The restaurant "Le due lanterne" is situated in the heart of Nizza Monferrato (at Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi, were you can easily park your car). Since 2025 it has two new owners, a young and very committed couple with Andrea Cavallo as chef in the citchen and Valentina Torello as manager of service. We were there for the first time for lunch.
Andreas and Valentina renovated the guestrooms totally new and they did a great job. They are very chic, warm, modern and lightful. You feel yourself there as a guest from the first moment very well and welcome. For sure Valentina and her service team are beside the ambience the main reason for feeling so well - they do all together a great job. They are very kind, professional and overlooking. It feels very good to be their guests.
Andrea and his team in the kitchen cook simply fantastic. One of us had the Tasting Menue of four courses which was simply amazing. As starter we had a Tartare made of the meat of the local Fassone veal from Piemont, it was hand chopped, extremly fresh, perfectly seasoned and combined with Parmesan. Wow. Also the Pasta (Tajarin 40 Tuorli) with Ragu as Primo and the perfectly smooth braised veal as Secondo were outstanding. Very delicous was also the Green Asparagus with a perfectly soft-boiled egg and an amazing sauce - a special and wonderful vegetarian main dish. For dessert we had the famous local Bonet Monferrino, a fresh homemade Chocolate-Amaretto custard. Additional the restaurant offers many very good wines from the Piemont, everyone will find his or her special wine.
All together "Le due lanterne" offers fantastic local food and wine from Piemont in a real excellent quality with a very warm and overlooking service. It's the perfect place for special culinary Italian moments. The prices are very fair for the offered highly quality. The recommandation of the Guide Michelin is in our opinion absolutely correct. We are looking very much forward to our next visit there. Grazie mille Andrea and Valentina - alla prossima!!

Excellent Piedmontese cuisine and a superb wine cellar. Fast, attentive, and courteous service, generous portions. I enjoyed a truly delicious stuffed pepper appetizer, a first course of excellent ravioli with roast gravy, a second course of braised meat, and an amaretto semifreddo for dessert.

Superb hospitality and meticulous attention to detail: the service is attentive, friendly, and always present without being intrusive. The restaurant is meticulously maintained, with an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere and refined table settings; it's also dog-friendly.
The quality is evident in the cuisine: excellent ingredients expertly crafted, balanced and well-executed dishes. Extras that make the difference: complimentary entrées and small pastries (a treat that's almost impossible to find these days), as well as the kitchen's signature bread and focaccia, which are truly excellent. A place worth returning to.

5 stars without hesitation, well-curated local cuisine, let us recommend it! Excellent wines, impeccable service and courtesy, and a very quiet atmosphere with well-spaced tables, no music, and everything as it should be in a good restaurant. Highly recommended.

Starting with the always attentive welcome - discreet and with a smile.
Chef Andrea's dishes... what can I say: you'll want them again the next day.
From his most classic signature dishes (veal with tuna sauce/legendary agnolotti and braised beef) to the fish, a true new gem for a local restaurant.

The best restaurant in the area! I've tried so many different dishes and they're all fantastic... the desserts are the perfect way to end the evening. Excellent wine list and super friendly staff!
My absolute favorite dish is the scallops... try them!!
