05/01/2026: Just outside the walls of Assisi, near Porta Nuova, lies this beautiful property surrounded by olive trees. Extremely clean, the room is equipped with every comfort, and the breakfast is plentiful. Friendly staff, a spa, and a pool complete the picture. Last but not least, there's a parking lot where you can leave your car and explore the charming center of Assisi on foot.

11/12/2025: Assisi is full of wonderful dinner spots, and this one is definitely worth visiting. The bonus? While the best spots are on the way to the Cathedral of San Rufino (high enough to burn all the pasta one had for lunch), this little gem is right by the Portella di San Giorgio (and aldo where I warmly recommend getting your hotel), making it a comfortable option for those who might find it difficult climbing Assisi.

09/12/2025: There was nothing wrong with the pizzas we ordered, and the prices were very reasonable for such a touristy city. Unfortunately, the (young) staff left a lot to be desired: Disinterested, chewing gum, holding glasses of white wine by the bowl rather than the stem, and an unfriendly demeanor. While being escorted to our table, the staff was approached and, in between, "quickly" took an order while we stood behind them in the middle of the restaurant. Very uncomfortable. When we paid, the young man, still chewing gum, was irritated that he hadn't received a tip besides the coperto that had already been charged. He should have tried a little harder to make us feel welcome🤷🏽‍♀️ The outdoor location is incredibly nice (too bad it was raining), with tiered seating, and inside, bright white lighting, like in so many Italian restaurants.

05/01/2026: The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making it feel like being at a friend's house. It was a little slow, perhaps, but we're at a trattoria, so we shouldn't be in a rush (in fact, that's how it should be). Everything we tried was delicious, though perhaps the only thing we weren't entirely sold on was the dessert (torta al testo with elderberry jam). The wine was amazing, as were the liqueurs the owner let us try. For what we ate and drank, we paid a ridiculous amount.

03/01/2026: Visit the location in the heart of the historic center; it would have been easy to give in to the temptation of becoming a typical, overpriced, tourist restaurant with little substance. Instead, praise goes to Maurizio, the owner, who delivers exceptional service like few others, respecting tradition (with a touch more elegance) and at absolutely fair prices. Bravo, well done, encore!

29/12/2025: We had dinner at this restaurant. Obviously, it's not a tourist spot. So, you have to understand that the price is appropriate for what you're getting. The appetizers are good, made with top-quality products. The first and second courses are also made with very fine ingredients. The only negative point, for me, is the cover charge. €10.50 for three people seems excessive.

03/01/2026: Porchetta Fabio was the best porchetta I had on my trip to Umbria for New Year's Eve. I tried six sandwiches at six different places, and Porchetta Fabio took first place hands down, excellent value for money. So good that we went back before heading home after our vacation! Great Fabio!

03/01/2026: How was the food? So bad that we went back two days in a row (the second day specifically). We were served excellently, with professionalism, courtesy, and that touch of friendliness that never hurts, in a lovely place, with a gorgeous dining room... so much so that my 4-year-old son Leo wanted to come back. The quality of the food... I hope calling it excellent isn't an understatement... the platter, mentioned by someone who can't remember the name, considered insufficient, was of excellent quality with genuine, traditional products at a fair price... not to mention the rest: pasta alla Norcina, eggplant parmigiana, gnocchi with wild boar, grandma's egg, and the tagliatelle with both ragù and mushrooms, which my son devoured. Not to mention the desserts... so if you have the courage not to call this a super excellent restaurant... I would recommend... McD.

02/01/2026: The typical dishes are all delicious, with just the right portions (not too much, not too little), and the atmosphere is rustic, romantic, and even intimate/cozy, and I'd say comfortable. Quick and friendly service, family-run, with not a single detail out of place, and attention to customer service, empathy, and a willingness to engage in conversation. The price is more than fair—in fact, I'd say convenient. I'm attaching the receipt so it's clear that this isn't just my perception, but the reality of the facts. The platter I've pictured was full of typical, strictly local products, carefully arranged, beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. We'll definitely be back, and I recommend booking because there are only a few seats (about 40, I'd say). Note for those with pets: I've noticed that dogs are welcome. Be careful, don't be put off by the negative reviews; they're all from years ago and certainly refer to previous management, given that the current one has been open for less than two years.

30/12/2025: I went to this restaurant for dinner yesterday. I had a legume soup and a main course of provola and prosciutto. I really enjoyed it. The service and staff were very friendly. I recommend it.

30/12/2025: We were guests at the Hotel Pax and we came to dine at this restaurant. The dishes were exceptional, not to mention the very attentive staff. The family atmosphere is welcoming. We will return.

08/01/2026: Recommended by my niece, we were pleasantly greeted by a super friendly and accommodating waiter. The dining room isn't large, and we were the only ones there, but considering it's January, mass tourism is down after the holidays. We spent about €25 per person for an appetizer, a meat-based main course, dessert, and coffee.

11/01/2026: During our stay in Assisi, we chose this restaurant for our first dinner. The atmosphere is youthful and informal. The food is good, including an excellent platter of cured meats and cheeses, which we paired with exquisite buffalo mozzarella. The main courses were also delicious: fried meatballs, stewed sausages, and a tender slice of beef. The staff is friendly and attentive.

11/12/2025: Awful Trattoria. Nauseating food. Average service and terrible management. We ordered pumpkin soup that was incredibly watery and tasteless. It also had huge pieces of rosemary that you could almost choke on, and pumpkin-filled tortellini, described on the menu as having caramelized onion sauce and crispy pancetta. Imagine my shock when they served me a plate of boiled tortellini with chunks of raw onion and enormous pieces of pancetta on top, no sauce, and practically raw. I complained and expressed my shock at how disgusting the tortellini were to the waitress, and she politely offered me another plate, but I had already tried eating them by removing the inedible topping, and I lost all appetite and desire to try anything else. Furthermore, we paid the cover charge, but they didn't even serve us a crumb of bread. The worst part came when, after waiting a long time at the register, we told the owner that the dishes were inedible, especially the tortellini, and she responded rudely and accusing us of not wanting to pay. It's astonishing that in beautiful Assisi and in the land of the beloved Saint Francis, people like this can run restaurants, if they can even be called restaurants. A place to forget and definitely not on your itinerary in wonderful Umbria.
