisa. The menu honours Tuscan and Italian traditions without resorting to tourist-trap clichés. I sampled the pasta with truffle and sausage (the famed “picci alla norcina”) and was struck by how boldly earthy yet perfectly balanced it was. The pizza was fresh, the seafood spaghetti generous and unpretentious, and the house wine poured nicely. Portions were satisfying and pricing pleasantly fair for such quality. Many fellow travellers praise the welcoming service and attention to detail. If there’s a downside, it would be that, because of its proximity to the major attraction, bookings are wise—this place fills up. But that also means the high standard is not accidental. In short: if you’re in Pisa and want to dine somewhere authentic, friendly and delicious, Il Peperoncino is very hard to beat.

02/02/2026: I came to eat with my girlfriend one evening. We ordered two pizzas, and within 10 minutes they were ready. The dough is very light, the toppings are generous and high-quality. Overall, they create a delicious and unique pizza, definitely worth trying.

18/03/2026: I ordered takeout: 1 ortolona, ​​1 parmigiana, and 1 porcini mushroom. Everything was good and the service was quick. It's a shame, though, that the mushrooms weren't porcini, but sautéed. (Disclaimer: I've always ordered from them and eaten there. I hope they'll pay more attention to reading the order next time.)

17/03/2026: I've only ordered two takeout sandwiches once, but I won't do it again. The staff is very rude and unhelpful. After several calls, the sandwiches arrived cold an hour and a half after the first call. I paid out of respect for the guy who delivered them, but when I called the pizzeria again to complain and ask for at least a discount on my next sandwich, they hung up on me twice. The first time they said the line had gone dead, the second time they even told me to go fuck myself! Congratulations!

10/01/2026: We went with The Fork, so it's excellent value. The fillet and potatoes were good. The owner was friendly. Next time I'll try the pizza.

03/12/2025: What can I say... we found ourselves eating with a colleague during our break from work, honestly nothing exceptional, for a self-service restaurant there was really very little choice, and the portions were also meager. For a plate of pasta with gorgonzola, a bresaola tartare, a soft drink and a coffee, more than €15 per person, truly exaggerated.
