21/11/2025: THE GREAT UNKNOWN We've tried to eat at this place six times... but unfortunately, we only managed once: the other times, it was either full (4 times) or closed. The problem is, they never answer the phone. We've tried hundreds of times on various occasions (both during opening hours and right around them... but never a response)... It's a shame, because when we did manage to do so, we found excellent food... but it's no big deal: on one of the many occasions we were left empty-handed, we discovered "La Canociada" nearby: the food was of the same quality (excellent), there was a wider selection, and, most importantly, they answered the phone, thus avoiding any unpleasant inconveniences.

27/09/2025: A fantastic place, the food is excellent, the service is very attentive, and they make you feel good. In the warmer months, sitting outside is a fabulous experience. For special occasions!

25/09/2025: Having been to Grado once a year since 2019, a meal at Il Canavon is simply a must...we made a reservation through the hotel as usual. When we arrived...quickly, "have a reservation." Yes, we'd like to sit outside, there were three tables free...No, it's not possible, you have to sit inside...fine. After a long wait, a waiter came with an iPad. There were four of us and we wanted to pay separately, which was a bit inconvenient. In the meantime, other guests, including us, took their seats and received their drinks before us...service was surly, curt, and you felt like you were disturbing anyone. The food wasn't bad, but it was poorly presented...the shrimp hadn't had their intestines removed, which wasn't very appetizing...oh well. When paying...the waiter said, "Go to the cashier, I don't know who's paying with cash or card"...even though it had been agreed upon beforehand. We were very disappointed and are considering going back in the future. There are plenty of options in Grado...a real shame, because the place is really great. We were really looking forward to this evening, especially to showing our friends this restaurant. P.S. We noticed that the management doesn't respond to reviews, neither positive nor negative.

24/09/2025: Update 2025: After eating here for many years, this time the service was so unwilling and without a smile that we (there were four of us this time) wondered what was causing so much grumpiness. OMG, rolling eyes, no drinks served for a long time, probably a mistake by the chef who didn't devein the shrimp, and then a harsh tone when paying. A few streets away, we had friendly service and excellent food on three evenings. So we know where they won't want to see us again in the future, what a pity for this lovely restaurant! Previous reviews... we've liked it here for years and have always been satisfied. Lovely courtyard in a narrow alley.

24/11/2025: REPORTABLE! We went to this restaurant—if you can call it that—for Sunday lunch. When we arrived, we waited 20 minutes just to order: there were only two waitresses in the dining room, and the place was filling up quickly. For our first courses, we waited over an hour. When we asked for information, we were told, "They're plating up." Confident, we waited another 15 minutes... until we noticed that the tables that arrived after us were being served, but ours still hadn't. We asked for an explanation again, and the lady told us exactly: "I'm sorry, but your order hasn't arrived in the kitchen." In effect, our dishes would never arrive. No attempt to make amends, no alternatives, no concrete apologies. Nothing. We left, shocked. We arrived at 12:30, left at 2:20, without having eaten. A situation like this had never happened to me, and I hope it never happens to anyone. Avoid this place like the plague.

18/10/2025: People stroll by and you have a drink. Nothing more, nothing less! The staff are correspondingly apathetic, not to say dismissive.

10/10/2025: I used to be a guest here, but the unfriendliness is getting worse every day. It takes a long-time guest to get so annoyed. On top of that, the waiter threatened me with physical violence. So, I can only say one thing: No matter the situation, and even though the food is quite good, avoid.

06/08/2025: Sempre eccellente.. antipasto di crudo crudo ed ancora crudo ottimo ed accompagnato da un favoloso wasabi. Pizze gourmet eccellenti, l’omaggio alla regina Margherita ha un pomodoro sontuoso.

24/07/2025: Personale sempre cortese ed attento, ci hanno trovato un tavolo in pochi minuti, purtroppo rispetto agli anni precedenti dove trovavo una giusta qualità con dei prezzi onesti, riscontro un aumento di prezzi ma una diminuzione della qualità almeno nel reparto ristorante.

09/11/2025: I never write negative reviews, but the lady at this place made me blush. I went in to ask if they could serve us something to eat, considering it was 2:00 PM. The lady ignored me, and when I approached her to ask, she snapped, telling me she was alone and that I could go somewhere else. Which, of course, I did, since there's no shortage of good places to eat in Grado. So I can't fault the food and drinks, but if they treat their customers like this, I don't think it's a good thing.

19/10/2025: Received something different than what I ordered - response: they changed it without noting it on the card, no apology or other concessions...

13/08/2025: Returned after a few years and found the facility dilapidated and the fish was of low quality. Not recommended.

07/08/2025: Excellent seafood restaurant. The grilled calamari was delicious, as was the spaghetti alla marinara, which was tasty and well-made. The fried calamari was also light and crispy. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. We recommend it.

27/08/2025: We ate at the restaurant today, and the servers were all very attentive and friendly! It was completely packed, but everything went quickly, and the food was excellent. We'll definitely be back!

19/08/2025: Breakfast was poor. Being Italians, we prefer sweet foods, but at this hotel, breakfast was mostly savory. They had more cold cuts than sweet options. Only two types of croissants, and rarely any cakes. Service was almost nonexistent. We constantly had to alert the staff when water and cups were out.

04/11/2025: We stopped for lunch, a small group, and ordered spaghetti with clams for everyone...,,,, good! But the pasta was a little sparse, the clams were plentiful, and the price was a bit high for my taste. Anyway, the prices are clearly displayed, and there are no surprises at the end! It's really nice outside...

02/11/2025: Decent food for an exorbitant price. The right place if you want to be charged 70 euros for a Branzino.

30/09/2025: During the renovation we were given rooms on the top floor without a lift and still to be renovated under the roof not exactly a nice value to see living and above all paying other people on the lower floors everything was ok maybe we were the unlucky ones and in any case we were not warned of the differences in quality of the rooms by the manager

10/02/2025: It's beautiful here! If you're tired of touristy Grado, come here. A picture-perfect tavern: quaint, with excellent and delicious food, served promptly, the owner is right there with you, and the staff is quick and friendly. You won't find the snobbery you find in many other places here. I'm absolutely thrilled!
