25/11/2024: Ero stato alcuni anni fa, almeno una decina , d'estate, allora il rapporto qualità prezzo mi sembrava buono. Pranzo con amici, tavolata di 12 persone, accoglienza e sistemazione buona per non disturbare e non essere disturbati. Incuriositi abbiamo assaggiato molto fiduciosi non solo i nostri piatti Ma....... la battuta al coltello sembrava più tritata , mi sarei aspettato di più. La lingua tenerissima e bagnetto buono. Tagliolini col tartufo ..... un po' scotti ! Sopravvalutato il prezzo 65 euro Tagliolini con in funghi non mi hanno impressionato, non una esplosione di sapori Costolette di agnello buone "Tenerone" tipo stracotto un po' durone. Il cavallo non lo ho capito, e io adoro la carne di cavallo. Dolci discreti. Media degli ordini : 1 antipasto e 1 piatto, dolci presi in 6 su 12, giro di brut aperitivo (offerto) 1 magnum di Bacialè e 1 bottigla di Ruchè, 3 bicchieri di moscato, caffè. Conto +/- 79,1 a testa. Digerito benissimo. Allora: se non fossimo di Alessandria (anche se sparsi per il mondo) e non conoscessimo la cucina del nostro territorio potrebbe anche andare abbastanza bene perché non va male. Ma in Alessandria si può mangiare così spendendo meno o pagare così mangiando meglio. Ero entusiasta dell' idea ma da un posto così mi aspetto di più, semplicemente. Quindi do 3/10 perché i lati positivi ci sono, ma non siamo turisti stranieri, così ci siamo sentiti (strana sensazione). Non mi spinge a tornare ma cercherò di ritornare, perché gestire un ristorante è difficile, perché la domenica a pranzo è difficile, perché le critiche fatte e lette sono in linea con quanto da me sopra scritto ma devono essere un consiglio, non leoni da tastiera!

17/11/2024: We haven't eaten here for several years. We were excited and were not disappointed! The ambience, service and food are simply top. Typical Piedmontese cuisine with slightly different courses than in the “mainstream restaurants”. A reservation is mandatory.

27/11/2024: Ci aspettavamo un ottimo pranzo, e invece è stato anche meglio. Tutto curato nei minimi dettagli: piatti esteticamente perfetti, saporiti ed equilibrati, porzioni generose in comparazione agli standard del medesimo livello. Sopraffina la carta dei vini. Personale di sala cordiale e preparato, che fa dell’accoglienza un fondamento imprescindibile. Insomma, tutto perfetto, chapeau!

15/01/2025: Nestled among the Acqui hills is this modern osteria which offers traditional Piedmontese dishes together with a vast choice of local wines. The interior is welcoming and relaxing, a place suitable for groups and couples. We will definitely be back!

24/12/2024: I came two weeks ago with my family. Even though the restaurant was full, the service was very fast and the waiters were very helpful. One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten, nice soft but well cooked. The location is beautiful and makes you feel at home. My compliments indeed, well done!

22/08/2024: We stayed through a gift box and what struck us most was the family and convivial reality that we were able to experience. Staff helpful, kind and always ready to give advice on how to make the most of the places. Included in the experience were also tasting and dinner, both excellent for both the service and the quality of the products offered. Also worth highlighting is the excellent location for visiting the Langhe and surrounding areas.

20/08/2024: Very nice place, I went by booking a package which included a visit to the cellar with tasting and dinner. The story of the wines with the tasting made this experience a sensorial journey into the culture of Langhe wines, which was truly appreciated. The room furnished with its retro style feels very much like a "grandparents' house in the countryside", after all the place boasts a history of generations handed down from father to son. Pleasant dinner with local wine. Helpful and friendly staff. Very satisfactory value for money

14/01/2025: We occasionally return to this out-of-the-way restaurant, but which we really like! The food is always excellent with traditional, but not banal, recipes. The wine list is very extensive and Mr. Cirio's advice is always spot on. This time too we left saying "we have to come back as soon as possible"!

