21/11/2024: Rimango molto dispiaciuto di non poter essere venuto in questo locale in quanto avendo ricevuto un regalo Smartbox al momento della prenotazione vengo informato che questo tipo di pacchetto loro non lo supportano! Non so quale sia stato il disguido ma dal momento che un locale aderisce ad iniziative tipo Smartbox devono anche tutelarsi che queste abbiano un esito!

10/08/2024: 2 keer hier gegeten. Eerste keer vlees, 2e keer pizza. Beide keuzes zeer goed bevallen. Ontspannen sfeer, goed eten, ruim terras. Alles top

29/07/2024: Outstanding! We spent a few weeks in Tuscany, seeking out the best restaurants we could find. We ended our trip with a week in Castellina in Chanti and came across Osteria Volpaia a short drive away. Despite having visited a handful of Michelin restaurants during our stay, this stood out, by far, as the best resturant we came across. We booked to visit on the Tuesday evening, hoping to try the tasting menu, not realising that this menu would need to be booked in advance. We were initially apprehensive to book the same restaurant for a second night to try the tasting menu, but after only a mouthful of the Duck Ragu, I was convinced that it would be worth it. By the time we got to the Pistachio Gelato (worth a visit all by itself) we were discussing cancelling other reservations later in the week so we could be sure to be able to return. We returned on the Friday evening, our last evening in Tuscany, to be greeted like old friends. I understand that the menu varies depending on the season, and the ingredients available at the time, as everything is sourced from their own kitchen garden and local meat providers. We received an 8 course menu, which was truely outstanding. There are some dishes that I would normally not order on a menu, as I am generally not a fan of fish or pork, however there are certain chefs with whom you know you are in safe hands and I would not have missed any part of this menu. Every part was perfect, and with every bite it was obvious that Filippo is not only incredibly skilled, but also passionate about making beautiful food. Martina and Asif were incredible hosts, and despite each course seemingly being ready as soon as we were ready for it, we ended up spending almost 5 hours at the restaurant, chatting with them about food, learning about the ways in which it was prepared, discussing the beautiful wines, and hearing about life in Volpaia. I could not speak more highly of the entire experience. We certainly hope to be able to return soon.

28/07/2024: Siamo andati in otto amici per pranzo e siamo rimasti tutti estasiati da questo ristorante. Da dove cominciare? Il menù è molto interessante, con piatti della tradizione locale, ma anche piatti con verdure dal loro orto cucinate con grande maestria. Abbiamo apprezzato la fiorentina grigliata in modo perfetto, ma anche l’eccellente risotto con zucchine e burro di arachidi (lo raccomandiamo), gli antipasti con lingua o roast beef, la vellutata di finocchio con porro fritto e ravanello fermentato (sublime) e la meravigliosa insalato al forno con carota in agro, demi-glacé di verdure e miso di ceci. E i dolci? Divini, provare la panna cotta di zucca ed il gelato artigianale. Lo staff è molto cordiale e ci ha trattato benissimo. Ma non possiamo dimenticare il vino! Top, top, top! Il Chianti naturalmente, ma anche lo spumante e il loro vermentino, prezzo più che abbordabili. Dobbiamo dire che in una giornata molto calda è stato estremante piacevole poter scegliere anche piatti con verdure, con il lusso che provengono direttamente dall’orto! Da provare assolutamente!!! Rapporto qualità/prezzo eccellente.
