05/06/2026: The pizza is excellent and the atmosphere is welcoming, but some of the waitresses need to be more professional and smiley, not like they're just standing there and leaving their problems at home. People bring you money, not candy, so be more polite and not rude. Another sore point: when you leave pizzas on the tables, even if there are people you don't like, always smile, but don't throw them around like flying saucers. I noticed this kind of behavior last night and took the liberty of writing this post to improve the quality of service.

31/05/2026: Mediocre pizza, poor and rude staff, background noise, problems with air conditioning directed at some tables, nonexistent at others. I don't think I'll go back.

24/03/2026: Tropea, Lido Costa degli Dei, "Coast of the Gods" is a very nice small town beach. It has a beautiful sandy beach, located at the foot of the sanctuary of Santa Maria Dell Isola, a great place for a cloudless and sunny holiday.

24/05/2026: My wife and I were occasionally passing through Belvedere, where we were staying overnight, and the B&B host recommended this restaurant. It was 10:30 PM on a midweek evening in April, so not a very busy time. Nevertheless, we received attentive and attentive service from kind people who were concerned about making us feel comfortable. The food was very good, honest, fresh, without gimmicks or deception. The seafood salad was very fresh, without vinegar (which usually serves to cover up imperfections), with an unmistakable seafood flavor, excellent. The tuna steak was very well cooked, all washed down with an excellent wine at a very reasonable price. Calypso is one of those rare places where you find meaning among the people who work there, the pride and self-esteem in wanting to offer something good. We returned the next day, bringing friends with us and also trying the first courses... everything was very good! Well done!!

24/05/2026: Extremely good pizza made with a super-digestible dough and generous, top-quality toppings. The 75-minute wait was a little less satisfying. It's also our fault, okay, for being careless enough to arrive on a Saturday night at 9:25 PM. After waiting over 20 minutes, I got up to call the closest waitress to ask if I could order, because, having been seated at a table a bit "outside" of the center of the room, no one was coming. Overall, I felt that the service was much more focused on the central tables, closer to the entrance. Otherwise, really, nothing to complain about. Prices were normal.

The selection is vast, and despite the fact that it's always crowded, the wait is minimal thanks to the excellent organization. You'll realize the overall high quality when you digest the food perfectly and don't go home with the smell of fried food clinging to your clothes. Highly recommended.

25/09/2025: We were two couples and, upon arriving in Catanzaro, we found this restaurant almost by accident: a real discovery! The owner was extremely kind and gave us excellent recommendations. We enjoyed authentic, traditional Calabrian cuisine, with delicious and generous portions. The service was excellent, punctual, and always with a smile. The bill was also a pleasant surprise: only €26 per person for a quality dinner. Highly recommended!

30/04/2026: Dinner at the winter location. The chef comes directly from the school, so to try it, we resist the temptation of a fragrant pizza. A friend, however, does, and confirms: not only is it fragrant, it's delicious. A standard pasta dish, very good, and a grilled meat, along with the pizza, water and beer, for €50. The atmosphere is unparalleled: colors and languages ​​from around the world.

19/05/2026: I'm only reviewing the restaurant. It's actually the only one in the area open during the day. The pizzas are freshly made, delicious, and the service is friendly. The place is quiet, even though it's on the road.

25/05/2026: The best restaurant in tropea, so good that we had to go back 2 days later. One of the best meals I have ever had in my life you could not ask for more, lovely pasta, unreal swordfish and the tuna steak was the best cut of fish I have ever eaten. Atmosphere was also amazing, playing great music and off the main strip so none of the classic tourist trap stuff. Could not recommend more to anyone visiting Tropea