06/01/2025: Excellent Langhe cuisine (exemplary plin ravioli), warm and welcoming environment, kindness, courtesy and professionalism on the part of the owner and all the dining room staff, the sommelier Giulio impeccable in his advice to the customer. You couldn't wish for more. Congratulations to everyone! We can't wait to return... See you soon!

12/01/2025: Osteria does not give credit to the exceptional quality of the food, the presentation of the dishes and the service offered. We ate at the C'era una Volta osteria and will be back soon. Pleasant discovery. Outdoors you can enjoy a splendid sunset. The dishes have nothing to envy of a starred restaurant 👏👏 excellent quality/price ratio.

20/10/2024: It is a place that I recommend: beautiful environment, style and simplicity, kind and helpful owner and staff. We eat mainly meat. Service a little slow, but it wasn't a problem for us. I recommend making a reservation as it is not very big.

11/01/2025: Finalmente abbiamo trovato il tempo per regalarci una serata solo noi 2 ! Niente lavoro , un po’ di serenità . Ci è stato consigliato questo locale e devo dire che ci siamo trovati bene . Piatti classici, niente di nuovo che ha stimolato il nostro palato , ma abbiamo mangiato bene . Servizio attento e gentile e conto più che onesto .

01/12/2024: Da tempo non scrivevo recensioni su locali del Monferrato causa disillusione. Ebbne e' tempo di ricredersi. Detesto quello che e' il solito approccio di molta ristorazione del luogo: cibi grevi, eseguiti con rozza volgarita': sequenze di agnolottacci conditi con sughi d'arrosto che paion catrame, vitelli tonnati da autogrill, finte bagnecaude che ricoprojo tutto come melma, il tutto innaffiato da vinacci che ricordano piu' Superciuk che la nobile tradizione enologica. E cosi' via. Qua la musica e' completamente diversa: si tratta di un elegante locale, con personale impeccabile per tempismo, cortesia e competenza. I piatti poi sono la vera sorpresa: esecuzioni garbate, correttamente originali e di grandissima delicatezza. Ed ecco quindi dei delicatissimi agnolotti, una raffinata pasta con cardi e bagna caoda, un fritto all'italiana praticamente perfetto e cosi' via Completa il tutto una carta dei vini in grado di soddisfare qualunque ragionevole richiesta e, dulcis in fundo, un conto perfettamente adeguato, anzi conveniente Consigliatissimo

02/01/2025: Sabato 21 dicembre, capitati in questo ristorante, su suggerimento della titolare di un' attività commerciale di Castagnole Lanze... serata indimenticabile, sotto tutti i punti di vista : cortesia e professionalità del personale, ottimo cibo, un ' attenzione al dettaglio indescrivibile, il tutto condito da una passione immensa del titolare. 10 e lode !!! Un grazie da due acquesi che ritorneranno presto ...

20/11/2024: We got married on Sunday 8 September, a difficult day meteorologically speaking, yet the Vecchio Castagno fulfilled all our wishes! Between the beauty of the location, the attention to every little detail, the attention, the kindness of the staff and the beautiful "plan B", the rain literally took a back seat. We entrusted ourselves to Maria Grazia and Roberta knowing, from the first moment we met them, that we would be in excellent hands, they were impeccable, kind, helpful, unique!! The lovely place and the excellent and plentiful food, excellent quality/price! What can I say, we would like to get married again to relive all this ❤️ Simply thank you for making our day unique and unforgettable, we really couldn't ask for more!

12/11/2024: Fairytale wedding November 2024 We chose the Vecchio Castagno as the location for our wedding. From the first day we went to visit the estate and subsequently in testing the menu we found kindness, professionalism and excellent quality of the food. The availability of Mrs. Mariagrazia and Roberta struck us and therefore we chose to have our wedding there. On the wedding day everything was perfect, all the staff provided an excellent service and all the guests complimented the quality of the food and the beauty of the place. I would recommend this wonderful estate surrounded by greenery with an enchanting view to anyone.
