30/05/2026: We had an amazing experience at Porta Nova in Tropea. The pizza was absolutely delicious—one of the best we have had in Italy. The food is truly authentic Italian, prepared with great care and high-quality ingredients. The service was outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive, and spoke excellent English, which made us feel very welcome. It is rare to find a place in Tropea that offers such tasty food at such reasonable prices. The quality-to-price ratio is exceptional. We highly recommend Porta Nova to anyone visiting Tropea and looking for authentic Italian cuisine, great pizza, and excellent service. We will definitely return on our next visit! 01/06/2026: For us, this is the best restaurant in Tropea. We completely understand the many positive reviews, but we simply don't understand the few negative ones. The menu is extensive and offers something for everyone – whether you're looking for fish, meat, or an excellent, high-quality pizza. The value for money is outstanding. Despite the large number of customers, you're always served with warm Italian hospitality and friendliness. Every time we're in Tropea, we eat here at least twice, often even more often. A definite recommendation and an essential part of every Tropea vacation.

19/10/2025: “Incipit” is almost a hidden gem, tucked away from the busy High Street and tourist-heavy areas. This spot comes highly recommended by locals — and for good reason. It has a gorgeous outdoor terrace with views over the piazza, but the real wow factor comes when you choose to dine indoors… in the cave! Yes, a beautifully lit, cosy cave with an incredible atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel special. The service was exceptional — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The menu is fantastic, offering a perfect mix of local favourites and creative twists. We went all out and enjoyed the full experience: antipasto, primo, and secondo. The tuna tartare was outstanding, bursting with freshness and flavour. I had the Fileja al ’Nduja ragu, which was absolutely mind-blowing — and high on my Calabria culinary wish list. My partner chose the hazelnut risotto, which was equally exceptional. For mains, I had the pistachio-crusted seabass while my partner had the cod — both dishes beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended if you want an authentic, high-quality dining experience away from the tourist traps. Grazie mille per il fantastico servizio 🙏👌👏

01/11/2025: Very cute restaurant! I went twice and sat on the terrace. I had a pizza and the other day the filej pasta with cipolla rossa and caponata tropeana. Everything was delicious and service was excellent, she even remembered my special dietary requirements from the time before.

24/03/2026: Tropea, Lido Costa degli Dei, "Coast of the Gods" is a very nice small town beach. It has a beautiful sandy beach, located at the foot of the sanctuary of Santa Maria Dell Isola, a great place for a cloudless and sunny holiday.

01/02/2026: We were there in September 2025 and I just found myself thinking about it again tonight. The service was lovely, the wine was excellent, and the view was unforgettable. Such a great spot for a date — beautiful atmosphere and an all-around wonderful experience.

17/05/2026: So we actually never wanted to sit and eat at this restaurant,our goal was' IL BISTROT CALABRESE '. They belong together however we were basically lured and sat down and given the menu that's 3x more expensive (like fine dining more or less) without even being told that it's another restaurant.The food is good, portions kinda small,prices overboard for what you receive. Fine if you want 'influencer vibes',but still a tourist trap.

05/05/2026: On a side street off Via Garibaldi in Tropea, away from the hustle and bustle, there's a small, family-run Osteria called "Le Volpi e l'Uve," which someone recommended. We don't regret going there. The food is amazing. Above all, it's homely. A family atmosphere. The owner, Mimmo, is incredibly friendly. The best fileja e 'nduja in all of Tropea. I've never had it as good as this one. My wife also enjoyed the seafood pasta. If you want to experience the flavor and feel of southern Italy, I highly recommend this place.

12/05/2026: We ate here twice during our holiday. The staff is always attentive and the pizza is delicious. The prices are very reasonable, as is the Aperol. We never had to wait long. A definite recommendation from us! 👍🍕

11/05/2026: Very nice and friendly staff, helpful with the selection. The drinks (Spritz) were all very good and tasty. We really enjoyed the food; the appetizers and pizza are highly recommended. We spent three hours there and would definitely come back.
