16/08/2025: Yesterday we ate a wonderful pizza at this restaurant, which we've already known for other excellent dishes. The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff polite and helpful. The owner was always friendly and smiling. Bartolo was very knowledgeable and attentive. The same goes for Anna and the staff! Excellent value for money. We'll definitely be back!

09/08/2025: After booking, we arrived at the restaurant and were shown the free table. We waited about 10 minutes before being acknowledged and able to order. We initially asked for water, but that didn't arrive either. After 15 minutes, the waiter came to take our order and told me that if we hadn't ordered the exact same dishes, we wouldn't be able to eat due to the time it took (even though it wasn't crowded). After 15 minutes, the waiter returned and asked if at least the appetizers had arrived, which hadn't arrived, and he was also surprised. After waiting half an hour without receiving anything, we decided to get up and leave. I don't recommend it. *In response to what the owner wrote to me* Now I'll explain how the world works: I believe you're a very intelligent and cultured person, given that you own a functioning restaurant that's still open. Therefore, if you read my review carefully, I wrote various minutes, including 10, 15, and 15, which in my house equals 40 minutes, not 15, as it says. Indeed, I arrived at 9:00 PM and left at 9:40 PM without having used anything, not even the water, which was never opened and, I repeat, delivered late with a double request. Also, what was I supposed to pay for the cover charge? Since I didn't use anything? Enlighten me! Furthermore, the waiter was also shocked twice that nothing had been brought yet, so I don't think I was wrong in my judgment; in fact, it was he who pointed out (as you read above) that they couldn't prepare other dishes. Maybe she lives in the savannah, I think, since she wants to be a savannah lion, but she's nothing more than a keyboard warrior!!! She should be ashamed and examine her conscience. As you well know, she's a restaurateur and shouldn't use such tones towards customers because it gives bad publicity to the restaurant.

27/04/2025: La signora che mi ha servito è stata di una maleducazione unica. Non solo sgarbata, ma anche seccata ed infastidita dalle mie domande. Consiglio di servirsi in altri forni (ce ne sono tanti a Matera) in cui la gentilezza è di casa e sono ben disposti a dare tutte le spiegazioni e rispondere a tutte le curiosità sul magnifico pane di Matera.

13/07/2025: I returned as soon as it reopened after almost seven long years, and I must say the atmosphere remains the same. I've tried the pizzeria in Potenza several times and found the quality of this one in Scalera slightly lower. The pizza was thinner and far from the light yet crunchy dough I'd tried in Potenza. The service was a bit slow and less dynamic. However, since I returned two days after reopening, I'm forced to suspend my opinion. I'll definitely be back.

26/08/2025: A total disappointment. High prices that don't match the quality of the dishes. The overcooked tagliata tasted like a thin slice of meat, and the lemon scallops tasted nothing like lemon... the baked potatoes were just boiled potatoes... the Matera appetizer was disappointing... two slices of cured meat and the rest were pickles, so sad. All at an insane price...

11/08/2025: Horrible! We ordered a veal fillet and a lemon veal scallops. While waiting, I called the waiter and was informed that my fillet didn't actually exist, only a rib eye from some animal. After almost two and a half hours of unnerving waiting and constant complaints, I received a thin slice of meat that was nothing but FAT and the scallops were disgusting. I don't recommend it, but if you're a thrill-seeker, try it.

06/07/2025: Slow and inattentive service, unfortunately. The food disappointed me: low quality and dishes without personality. Too bad, because the place had potential.

21/08/2025: Aside from the pizza, which is good... the service is terrible. The people working there are always sullen and rude. By 8 pm, you can't find anything left; you have to order a whole pizza (they don't give you slices) and wait 40 minutes even if there's no one there (because if there are people, then you lose hope). There are better places in every way.

27/07/2025: I'll start by saying this is my first time here. It's a welcoming, fun place. The only downside is that the manager only played group dances until midnight, including ballroom and waltz dances and a few slow dances. Instead of playing a mix of music to allow for disco dances, when asked, he told us they have a set list. I'm sorry, but that's not how it works. He played some disco music after midnight. I've been to other places where there was a mix of everything throughout the evening. I hope this advice helps improve. The pizzas are good, the appetizers are good, and the grilled meats are good. I recommend it.

30/06/2025: We arrived at 11pm, the owner was sitting down to dinner and didn't tell us the place was closed!, end of story!

01/06/2025: San Pardo was amazing. We showed up late w large group of 20+ w no reservations. They seated us immediately and were so welcoming. The pizzas were medium size for Americans but prices were very good. Each person ordered their own pizza. They let me make a pizza and treated us like family. We got our food very quickly and it was delicious. All the pizzas were delicious. Teenager and adult approved. Best prosciutto I have ever eaten.
