27/03/2025: I went to lunch at this place and I have to say it was a very negative experience. Starting from the fact that for a simple lunch on a Thursday, waiting half an hour for a pasta dish is absurd. Also, the shrimp, eggplant and burrata buttons arrived and instead of eggplant and burrata there were artichokes in pieces and no burrata, it makes no sense. Unfortunately, given the delay in the service, I couldn't send the wrong dish back, but I would have liked to. The worst part was the service, when the waitress refused to make a separate bill, saying that there was already a sign at the entrance explaining that they don't do separate bills and if they did, it would take her half an hour to make us pay and she didn't have time... first of all, it's absurd as well as illegal to refuse to make a separate bill and above all, saying "it would take me half an hour" is embarrassing after having taken half an hour to bring us plates of pasta... not recommended.

01/03/2025: Ci hanno fatto sedere nonostante non avessimo prenotato. Baccalà mantecato con polenta molto gustoso. Lo gnocchetto al granchio era davvero buono lo spaghetto alla scogliera era buono e molto condito ma un po’ scotto. Servizio veloce e cortese. Prezzi giusti

17/10/2024: La location è probabilmente l’unica cosa che vale davvero la pena provare. Per quanto riguarda la cucina sinceramente l’ho trovata molto insipida e priva di gusto. Per quello che costano i piatti e per quanto ci hanno servito, si trova decisamente molto di meglio in giro a meno della metà del prezzo. Molto grave che appena finito il dolce ci hanno chiesto di pagare senza nemmeno lasciarci due minuti di tempo. Peccato, mi aspettavo molto ma molto di più. Non ci torneri,

29/08/2024: The food was outstanding. We really loved it and the atmosphere was incredible. I recommend it!! It was a little expensive but worth it.

05/04/2025: At the counter we ask for 2 ice creams with 2 scoops and we are asked if we want to sit down: we answer yes. Having chosen the flavours, whoever served us tells the cashier to beat 12 euros. I immediately understand that the 3 euro surcharge compared to the 9 euros for the 2 ice creams was to be able to sit, so I tell the cashier that I prefer to eat standing up. At that point the shop assistant who served us intervenes immediately, telling the cashier that we bought 2 "special flavours", so the total is 10.60 euros. I immediately replied in Venetian dialect "Turn and turn, the pieces of the table had to fall out!" . I paid and we left, dissatisfied with the service and also the ice cream. Needless to say, they will never see me again. P.S. Let me start by saying that no one told us that the flavors chosen were "special" and that to sit (without table service) you had to pay extra.

29/03/2025: Teníamos expectativas muy altas y teníamos el restaurante recomendado. El personal parecía amable. Pedimos dos platos principales y dos postres, incluyendo dos bebidas alcohólicas. Los tamaños de las porciones de los platos principales de pasta eran increíblemente pequeños. También nos dimos cuenta de que la mesa de al lado tenía un pan de cortesía para comenzar, y así las seis mesas que llegaron después también recibieron pan de cortesía, pero no lo hicimos. Pensamos que se habían olvidado, pero no lo hicieron - la razón por la que no conseguimos un pan fue porque no pedimos un entrante que era desconcertante y nos sentimos muy incómodos y que nos señalaron. Creo que esto es horrible para señalar una mesa por no conseguir algo que todos los demás están recibiendo, a pesar de que gastamos mucho dinero allí (no es un restaurante barato de ninguna manera). El personal necesita mirar cómo tratan a los clientes. Nunca nos hemos sentido más incómodos.

