03/03/2026: I don't understand the other reviews; they must be confusing it with another restaurant... The lunch special tells you that you have to eat everything or you'll pay more, which is fine to avoid waste, but unfortunately, none of the dishes had any flavor; everything was bland or even too greasy.
You're asked to order your dishes in a specific order, but everything arrives randomly.

27/02/2026: I was truly disappointed by my experience at Mondino Bakery. I bought a small piece of focaccia for €1.50, expecting at least something decent, but unfortunately, I was in for a nasty surprise.
The focaccia was as heavy as lead. From the first bite, I understood why: it felt like a sponge soaked in oil that practically squished in my mouth. A truly unpleasant sensation. The oil, among other things, had a flavor that struck me as very poor quality, especially in the crust, which was even heavier.
What left me perplexed was that there was an entire pan under the counter. I specifically asked for a center piece, but was told there were none left, and was given only the crust. Considering the pan was there, the answer seemed opaque.
I truly felt "ripped off," and, in 30 years, it's the first time I've thrown away a focaccia. And to think I already drank the engine oil this morning... I certainly didn't need a second helping!
A decidedly negative personal experience. I don't think I'll be back.

12/10/2025: After the festival, we went to this pizzeria. It was old and outdated, to say the least, and very, very basic. However, after reading the reviews, we trusted it. BUT, we were wrong; they brought us reheated fries. The pizza was worse, toasty, and the toppings were very poor. Those of us who had this experience can honestly say we've never had such a bad pizza. We think this pizzeria could go out of business. I won't say anything else.

10/03/2026: Visited early March. We got marocchino, canoli and a toast. It was the only few options open early so overall it was good. The location is good though as it was right by the market so it’s a great place to people watch and drink coffee

11/11/2025: Restaurant service was too slow, the staff were untrained but friendly, the food was disappointing: poor quality, with frozen fries and vegetables consisting of just two slices of eggplant, overcooked and unsalted sea bream, and no appetizers (which is typical in Italy). It's a shame because this establishment was very good under the previous owners.
27/10/2025: A pleasant restaurant located on a newly renovated, quiet square on the plateau of the old town with a stunning view of the harbor. It's a lovely place to relax in the sun on the concrete benches. Accessible on foot through the beautiful alleys of the old town or by elevator, which ascends through the car and pedestrian tunnel beneath the old town. We originally only wanted a drink, but then decided to have a bite to eat: grilled anchovies and grilled vegetables. Very tasty and reasonably priced. Friendly service, and an authentic chef who came to our table for a brief chat.

Endroit sale, ambiance désagréable. Ma fille a accidentellement sali une fourchette en jouant avec un bonbon fructis , et la responsable a refusé de la garder après , sous prétexte que ce n’était « pas son problème et que un enfant de 3 ans fais pas ça »… Résultat : elle m’a fait payer la fourchette et le couteau

Comme si ça ne suffisait pas, elle nous a aussi facturé 5€ par personne pour les couverts, ce qui n’était indiqué nulle part. Et au moment de payer, c’était encore pire : je voulais régler en espèces, mon amie en carte, et là, la gérante a littéralement fait un scandale, refusant qu’on paie séparément.
Franchement, j’ai voyagé dans pas mal de pays, mais je n’ai jamais vu un service aussi désagréable et irrespectueux. Très mal accueillis, aucune flexibilité, aucune politesse.
Le seul point positif ? C’est proche de la gare. Mais franchement, même gratuit, je n’y retournerais pas.

N’y allais pas la gérante très vulgaire et agressive nous a insulté en italien parce qu’un enfant de 4 ans a sali ses couverts et nous les a fait payer… la nourriture etait très médiocres et les fruits de mer pas frais … vraiment trees choquant et très mauvaise expérience… limite raciste vous êtes en Italie ici il faut parler italien!?! Quelle honte

23/11/2025: McDrive is also open late at night until 3:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. No restaurant, just McDrive. We dined around 1:30 AM. The location is convenient, but the crispy fries were completely without sauce and half raw. Friendly and helpful staff, fast service.

I was served cream meat when I was offered rice with mushrooms without cream in front of the restaurant. I am called a liar by telling me that I have not reported my lactose intolerance when I have! €14 for a slice of cold meat with cream on top and served without accompaniment. It's a scandal, truly a restaurant to flee. Result: I DID NOT EAT AT NOON and we were made to pay for the dish that I cannot eat because of my intolerance.

03/09/2025: On a family vacation in Monaco, we went for a stroll in Ventimiglia. Since this restaurant is next to the train station, it was only natural that we went there for lunch upon arrival. Huge disappointment.
Although the woman who served us was very kind, the service was extremely slow (more than 30 minutes to receive our food when the restaurant was almost empty), and two out of three dishes were really not good and gave the impression of being nothing more than low-end frozen food.
In short, for the price we paid (over €70), you can find much better.

The dish didn't match the description (grilled sausages with fries and salad). It consisted of four pieces of sausage on two wilted lettuce leaves, with no other side dish.
I returned my plate, saying I wanted the grilled vegetables I'd ordered alongside my sausage. They told me the vegetables were in the oven cooking!
My husband had finished his meal when mine finally arrived! For €17 (€12 for the sausage and €5 for the grilled vegetables, consisting of a few thin slices of zucchini and carrots arranged in a star shape on a dessert plate... and practically raw!), and upon my complaint, a small plate of fries, I tried to settle for the bread: stale and inedible! We quickly asked for the bill: €44 for what we ate seemed excessive. They refused to give us the bill, and when I asked again at the counter, I realized that the bottle of tap water was extra, plus the cutlery, plus an exorbitant price for homemade sparkling water. I expressed my dissatisfaction and was met with a cantankerous woman who said hurtful things to me in Italian, witnessed by all the other customers and passersby. We left determined never to return and advised others not to go.
08/01/2026: We had lunch at this restaurant last Friday and, as expected, the vegetarian pizza and lasagna were very good and the prices were reasonable. I recommend it.
