Typical Sardinian restaurant, very noisy

We had a great experience at Ristorante Barbagia. The restaurant was busy, which is why I would definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. The staff were hardworking, friendly and very fast, always making sure everything was taken care of. We ordered the traditional Sardinian Porceddu (roast suckling pig), and it was juicy, tender and full of flavour. I also had the boar, and it was exceptional. The meat was incredibly soft, juicy and literally melted in my mouth. The potatoes served with the dishes were also excellent and perfectly cooked. We also tried the salmon pasta, which was delicious and full of flavour. One thing that really stood out was the portion sizes, which were very generous and definitely worth it. Overall, we highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Olbia. The food, service and atmosphere were all excellent, but make sure to reserve a table in advance because the restaurant is almost always full.

Excellent experience! From the outside, you'd probably never stop by if you're looking for a good place to eat, but it was a very pleasant surprise. The food was truly generous, the quality excellent, and the prices more than fair. Highly recommended!

We got a tip for this restaurant from our local host. We ate there many times during our stay. It was always a gastronomic experience. Better to make a reservation for the evening. I go a lot with locals. Even though it has a 4.3 it is at least 4.7

A must-try every time we pass near Olbia! One of the best restaurants we've ever tried! The staff is attentive, helpful, and friendly. We've tried the entire menu over the years, and it's all excellent, but our favorites, which we always order as staples, are the maharrones de busa with wild boar sauce, malloreddus alla campidanese, and malloreddus with shrimp, cherry tomatoes, and pistachios! The portions are so generous that last time we went, we had to have the leftovers wrapped up to eat the next day (and they were still delicious!) because we'd had too much on the appetizers (a mix of Sardinian cheeses served with honey and carasau bread). Unfortunately, we can only go there when we're on vacation, but it's a regular for us! Highly recommended!

First off, this was the best meal we had in our week in Sardinia and we tried lots of places at several price points. They don’t speak almost any English but honestly, we both understood what the other wanted and had a wonderful night. We paid around 80$ for two plates of pasta and a steak, potato’s and soft drinks. Everything was beyond delicious, and portions were huge, almost everyone left with a to go container. The service was friendly and even though it was busy they still found a spot for us when another restaurant turned us away. We will probably return tonight for our last meal, and I highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for something delicious.
