03/04/2024: I was struck by the goodness of the fish but also by the fried foods and finally by the desserts. The environment is welcoming and the staff friendly.

29/03/2024: We ate a wonderful spaghetti with seafood and a nice fried prawns and calamari. Really tasty food. Kind, quick and friendly managers and waiters. Very good price, considering that there were 6 of us and we also drank 2 bottles of wine, water, consumed 5 sorbets and a strawberry salad plus a couple of coffees, 25 euros per person. Absolutely competitive price

22/03/2024: A pleasant interlude in the neighborhood. The first courses were excellent and plentiful. The price is normal, if referring to the fish, but I would have expected a little less, if referring to a local market restaurant.

18/03/2024: Questo ristorante lo frequentiamo da anni:per compleanni o eventi importanti ci rechiamo sempre lì. Cibo buonissimo preparato con il cuore. Abbiamo preso scialiatelli falpesca,pasta alle vongole,frittura di calamari e moscardini,pesce spada alla griglia e sorbetto al limone. Tutti i piatti sono il top,le porzioni sono abbondanti ed il servizio è rapido ed efficiente. Si sta bene anche nei tavoli fuori perché ci sono diversi funghi a riscaldare l'ambiente. Continueremo a frequentare senza dubbio questo ristorante.

03/04/2024: We wanted to celebrate our birthday there. Many of the Vongole are not open and are already old, unfortunately the waiter didn't make any effort either. He brought the wrong plate for the main course and didn't apologize but made excuses.

03/04/2024: *UPDATE MARCH 2024* I went to this place a week ago and discovered that the management has CHANGED for 2 years... and this clarified the discrepancy between the negative reviews and my positive experience. The menu is not very extensive but very refined and updated according to the seasons; the staff is very kind (the waitress Giulia really deserves a tip!); the cocktails are created by them (I even found those with tomato, a rarity!). The only less positive note is that the environment is very nice but could do with some tidying up, however it is FANTASTIC that even though you cook the fried food, your clothes DO NOT stink when you go out (which always happens, even in the most famous restaurants). I will go back and recommend it!

21/03/2024: Ottima qualità del pesce, l'antipasto un pò minuto, ma con buonissimi assaggi.Il primo strepitoso abbiamo preso uno gnocco gamberi e pesto di basilico e una pasta Toscana con fave pecorino e gamberi(Divina)..Una grigliata e patate arroste.Veramente da provare.

28/01/2024: Accogliente e riservato, guidato dalla simpatia di Maurizio che consiglia generosamente le sue originali proposte. Ottima la tartare di ombrina ed avocado, imperdibili gli involtini di verza e mazzancolle, un'esplosione di profumi e sapori la pasta è fagioli ai frutti di mare con spolverata di tartufo. Buona la carta dei vini, adeguatissimo il conto per una cena che si fa ricordare.

For this price you can find better

Overall, "Il Sorriso" stands out for the quality of the food, the efficiency of the service and the attention to customer satisfaction.

03/05/2024: We were invited by two couples of friends to this charming property. The dishes were very good even if the waiter made a mistake by confusing the order of two first courses. The second courses were excellent and to finish the dessert.

06/04/2024: Excellent seaside restaurant in Ostia. Mainly fish but with a couple of land choices in the starters, first courses and second courses. We chose the fish which was fresh and cooked and served in a way that was not at all obvious... nice innovations with classic raw materials of excellent quality. Accurate but not intrusive service. Prices a little high but worth it.
