02/05/2025: My experience at Il Focacciaio in Rapallo was unacceptable on multiple levels. I arrived about 30 minutes before dinner service and was told by the waitress that they would open around 7–7:30 pm. I waited patiently nearby.
To my dismay, I watched several white customers walk in before the stated opening time and get seated and served, while I — a brown-skinned guest — was ignored entirely. I wasn't even offered a menu. The discrimination was blatant and extremely upsetting. No one should have to feel unwelcome or invisible simply because of their skin color.
When I was finally seated, the food unfortunately didn’t make up for the experience. I ordered a prosciutto e funghi pizza, which lacked flavor, and the ham and mushrooms seemed undercooked. It just didn’t meet the standards I’ve come to expect in Italy.
There are many wonderful places to eat in Rapallo where guests are treated kindly and served quality food. Sadly, Il Focacciaio fell far short on both counts. I would not recommend it.

25/04/2025: We had an amazing stay in Hotel Delle Rose!
We were 3 and got one of the biggest room: one king sized bed and a single bed in the main room and a single bed in the other room.
Everything was perfectly clean.
If you’re looking for a restaurant, the Hotel is partnering with one (spécial menu for guest) and you can directly book through the reception.
Our host was really nice and recommended us a route to the city to enjoy the sea view/city.
Breakfast is good, lots of choices (especially cakes which we really liked).
We only stayed for one night but it was perfect!

03/05/2025: Esperienza deludente. Dopo aver atteso 20 minuti prima che qualcuno venisse a prendere l’ordinazione, nonostante il locale non fosse pieno, ci aspettavamo almeno un servizio attento. Invece i piatti sono arrivati non solo nell’ordine sbagliato, ma anche spaiati, costringendoci – eravamo in 4 – a mangiare a turni.
Il pesce del giorno, promesso in 20 minuti, è arrivato dopo 50, e il contorno di verdure, pagato a prezzo pieno, consisteva in soli 4 pezzi.
Disorganizzazione, lentezza e porzioni discutibili. Peccato, perché il locale aveva del potenziale.

10/01/2025: Posizione magnifica davanti alla spiaggia (a gennaio non ci sono cabine, per fortuna). Polpo e patate delizioso, torta di pere e cacao idem. Il resto l’ha fatto il tiepido sole invernale. Anche l’aperitivo è il vino erano ottimi. Torneremo.
02/11/2024: Siamo stati presso questo locale nel ponte di Ognissanti. Abbiamo riscontrato la massima disponibilità nonostante il locale fosse al completo e avessimo per causa di forza maggiore ritardato la prenotazione. Abbiamo pranzato all' esterno sulla piazzetta fronte mare in una assolata giornata di novembre ed è stato molto piacevole (unica nota negativa la maleducazione di alcuni altri clienti che contavano a fumare ma eravamo all' aperto). Il servizio rapido e preciso, i piatti ottimi e nella giusta quantità. Prezzi veramente ottimi data la posizione

03/05/2025: Restaurant with excellent food. Fresh fish! The only flaw: the place is quite dated, a little shabby and the ventilation system didn't work in fact there was a lot of fried smell. So unpleasant. It's a shame because the food was really excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Good prices, average.
20/04/2025: Came across this brilliant restaurant by chance, the food and prices were really wow!! The chillies are a real experience ❤️🔥❤️🔥 The waitress is having fun and laughing wholeheartedly. We'll definitely be back, keep it up!!

Estimated delivery 1 hour and that's right, on a Saturday, but above all they respected the deadlines and were very friendly on the phone. The meat and bread were very good, but, there is a but.
Out of three sandwiches, one was terrible: mine.
As in the photo, the sandwich was taleggio cheese, ranch sauce and speck, but the taleggio cheese was a whole slice, not melted at all and the speck not even a little cooked, put fresh without adding any flavour.
It wasn't good at all, I'm sorry, but even eating it was complicated.

05/04/2025: Pizzeria on one of the main streets of Rapallo. The space seems small in appearance but benefits from a large rear room. It also does takeaway with home delivery. Nice looking pizza but I found it a little too elastic/not too crunchy. Average prices, I would say rather cheap for a seaside place.

15/02/2025: Wonderful dark chocolate crepe. I went in 2023 on a 3-day trip to Rapallo with a friend and the crepe was so delicious that we went back again for two days. The owner is very friendly. The location is very central and you can sit at tables on the street. Very nice.
