We were sent away shortly after 2:30 PM on the grounds that the kitchen was closed, even though many tables were still being served and hot dishes were being served. One of the staff, a blonde Eastern European woman, was unhelpful and very rude and impolite. We then returned about an hour later just to ask if it was possible to have at least a quick toast, but she again said no, while another colleague, much kinder and more understanding, told us that it would be possible to prepare one without any problems. Only after a discussion between them, were we finally allowed to sit. Despite this, we noticed that the next table was still being served hot dishes, which made the experience less than coherent. The only positive note: the helpfulness of one of the waitresses, who tried to accommodate us. The owner should be aware of all this, and of the rudeness of one of his employees (a blonde Eastern European woman).

04/04/2026: squalid experience, incompetent and rude staff, I got a toast that looked like a brick (my 5 year old brother makes them better), the food in general is of poor quality, you only get by because you are in the middle of the mountains and there are practically only you, the Triplex at cartoggi gives you three turns

18/07/2026: Let me start by saying that I understand the effort it takes to keep a business afloat, and for that reason I tend not to express negative opinions. A poor experience can always happen. After so many years, they'll never see us again. We've always gone to Rocce Nere in the summer for lunch and to relax under the umbrellas; the food has always been at least decent. This year, we're returning after making a reservation, as usual. We notice that the staff has changed; the waitress who served us was clearly inexperienced. The first surprise comes from the menu: only two first courses and two second courses; if we hadn't booked, we would have left. We ordered a first course and two hamburgers. The hamburgers came with a side of mashed potatoes, carrots, and zucchini. They looked like hospital cafeteria fare, and the side was bland; the vegetables were boiled. This alone would have been enough to eliminate the place from our favorites, but the worst comes later: the younger waitress, already not very polite in her manners, asks if we enjoyed it. My daughter politely said she didn't like it, and when the waitress was surprised, she reiterated that she hadn't meant to offend and that feedback should be accepted to improve. When the waitress returned to clear the table, she told my daughter it must be a problem with her palate, because no one had ever complained. I won't add anything else; anyone with a little education and experience of decent establishments can form their own opinion. We didn't even order coffee and went to get it, along with a dessert, at the restaurant next door. To conclude: a plus of the place, like the one I'm writing from now, was the availability of umbrellas for relaxing. There were plenty of lounge chairs, but not all with umbrellas like in past years. I asked if there were any available and the answer was no; for us, that was the main attraction of the place.

08/03/2026: Welcoming place, friendly and attentive staff. In the main room, there's a grill where the meat is expertly cooked to order. A wide selection on the menu, including wines. Excellent value for money. We'll be back!

12/04/2026: An 8-night stay at Hotel La Torre with half board. Unfortunately, despite the recently renovated and overall pleasant rooms, with a decent mountain view, the overall experience was extremely negative due to unprofessional management and, above all, a complete lack of transparency towards guests. The most serious issue concerns the bar, where we encountered incidents that to call unfair is an understatement. The prices charged did not match those displayed: a 0.40 bottle beer listed at €7 was effectively replaced with a 0.50 bottle (unsolicited) charged at €10. When asked for clarification, the staff was embarrassing, to say the least, denying the evidence and offering unreliable explanations, even going so far as to attribute the fault to the owner. The second equally unpleasant incident: a gin and tonic listed at €10 was paid €15 on the grounds that Tanqueray was a "premium spirit." Besides the fact that premium cocktails were clearly listed at €12 on the menu, this justification appears completely arbitrary and baseless. Situations like this completely undermine trust in the establishment. Another critical point: the large number of school groups, never reported at the time of booking. This significantly impacted the quality of the stay, with common areas often unlivable. Even a section of the bar, including the billiards room (already in poor condition), was reserved exclusively for these groups, preventing access to other paying guests. This is decidedly unacceptable management. Another lack of transparency: the spa, which is not located within the hotel, was not clearly communicated. The only positive aspects concern the restaurant service: the restaurant manager, Mr. Umbro, stood out for his professionalism, courtesy, and customer service. In an often chaotic environment, he managed to maintain order and quality service, without ever being intrusive—clearly a highly experienced professional. Our waiter was also always extremely kind, attentive, and cheerful, making our dining experience more enjoyable. The quality-price ratio for breakfast and dinner was overall adequate. In conclusion, a restaurant with potential but hampered by opaque management and a lack of customer service. I will not return, nor will I recommend it.

26/03/2026: One of the best places in Sauze D’Olux for drinks, food and music! Every night they have a live band/singer on. We visited here several times during our trip, and both times the music was fantastic. The band always gets the audience involved, and the song choices are always fun and enjoyable. English is spoken each time, so dont worry if you do not speak Italian! Staff are all friendly, professional and welcoming. Both times we visited we didn’t have a booking, and both times they managed to accommodate our group of 8 without an issue (even though the place was busy both nights)
Drinks are cheap, and the food is fantastic. Highly recommend the burgers, it’s one of their specialties. The pasta is also good, and if you’re feeling adventurous, the sharing steak is also incredible. This is one of the best places in Sauze D’Olux for food, drinks and atmosphere, we highly recommend a visit!

23/03/2026: Had 2 very different nights here. Watched a 4 piece band and had some drinks and the night was excellent. Band really good and atmosphere was great and audience all singing along. Went again 2 nights later hoping for similar but it was a male 'singer' who was distinctly cabaret and not very good so we left. Good range of drinks and table service. Overall was good but entertainment was variable in my experience.
