08/10/2025: A historic venue. I've witnessed various transformations over the years (since the '90s), but it's always top-notch. The food is always excellent. The staff is friendly and approachable. Always ready to innovate and they never fail. I'd say, without a doubt, that in terms of food, it has no competitors.

28/09/2025: On September 27, 2025, I had a pizza with sausage and broccoli rabe, a beer, and to finish, I had profiteroles. Everything was delicious. I recommend the place, and the waiters are friendly and you can joke around. PS: I'm Enzo, a friend of Carolina.

09/09/2025: Nothing special, but overpriced! Paccheri with shrimp (shrimp cut into tiny pieces, 3 or 4 Argentine shrimp inside, tomato and ricotta sauce). Not even a bit of parsley on top. The flavor is okay, but not worth it for the price. Fried calamari with chicory on the side (a contrast between fried and boiled vegetables) doesn't sound very good to me. Sponge cake with lemon cream: okay. Will I be back??? No!

19/07/2025: A place for wine lovers. The owner is an expert in the field and quite friendly. The food is generally quite ordinary, although served with a certain arrogance, which obviously means the price isn't cheap. The pasta is undercooked, the vegetables are a bit bland, and the fish is also. Occasionally, there's a clever twist, but you need luck. On the plus side, the menu is easily adaptable to specific customer needs. The expertise in spirits is as good as the wine. In short: if you're going to eat to drink well...okay. Otherwise, forget it!

09/11/2025: When you find carefully prepared side dishes, it often means you'll find attention to everything... Handmade cappelletti, in broth, delicious. The same goes for the porcini ravioli. Excellent baked and gratinated potatoes. Not to mention the tiramisu and strudel. With great prices and commendable friendliness... They let us have lunch at 3 pm!!! Definitely worth a try! Thanks for the experience.

31/07/2025: L'atmosfera è accogliente e il personale è estremamente cordiale e disponibile. Il titolare (Guiseppe) è una persona fantastica, sembta di conoscerlo da una vita, disponibile in tutto e molto spesso mi ha offerto dei fuori menù. Ma il punto di forza del locale è senz'altro la cucina. In questo locale avrete la possibilità di gustare prodotti di mare e terra con degli ingredienti a km 0. 11/11/2025: Visiting Il Peperoncino felt like discovering a hidden gem tucked just a few steps from the bustle around the Leaning Tower. From the moment I walked in, the staff welcomed me with genuine warmth, setting the tone for a memorable evening. The décor is relaxed, cosy and effortlessly charming — the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable unwinding after walking the cobbled streets of Pisa. The menu honours Tuscan and Italian traditions without resorting to tourist-trap clichés. I sampled the pasta with truffle and sausage (the famed “picci alla norcina”) and was struck by how boldly earthy yet perfectly balanced it was. The pizza was fresh, the seafood spaghetti generous and unpretentious, and the house wine poured nicely. Portions were satisfying and pricing pleasantly fair for such quality. Many fellow travellers praise the welcoming service and attention to detail. If there’s a downside, it would be that, because of its proximity to the major attraction, bookings are wise—this place fills up. But that also means the high standard is not accidental. In short: if you’re in Pisa and want to dine somewhere authentic, friendly and delicious, Il Peperoncino is very hard to beat.

12/03/2025: The deep-dish pizza isn't bad, in fact. Perhaps some were a little undercooked. The tomato sauce was delicious, but I can't say the same about the cheese, which could be improved. The service was very friendly, patient, and attentive. Pickup was convenient. Overall, not a bad option.
