09/04/2026: The restaurants in the small town near the airport were surprisingly delicious.

09/04/2026: Staff like the worst in Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares! Awful staff - waitress like an angry twisted wasp - so rude. You can’t order a drink when you arrive. Go somewhere else please. We have previously eaten at Cerva restaurant ( just round the corner ) which is very good but decided to give Samarcanda a try. Big mistake. Previous reviews had commented about the very bad attitude of the staff and they were so right! We arrived and were shown to our table. Waitress appeared after ten minutes - very sullen and grumpy. Asked if we were ready to order. We said not quite but can we order a bottle of wine and water while we decide. She said no - everything has to be ordered at once. We were a bit confused - are you saying we can’t order drinks while we look at the menu? We had walked round from the Holiday Inn so were a bit parched for water She was very rude - and insisted everything to be ordered at once. “So we can’t order drinks and starters and decide what we want after? Are you serious?” We decided we would leave. She got really nasty and walked away shouting abuse about us. I don’t speak Italian but do speak Spanish and the languages are similar enough to get an idea of the insults she was shouting. She was really being rude. We eat out a lot (maybe 3 or 4 times a week) and we have come to realise that a bad attitude at the start only gets worse. So we now reckon, if something is bad, just cash your chips and walk out! So that’s what we did! A man behind the bar asked us what had happened. We started telling him and the nasty waitress rushed up and started shouting over us. We were trying to explain we had just wanted to order a drink before ordering food - but waitress kept on shouting! The man behind counter was telling her to go away - and so were we. I told him - look at her behaviour - it’s like having a mosquito around you - she was jumping around shouting and shrieking like an angry wasp. Kind of hilarious actually - a bit Fawlty Towers. The guy kept trying to get rid of her, holding his hand up and pointing to her to go away and asking what happened. We thought the guy might sit us somewhere else and find us another waitress but when we finally managed to explain what had happened - and asked can we order drinks with food afterwards, he just shrugged. So we left….. To be honest, they probably did us a favour. We went to Cerva down the road where the server was on her own serving about ten tables but she was super efficient smiley, happy and welcoming. The Cerva food was excellent - like really home cooked, delicious quality and generous portions. Great wine only €10 for a litre carafe. Cerva is all round much much better than Samarcanda. The environment is a little more like a cafe - but the experience was excellent and there are lots of locals and friendly people in there - always a good sign. As I mentioned, we eat out a lot, and recognise that it’s not just the food - it’s the entire experience. I don’t know if the food is good or bad at Samarcanda- but it wouldn’t matter - I wouldn’t eat there again on our next trip through Milan and would definitely not recommend it. There is no point at all going out and paying money to eat with a waitress behaving like an angry wasp - so Samarcanda is up there as one of our worst ding out experiences. Do not - definitely NOT recommend!

25/03/2026: I love this place. The menu changes seasonally, but the dishes are always surprising. At the beginning of March, I chose the linguine with gurnard and cruschi peppers—amazing!

01/04/2026: My wife and son and I were in the beautiful city of Matera last week, and right below our B&B, we decided, at the recommendation of many locals, to try this excellent restaurant. We started with the traditional peperoni cruschi, then moved on to the excellent orecchiette with mushrooms and sausage and a traditional soup. But the real masterpiece was the dish that gives the restaurant its name: the Pignata. A pan covered in oven-baked bread containing tender and delicious sheep cooked for 18 hours with potatoes and carrots. We finished with a delicious, crunchy and bitter dessert. 29/03/2026: I've been to this pizzeria a while back and liked it. I went back and unfortunately found everything changed; I don't know if the management has changed since then. Last time, I chose the gluten-free pizza from the entire menu, but this time, the selection was very limited, and given the price, I expected more toppings. The woman taking our orders was quite rude and wouldn't let us make any changes to the pizzas (add ingredients). To top it off, we ended up with "p. Fritte" on the bill, which we didn't order and consequently didn't receive, but we paid for it! Unfortunately, we realized this too late when we had already left the place.

11/04/2026: A very, very nice place, cozy and welcoming. As are the people who work there. The staff are helpful, very polite, and attentive to the customer's needs (personal opinion)! We ordered two pizzas, and they were impeccable, I'd say. The wait was short despite the almost full capacity. It seems like someone really knows what they're doing in the oven... The dough is light and the toppings are of a good quality. For those of you who, like me, love tiramisu and appreciate the flavor of almonds... ORDER IT and enjoy it to the end.

14/02/2026: What can I say... super good pizza! 😍 The food at Pizzeria La Capricciosa in Donnas is truly delicious: light dough and super fresh ingredients. You can really taste the quality! The place is welcoming and the staff is incredibly friendly, they make you feel right at home. Fast service and fair prices. I'll definitely be back, highly recommended! 🍕✨

13/04/2026: A very pleasant dining experience with a very extensive and interesting menu, as well as a good wine selection. Perhaps considering it was a weekend, the service was a bit slow, but always very polite and helpful.

12/04/2026: Easter Sunday, the place was very cute and the staff were very kind. We had a bit of a wait, but that's okay for such a special day! We ate very well, with excellent appetizers and meats, with a wide selection. At the entrance, you can enjoy excellent cocktails with a great bar. Bathrooms with a changing table for babies. Convenient parking.

12/04/2026: Superlative for everything. Fast service. Friendly staff. I had Pasta Carbonara and it was a 10. The wine by the carafe was extraordinary. I also took a Pizza to take away. Prices? Normal, decent without the exaggerations of Venice. Thank you for the experience.

10/04/2026: I LOVED this place. We tried a lot of pizzas in Southern Italy, but this places has our hearts. Food is delicious. The waitress spoke fluently English, which made it easier for us. I already miss this place. Will definitely come back to eat here if I visit Venezia again.

The place has only a few tables, but it's pleasant, and the staff are friendly too. It's clearly a local spot, as we saw many people from the area eating there or ordering takeout.

15/03/2026: Fabulous pizza!! The menu offers many interesting options. As for the restaurant, we were seated just steps from the main building, in a small but charming gem called a cave. Just a few tables, a relaxing and intimate atmosphere. A plus for a perfect evening! The staff were friendly and professional.
