19/07/2026: Found due to the good reviews, my partner and I dined here last night. We were greeted very warmly by the very kind waitress. We had a truly delicious and tender Cannonau-braised cheek, and a very good Margherita pizza.

17/07/2026: We stumbled upon this place almost by accident, and it was a pleasant surprise. We had a wonderful time and ate very, very well. My husband still thanks us for the pork cheek 🫠🫠🫠, top potatoes!! I really wanted to try the tiramisu, which looked delicious, but unfortunately, I didn't have any room left. I hope to go back to try it. Ah... the pizza!!!! Speaking as Neapolitans do, it's really good!!!! Congratulations

24/07/2026: We had a great experience at Ristorante Barbagia. The restaurant was busy, which is why I would definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. The staff were hardworking, friendly and very fast, always making sure everything was taken care of. We ordered the traditional Sardinian Porceddu (roast suckling pig), and it was juicy, tender and full of flavour. I also had the boar, and it was exceptional. The meat was incredibly soft, juicy and literally melted in my mouth. The potatoes served with the dishes were also excellent and perfectly cooked. We also tried the salmon pasta, which was delicious and full of flavour. One thing that really stood out was the portion sizes, which were very generous and definitely worth it. Overall, we highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Olbia. The food, service and atmosphere were all excellent, but make sure to reserve a table in advance because the restaurant is almost always full.

07/07/2026: Ingredients were very fresh, and service was good. However, a couple of issues: the fregole was cooked more like a risotto than a pasta, which was disappointing. Portions were fine for a fine dining setting. The bigger issue: a kids’ plate with just 3 meatballs and fried potatoes was priced for €30 — we mentioned it and they reduced it to €26, but that’s still unacceptable for what it was. I don’t recommend this place for families with kids.

11/05/2026: Located on the harbor, the view is a delight for the eyes. Unfortunately, the dishes offered don't live up to expectations, except for the truly excellent charcuterie and cheese platter. The service is efficient and attentive...despite the "hefty" bill, I'll give this place another chance...if only for Marco Predolin's friendliness!

07/07/2026: There were 14 of us (including a woman with celiac disease) for both lunch and takeout for dinner. We ate really well at lunch, which was reasonably priced for what we ate, with a bottle of white wine. In the evening, we ordered 13 pizzas and an octopus dish for just over €11 per person. The takeout also included a free drink each. I highly recommend it.

08/07/2026: A must-visit when we arrive in Sardinia. The staff is cheerful and professional. The food is impeccable, both in the flavor combinations and the presentation. A top rating (like every year). My favorite is the risotto, paired with a good wine.

05/07/2026: The restaurant offers a small food menu, the pasta I ordered was not very impressive, but the seafood was quite good. It is hard to find a good restaurant in Sardegna. The atmosphere and service were good.

01/07/2026: Absolutely avoidable. Four of us arrived at 8:00 PM. We waited two hours for two pizzas, and one was small and poorly made. The other two dishes never arrived, and we left at 10:20 PM. They had the nerve to charge us for the drinks and the two pizzas instead of apologizing for ruining our evening.

27/06/2026: We absolutely loved it! We stumbled upon it quite by chance, and we were so glad we did! The service was top-notch, the place was adorable, and the food was delicious with excellent value for money. We found ourselves surrounded by locals, a sure sign of a great place… 10/10!

25/07/2026: I've been to this restaurant several times, including for a birthday. Each time, I've been met with kindness, helpfulness, and friendliness from the staff who welcomed us and served us throughout the evening. They were attentive to every detail despite the summer chaos. We were particularly impressed by the friendliness, kindness, and professionalism of Vanessa, the woman who served us throughout the evening. The food was quality! I highly recommend it and will definitely return! Everyone, including the chefs, was brilliant.

24/07/2026: Every time I come to Italy I feel welcomed, except here. Low quality service, despite that they are servicing other people perfectly, shrimps not fresh.. never felt discriminated against ever in this country except at this restaurant. If you’re not white, trust me, they will never give you the time of the day.. miserable quality of service…

26/07/2026: A positive experience. The food is good, with tasty dishes prepared with quality ingredients. The place is pleasant, and the service is attentive. The only area that could be improved is the wait staff: the waiters, while very courteous, come to the table a bit too frequently, sometimes seeming a bit intrusive. Overall, a good experience, and I would definitely recommend it.

05/07/2026: Essenza Bistrot. A restaurant that has perfected itself. From the outside, you could easily drive right past it. An unassuming facade, a house number – nothing more. Then the door opens, and everything changes. The space is meticulously designed. Every accessory has its place, every object its function. A world map on the wall, wine crates as shelves, wood and stone in perfect balance. This isn't by chance. This is "control as a passion." You can tell the owner has a "penchant for perfection." She goes from table to table, checking everything, not detachedly, but with a look that says: This isn't just something I take for granted. This means something to me. A rare sight. The "greeting from the kitchen" is already a statement. Pizza Pala, long fermentation, tomatoes, mozzarella, anchovies, capers. Homemade bread that tastes like poetry. Spaghetti with lobster. Stuffed pastries. Calamari fritti. Everything is of the highest quality, everything tastes magical. The service is pleasant and friendly. Almost too deferential. You can tell: These people want exactly what the owner wants – for everything to be perfect. It's not just warmth. It's dedication to an ideal. Truly wonderful. Then there's a man sitting at the next table. Alone. And he's eating. Calmly, attentively. He uses his phone frequently, but not frantically, not addictively. Simply present with his food and simultaneously connected to the world around him. And I wonder: Would I do this if I were single? A restaurant of this caliber, alone, to be with myself – without it having to feel lonely? The answer: "Yes. Right now." That's the moment I understand what Essenza truly is. Not necessarily a restaurant for two or for many. A restaurant for you. For your relationship with quality, with taste, with yourself. The owner understands this. She's created a place that forces you to be alone with yourself – whether you're sitting alone or with someone else. Whether that's control or wisdom remains to be seen. But "it works" 😉
