29/03/2024: Recommended by a friend and probably one of the best restaurants I’ve had the pleasure to visit. Tucked away on the edge of town and looking like the sort of place you would swerve, it really is an absolute must if you find yourself in Sauze d’Oulx. So good that we actually went twice whilst there for 5 nights! A very friendly and welcoming restaurant which specialises in both meat and fish. You have to ask for a table downstairs where the chef expertly chops away at a huge piece of beef before cooking on the open grill. The steak and fish were cooked to perfection and the lobster spaghetti was incredible, so much so that we ordered both times. The deserts were also some of the best over our trip. This is an absolute must try but make sure you book in advance and incredible value!!

26/02/2024: Taken from La Stampa 25 February 2024 Dirt and expired food, the Nas close "La Capannina" in Sportinia. The manager: “Everything is already in order” The raid by the carabinieri and ASL To3 technicians in the historic chalet in Sauze d'Oulx Encrusted kitchen stoves, a fridge that was leaking water, a few packs of milk that had expired a few days ago, food not stored correctly and a few pots stacked here and there. This is what the NAS carabinieri found, together with the ASL To3 technicians, during the inspection they carried out the other day at the La Capannina di Sportina chalet-restaurant, in the mountains of Sauze d'Oulx. Enough to order the closure of the historic venue at almost 2200 meters above sea level due to sanitary deficiencies until everything is restored. The refuge will be able to reopen its doors and welcome customers back to its tables only after a new inspection by the ASL inspectors who will have to certify the restoration of conditions.
