Esperienza sempre positiva all’Orto del Frate. Ci torniamo spesso ogni volta che saliamo, sia in coppia, in famiglia o con amici. È uno di quei posti dove sai cosa aspettarti: cucina semplice, porzioni giuste, ambiente rilassato. Il locale non è particolarmente caratteristico, ma è comodo e piacevole, perfetto per una pausa dopo una giornata sulla neve o per una cena informale. Niente di memorabile, ma mai una delusione. Un punto fermo affidabile a Sauze.

A special evening. The Piedmontese raclette is unforgettable, a sort of ritual. A red-hot steel disc arrives, where you cook the meat and cheese on top and underneath, eating everything hot and unhurried. A wide selection of fondues and raclettes, excellent ingredients, a true immersion in Piedmontese cuisine, all in a warm and charming setting. A wide selection of wines. And the bill is more than reasonable. They have plenty of seats, but obviously call a day in advance if you don't want to wait. They do, however, run a sort of "double shift."

Upon entering, you're struck by the heavy atmosphere of the place, amidst the melted cheese and the overheated oil of the bourguignonne. They're quick to serve, but you have to make the raclette yourself, so it doesn't take long. The only thing they have to do is serve boiled potatoes, but ours were cold and didn't look like they'd been cooked that day. The quality/price ratio is adequate, but nothing more.

Siamo subito stati accolti in maniera molto calorosa e familiare ( il locale si presta). Ci ha subito servito Andrea, consigliandoci in maniera perfetta per assecondare la nostra fame e voglia di provare cucina tipica dopo un viaggio in macchina di 4 ore. È stato super presente e attento, chiedendoci più volte se volessimo ancora qualche pezzo di carne/ patate per la bourguignonne/ fonduta. Siamo stati consigliati talmente bene che abbiamo ordinato una seconda bottiglia di vino, seguita da fonduta di cioccolato con frutta e amari. Abbiamo potuto vivere questa esperienza a pieno, rimanendo anche a chiacchierare con il responsabile, simpatico e affabile. Un posto davvero da provare, se volete sentirvi coccolati.
