22/08/2025: If you're looking for an excellent seafood restaurant in Stresa, Il Clandestino is a must-visit! The ingredients are top quality and the fish is incredibly fresh. We started with the yellowtail sashimi with Pantelleria capers and sea fennel, a true dive into the sea: the aromas alone take you to the shore, and the taste is simply outstanding. The other dishes maintained the same high standard of freshness and skill from the chef. For dessert, an exceptional tiramisu.
The chef is the true captain of the restaurant, expertly guiding both the kitchen and the dining room. Prices are slightly on the high side but completely in line with the quality offered. Highly recommended!
If you are looking for an excellent fish restaurant in Stresa, Il Clandestino is a must! The raw materials are of the highest quality and the fish extremely fresh.

Making a dish is not just cooking.
It is an ancient, silent ritual that begins long before the fire.
It begins when you choose the ingredients as if you were choosing the right words to say "I love you" without speaking.
Every gesture has a meaning:
the hands that wash, cut, knead, do not just put order among the aromas, but tell a story.
A story that smells of home, of memories, of people who perhaps are no longer here, but who return, even if only for a moment, in the scent of the sauce that simmers slowly.
There is attention to every detail.

19/08/2025: The food is quality. The price on Monday and Friday for dinner, including dinner at our house, is fair. The service is fast, and everyone is friendly. The space is large, and during the first hour (around 12:00 to 13:00), there's a lot of noise and you can barely talk. But after that, it's really nice.
17/08/2025: We went on August 15th. The à la carte menu was good, but the prices were higher than on other days (which is understandable). Nice place. The lunchtime workers' menu was €14, and in the evening, three full menus were available for €35, in addition to the à la carte menu.

13/06/2025: As soon as we sat down at the table, they immediately told us about the fresh ones they have and recommended... (sea bass, lobster, scallops and oysters). Scallop carpaccio, even though it was in the mountains you could still feel the freshness in your mouth! and Sea bass in salt, truly exceptional!! I recommend trying it!

24/08/2025: We had dinner for two in August.
Two veal with tuna sauce, a mixed fried fish, and pasta with clams for €83 (with just a bottle of water).
The problem, besides the prices, is the quality of the food: the veal with tuna sauce tastes like the one you get at the supermarket, the pasta with clams is washed out, and the fried lake fish is full of fish bones and inedible.
The service is impersonal.
The only redeeming feature is the lake view, which is lovely.
Highly not recommended; don't go!

09/05/2025: In cerca di un locale per cena ci siamo imbattuti in questa struttura,accomodati al nostro tavolo ordiniamo ciò che è menzionato nella foto dello scontrino. A dire di chi era con me era tutto buono,purtroppo tranne le mie tagliatelle alla bottarga,completamente insapore....peccato,probabilmente è stato un'incidente di percorso,devo ammettere però che il vino era eccezionale anche a detta di chi era con me.

27/07/2025: We sat inside the restaurant, where the decor was traditional and very cozy.
We ordered pizza.
It's a traditional Neapolitan pizza with a thick crust, which can be made in many different variations upon request.
We really enjoyed the pizza!
We would recommend the restaurant to anyone who enjoys stone-baked pizza.
26/07/2025: We had a really good meal at Lo Scalo! Everything was consistently delicious. The Pasta Frutti di Mare is especially recommended – perfectly balanced, with plenty of seafood, and simply amazing flavor.
You can easily enjoy three courses here because the quality is consistently impressive, from appetizer to dessert. One of the better restaurants on the promenade – a little more expensive, but absolutely worth the price.
Great food, friendly service, and a lovely atmosphere – we'll definitely be back!
