I recommend having lunch to enjoy the lake view.
27/04/2025: My husband I have eaten here twice, several years apart. The food is consistently delicious. Best risotto either of us has had. Delicious lemon sorbet. Service impeccable. Both mu husband and I have gluten allergies and was easy to have lunch here. Highly recommend.

29/04/2025: Restaurant with a nice atmosphere and extremely friendly staff. 😃
We had two very large mixed salads and were served pizza rolls and crispy focaccia pieces offered by the house. The calamari fritti and vegetables were also excellent and the tiramisù tasted good. Price-performance ratio is right, we recommend it.
27/04/2025: Preso 2 pizze gommose con i frutti di mare con 3 pezzetti di pesce 15 euro cadauna ,birra media schifosa 6 euro,coca cola e 2 caffè 48 euro mai più!!!!!

26/05/2025: If you are asian or people of color, you will be only sent to small seperate area. They never allow you to seat at main area even if seats are available. You should read through reviews in the past. this is so ridiculous. i cant believe this still happens in this era.
21/05/2025: Was one of my best meals in a two week trip in Italy. The staff was very accommodating to kids. The food was out of this world good! A must try if staying in Varenna! We got the duck and the ravioli!

15/05/2025: We went for lunch with friends. Excellent risotto, perhaps a little small portion. The pizzas also tell me. Nice location with lake view. Average prices. The outside area could use a bit of a makeover
20/04/2025: You can drive upto 400 meters near the restaurant where there is free parking available. The restaurant itself is inside a small side road. The place is big and can seat a lot of people. Lot of tables havea great view to the Lake and mountains.
Staff was very friendly and the service was good. Food was great and had many seafood and lake fish options. Their Tiramisu is great.
For any tourists who are not familiar with a cover charge in Italy, a service charge per person is charged. It was 2.5 euro per person

We waited 1 hour for the dishes to arrive (despite being told that the waiting time would be "less than 40 minutes"). Spaghetti alla cave totally raw and pizza dough topping that could easily still be rolled out. I can get enough bread and the service is absent and oblivious to the inconvenience.. in fact we were not even given a €1 discount for the inconvenience. We will definitely not be returning.
03/05/2025: I have been to this place several times, both as a couple and in a group and I have always had a great time.
The pizzas are excellent and the fish dishes are fantastic, the service is very good.

24/01/2025: Cogimos el ferry de Argegno a Varenna, que es bastante barato. Definitivamente necesito buenos zapatos para caminar como un montón de caminos irregulares. Solo un paisaje muy hermoso y tantos lugares agradables para almorzar. Pasamos 4-5 horas explorando. No te decepcionará Varenna.

Ahimè solo le atmosfere letterarie si salvano.
per il resto cibo mediocre, servizio con lacune e prezzi elevati.
08/05/2025: Il locale in sé è internamente molto semplice ma elegante, mentre esternamente sono presenti alcuni tavoli vista lago, che permettono di consumare la cena in compagnia di una magnifica visuale.
Il menù è abbastanza vario, anche se sono presenti pochissime opzioni “del territorio”.
I piatti serviti sono risultati buoni (anche se scarni nelle porzioni), tranne il fritto di lago, che è stata una vera delusione, considerando anche il costo.
Il personale a mio avviso è stata la parte peggiore (che mi ha fatto decidere di dare un voto più basso di 3 su 5) frettoloso, poco attento e talvolta scorbutico (un esempio: alla richiesta di un calice per il vino, non è stata neanche data una risposta ma solo un cenno con la mano, come se non fosse una richiesta importante).
Mi spiace però per me è fondamentale che il personale sia gentile e disponibile con i clienti, magari abbiamo scelto la serata sbagliata in cui cenare presso questo ristorante.
