04/10/2025: Fantastic local restaurant, run by a husband and wife. Frequented mainly by local Italians. Owner doesn’t speak English but very friendly and we were able to communicate. Wife cooks fantastic Italian seafood dishes and husband runs front of house, serving everyone. Beautifully cooked seafood dishes. Best compliment I can give is; we have been twice already and because it was consistently good we are going back again for lunch today. Highly recommend

11/10/2025: Historic restaurant, featured in the Michelin Guide several times. The open kitchen and well-stocked fish counter. The raw fish are nothing special, but I'm originally from Bari and am used to much higher standards. Various types of shrimp, the usual tartare. The raw cuttlefish needs a complete overhaul, and the red mullet fillet is tasteless... Very fresh oysters... The Trabaccolara (house specialty) is excellent. Delicious desserts. Impeccable service.

23/08/2025: A small restaurant with outdoor seating, a small room near the kitchen, a bit warm, and with the aromas of cooking and grilling that make the wait for your dish a pleasant torture. It might bother some, but not us. The grilled fish is plentiful and sublime, tasty, and the price is right for fresh fish.

02/08/2025: Prima volta da loro a cena in tre, su suggerimento di un’altro chef. Esperienza ottima, locale garbato in darsena, cenato nel patio. Maestoso crudo di pesce, spaghettini alle arselle fresche fa-vo-lo-si, un buon dentice al forno con le olive e patate. Tutto freschissimo e ben presentato. Servizio impeccabile fatto da giovani preparati. Abbiamo chiesto una bottiglia di vino inusuale e la temperatura non era perfetta. Prezzi accettabili in proporzione alla grande qualità. 05/10/2025: I honestly don't understand why people keep giving it five stars. The price is reasonable, but the quality of the fish is truly awful. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos to prove it, but the only options available were shrimp, cuttlefish, mussels, and clams...other types of fish were nonexistent (I went there on a Saturday night for dinner). The appetizer included one of those sauce-and-clam dishes you can obviously find in supermarkets; the fish was almost completely raw, whether grilled or fried. The fried fish, moreover, was inedible and tasted as if it had been cooked a while ago and then reheated. In conclusion, I didn't feel like I was eating fresh fish, but rather frozen, and even poorly cooked, if I may say so. Luckily, we didn't have a bad night. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't go back.

09/09/2025: Monday lunch with a friend, with whom we shared a seafood appetizer (six delicious selections) and a plate of delicious seafood spaghetti carbonara. I had a glass of sparkling wine, and to finish, we enjoyed a tiramisu and mascarpone cream with berries. 😊😊😊More than fair price. Highly recommended!

30/10/2025: A local spot, just a few steps from the sea! I had an amazing plate of pasta with mussels, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked followed by a mix of fried seafood that was light, crispy, and absolutely delicious. You can really taste the freshness of the ingredients and the care that goes into every dish. The sea breeze, the friendly service, and the relaxed atmosphere make the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for authentic coastal flavors and a laid-back seaside vibe, this place is a true gem. Highly recommended!

28/08/2025: Excellent place to try seafood. The octopus soup is very good, and the octopus is incredibly tender. The black tagliolini with octopus ragù is also exceptional. I'll definitely be back!

02/11/2025: Unfortunately, my experience at Buonamico was anything but positive. After lunch there, I realized I'd forgotten my sunglasses on the table. I immediately called and was told they'd been seen on the table, where I remembered leaving them, and to come by at a certain time to retrieve them. When I went to pick them up at the appointed time, however, I was told "nothing was found." I find it unacceptable that in such a short time, an item seen by the staff disappears into thin air, and that there was no responsibility or interest in clarifying the situation. It's a shame, because incidents like this completely undermine one's trust in a restaurant. I certainly won't be returning.

21/09/2025: Last night we discovered a real gem near the Darsena in Viareggio. The restaurant is striking for its elegance right from the entrance: it feels like entering the hall of a starred hotel, with rooms designed with attention to every detail and fine materials everywhere, from the floors to the coverings. After the welcome, you are accompanied to the upper floor: a spectacular terrace overlooking the sea, covered but with a sliding roof, which opens based on the weather. Unique, quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The tables are well spaced, which is rare and much appreciated. The menu is limited, but studied and based on very fresh raw materials: the catch of the day is visible on display on the ground floor, on ice tubs in view next to the kitchen. The wine list is simply endless, with the sommelier ready to guide you in the right choice - we relied on him for a Vermentino, very spot on. Impeccable service, kind and prepared staff, ready to answer any questions. Yes, the prices are those of a high-end restaurant... but so is everything else. An experience worth every penny. Perhaps one of the best restaurants in all of Viareggio. We will be back.
