Dolce Stil Novo alla Reggia - Alfredo Russo

15/12/2025: A slight disappointment... The location is beautiful, and there's nothing to complain about, as is the chef's kindness. However, we found the dishes to be unsurprising, and that's fine—it's a matter of personal taste. However, in my opinion, the service wasn't up to par for a restaurant of this caliber. Here are a few examples. A waiter couldn't remember the name of the wine he was serving us with its pairing on two occasions, and a waitress, when serving us a dish, simply called a certain fish (the name of which I don't remember) "with artichokes." For all the other dishes, there was a fairly detailed explanation, but here it was just "with artichokes," as if she couldn't remember the rest of the ingredients. I don't know if the fact that the service was in English created any complications, but that didn't seem to be the case with the other courses. Furthermore, two people didn't eat meat, as specified when booking, and the amuse bouche were served before asking who the vegetarian ones were for—not a major problem, but one of those small inaccuracies you don't expect. Furthermore, the waiter pointing to the right dish in the wrong area of the table and saying, "So this one's for you!" wasn't exactly the best. Another minor flaw, in our opinion, was the wine pairing, which is indeed very cheap, but the glasses are truly tiny, with negligible quantities. In my opinion, it's better to align with other restaurants and charge a little more but with more generous portions, otherwise you risk annoying customers (at least that's what happened in our case). Finally, there was a small issue with a dessert, and the resolution was less generous than what I've seen at other less renowned restaurants... Offering the vermouth we ordered as a complement might have been a more appreciated gesture with a lower financial impact. In any case, lunch was an enjoyable experience, and overall the quality is good—I'm not arguing with that—but unfortunately, I have to say that this experience didn't leave me with the wow factor that would make me want to return immediately.
P.S. In response to your reply, I admit my disappointment, as I expected an acknowledgement of objective points I expressed respectfully, and a little less arrogant defensiveness. Furthermore, our only requirements were that we were two people who don't eat meat, no other changes were necessary, and especially not for desserts. I believe there was a misunderstanding. Our issue with a dessert was of a different nature, and out of courtesy and elegance, I won't describe it; I imagined this would have been appreciated.

24/10/2025: A very nice place, especially convenient for those passing through to visit the Royal Palace of Venaria Reale (less than a 5-minute walk). The piadina menu is extensive, with interesting combinations, and there's plenty to choose from, and the prices are fair and affordable. The staff is very welcoming and friendly.
17/10/2025: A cozy little place with a family atmosphere. A huge selection of piadinas, including vegetarian options, all at a more than reasonable price.

I really noticed the cleanliness and elegance of the uniforms, all identical, a custom that is unfortunately being lost even in high-end establishments. For an amuse-bouche, they served a savory amaretto with Toma fondue, with a distinct herbal flavor. Next came the baked goods, which I found excellent. Honey and buckwheat bread, breadsticks, and streusel tongues. The latter, which I tried for the first time, were truly sublime. Thin and fragrant. The citrus butter served with the baked goods was excellent. I began my meal with shrimp, orange, potatoes, and pumpkin puree. A dish with various delicate and sweet elements that clashed and paired well with the tart, citrusy notes of the raw orange. My only complaint was that there was too much orange on the plate compared to the rest of the dish. I continued sharing tagliolini and truffle risotto with my companion, along with swordfish fusillone, octopus cbt, and mushroom stew. The tagliolini were excellent, but the risotto was on another level. The best dish of the evening. Perfectly cooked and creamed, then the top-quality truffle completed an already technically perfect dish. The fusillone was delicious. First and foremost, the quality and, once again, the cooking of the pasta itself, then the sauce or emulsion that bound the dish together was fantastic. The aromatic notes of the pine nuts and the sweetness of the raisins were excellent. The swordfish released its flavor into the dish in a moderate and appropriate way, not overpowering but still complementing. Finishing with the crunchy note of the aromatic bread. The octopus cbt was unforgettable. Amazingly cooked. Crispy on the outside, so tender and soft on the inside that it melted in the mouth. Without a doubt, the best slow-cooked octopus I've ever tasted. Then came the mushroom stew. This mushroom sauce is the base, followed by toma fondue spikes, the same as the amuse-bouche, and roasted potatoes. The roasted potato is the real highlight, both in terms of presentation and tasting. The dish is overall beautifully savory, yet delicious. For dessert, we tried sweet ricotta and blue cheese panna cotta. The blue cheese panna cotta was unique and excellent. I also really enjoyed the candied celery, with its fresh notes. The blue cheese is noticeable, and is undoubtedly the main ingredient, but it doesn't steal the show from the panna cotta and the rest of the toppings. I would see this dish as a perfect complement to dessert, not as a replacement. I would include it in place of the cheese platter, which isn't needed here, but it helps to show where I think this dish finds its place. The sweet ricotta with peaches and dark chocolate, on the other hand, is a well-balanced and tasty dessert. To finish, coffee and some cookies, which I enjoyed so much that I bought a pack to take home. During the meal, we drank a full-bodied, sparkling white wine, Alta Langa DOCG, mostly Chardonnay, extra brut. It's my first time trying this wine, and it's excellent. The quality/price ratio is excellent. I'll definitely be back.

For our anniversary after visiting the Royal Palace, we went to this restaurant.
When booking, I requested the option of having a red rose for my wife at the table... and here are the photos... with a delightful surprise at the end: the dessert and the plate decorated by them with the phrase "Happy Anniversary."
You can immediately sense the special atmosphere of the place.
My sincere compliments to the entire restaurant staff, always present but never intrusive... attentive to every detail with impeccable and truly delicate service.
The restaurant is located right in the square in front of the Royal Palace.
I'm not posting photos of the dishes simply because there's no reason to publicize them, as they are sublime... I invite you to try them if you're in the area; you won't regret it.

16/11/2025: We stayed four days in Venaria and ordered from Casa Gabrielli twice: a truly perfect choice. The delivery service was prompt and the staff were extremely kind, always helpful and friendly.
The pizzas and farinata are truly excellent: top-quality ingredients, a light and easily digestible dough, and balanced and authentic flavors. The prices are also surprisingly fair for the quality offered.
We were completely satisfied with the experience: highly recommended! Make a note of it if you're passing through Venaria.

03/11/2025: I went for lunch on Sunday. There were four of us at a reserved table inside. You can also sit inside or outside, under the portico in Venaria's main square. The food was excellent. The cuisine was high-quality. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money. Recommended.

02/12/2025: I've been to this place and had a good time overall. We had a really long wait for our food to arrive, but since I've been here before, that doesn't happen often, so it must have just been a bad night. The gentleman serving us seemed annoyed, and he even made a comment that I didn't really like. A huge 5 stars for the girl in the white shirt, red hair, and lipstick, who was not only extremely professional but also very nice. I'd go back just for her!