19/01/2025: El restaurante Ai Mercati tiene como objetivo ofrecer una experiencia gastronómica sofisticada con un enfoque en platos creativos, ubicados en un ambiente que combina a la perfección la elegancia moderna con el encanto tradicional. Sin embargo, la ejecución deja mucho que desear. El servicio, aunque innegablemente profesional, carecía de un toque sincero, haciéndolo sentir algo impersonal a pesar de la atención del personal. El menú cuenta con una selección moderada de platos que, aunque prometen creatividad, son notablemente pequeños en porción. El pulpo con mousse de calabaza servía como entrante era bueno pero le faltaba condimento, y decepcionantemente, las dos porciones variaban de tamaño. El plato de pasta, presentado como plato principal, era tan diminuto que podría haber sido confundido con otro entrante. Por otra parte, fue sorprendente y un poco fuera de lugar - poner ese aceite de oliva para el pan incurrió en un cargo extra. La carta de vinos, sin embargo, es impresionante, mostrando una buena selección de vinos de nicho que atienden a los entusiastas que buscan algo único. Sin embargo, los precios son bastante altos teniendo en cuenta la creatividad y los ingredientes de los platos. Este desequilibrio dificulta la justificación del gasto. Durante nuestra visita, el restaurante se llenó de turistas en lugar de locales, restando valor a la auténtica experiencia que esperábamos. Si bien Ai Mercati muestra potencial, debe abordar cuestiones como el tamaño de las porciones, el condimento y la relación calidad-precio para alinearse con su ambicioso concepto. A pesar del servicio profesional pero impersonal y la excelente selección de vinos, en general, el restaurante no ofrece una excelente experiencia gastronómica. Si busca un lugar frecuentado por los lugareños, esta podría no ser la mejor opción.

16/04/2025: The gondolier recommended this street to us for coffee and good, yet cheap, food in general. I ordered pasta with clams - top, great! We are very happy with the food, espresso. The place in particular. The waiter was the first time so far that someone was somehow nervous and unfriendly. I wouldn't continue on that topic, maybe he wasn't given the chance, let's look at it that way. A warm recommendation for the restaurant...

15/04/2025: We ordered a minestrone soup, a lasagna and a pizza. They brought the lasagna and the pizza but no soup. The food tasted good, but the lasagna was rock hard around the edges. After a while they brought the soup, but no spoon. The waiter was very unfriendly.

09/04/2025: After booking the table and sitting down, we were left to our own devices. After waiting long enough to order, they forgot to bring us the bread and breadsticks (which we requested almost a quarter of an hour after ordering). Two of us ordered the pizza, two gnocchi, two the fried fish and a melted cheese with mushrooms and polenta. 20 minutes after ordering, the pizzas arrived... all in all quite good... Fortunately, those who ate the pizza didn't wait for the others to eat otherwise they would have eaten them cold because after several reminders and after more than 40 minutes of waiting, they told us... five minutes and we'll bring you the other dishes! (And that if we wanted to eat everything together we all had to order pizza) In the meantime, a table of young athletes enters, who after 10 minutes found themselves with a plate of pasta before their eyes (and us hungry). Upon yet another request and after more than 50 minutes of waiting, the GNOCCHI arrived!! Next, the famous fried dishes, one without polenta and one with a beautiful fried fusilli in the middle (I attach photos)! Meanwhile the last hungry boy waited for his melted cheese with polenta and mushrooms which he practically ate out of hunger without even knowing what it tasted like. Pointing out that there was no polenta in the frying, they brought 3 portions (quite good). In order to avoid further waiting for coffee and desserts, we got up and headed to the cashier, where, having pointed out the various problems that had occurred during lunch, they apologized and gave us a 5 euro discount! (And offered the bitters which we declined as we were all teetotallers and quite annoyed). We must thank one of the three waitresses for her patience and understanding towards us.

31/03/2025: Unfortunately, after Covid, quality and service have plummeted. I understand the price inflation but spending 75 euros for 2 fried squid, a quarter of white wine, a mineral water (even flat) and 2 sgroppini seems like an exaggeration to me! And thank goodness we didn't have dessert and coffee otherwise we would have ended up with a nice hundred. Cover charge 3 euros per person and they even bring you dry bread. We're not there yet, it's no longer the place I knew a few years ago. Only the dining room remains, welcoming and pleasant as always.
