Very kind staff, pleasant atmosphere and above all excellent food!!!

Open for many years, very close to both the train station and the city center. Spacious restaurant, busy with tourists in the summer. The menu is mostly seafood and Ligurian dishes, but there are also a few meat dishes—nothing exceptional, and the desserts are decent. Not suitable for allergy sufferers or celiacs. The service is a bit basic, the staff aren't always friendly and helpful (just read their responses to reviews, a little tact wouldn't hurt). A couple of times, they even seemed a little annoyed by card payments...you get the idea. Prices are average for Ventimiglia in summer, and the quality/price ratio isn't great. Let's just say there are some excellent, top-notch seafood restaurants in the area; you'll find them here when passing through or when the others are closed.

Fast service, good food. Lunch break with: Octopus with potatoes, dessert, and a half-cup sparkling coffee for two, €55. Located right next to Ventimiglia station, there's a station parking lot, but it's hard to find a spot.

Simple restaurant near the station with only Italian-speaking staff, WONDERFUL food, swordfish with tomatoes, small green olives and capers, delicious! 💕

A hidden gem near Ventimiglia Station. Authentic flavors that have nourished the stomachs of railway workers! We visited "Dopolavoro Ferroviario," located right next to Ventimiglia Station, which has its roots in a former welfare facility for railway workers. It's a far cry from tourist-oriented restaurants; we were amazed by its incredible value and quality, loved by locals. Exquisite Ligurian Cuisine: The "Trofie Genovese" that arrived was truly authentic, with the fresh aroma of basil and the traditional combination of potatoes and green beans being superb. The sauce clung perfectly to the chewy pasta, making each bite a delightful experience. And the "Fried Seafood and Vegetables" featured surprisingly fresh and plump shrimp and squid. Lightly battered and crispy, the natural sweetness of the ingredients stood out. Both dishes were generously portioned, and you could feel the professional pride in each one. A historic "railway worker's retreat": "Dopolavoro Ferroviario" originally meant a welfare facility for railway workers. Therefore, it has a nostalgic and warm atmosphere, and its greatest charm lies in the fact that you can enjoy excellent cuisine in an unpretentious setting. Superb location: Located right in front of the station, it's perfect for lunch during travel. And yet, the quality of the food is exceptional... If you're coming to Ventimiglia, this place is definitely worth making a special trip for. Enjoying lunch under the orange roof, feeling the sea breeze, was wonderful. It's such a fantastic restaurant that you'll want to stay for several nights and try every item on the menu!
