Ristorante Freina

Selva di val gardena
12/01/2026: Freina is the family restaurant where we eat every time we come to Selva. It has an excellent appetizer and dessert buffet, not to mention the always varied and extensive menu. The ribs were delicious.
06/01/2026: Perfect service, perfect rooms, perfect location, perfect culinary experience, perfect facilities (ski lockers amazing, parking easy), perfect entertainment (ski shows amazing), just perfect. And of course the skiing and the town, perfect.

Chalet Gerard

Selva di val gardena
23/01/2026: Very good place, but the portions of the main course, "pork belly," and the appetizer, "deer saddle," were too small for the price. It's a nice place, the waiters are helpful, etc., but if you end up with a small plate and still spend a lot, it all falls apart. I don't think I'll be back.
16/01/2026: A fantastic chalet with breathtaking views Always a pleasure

07/01/2026: Wow wooden aesthetics amazing. Deer pasta was great. Dark beer for starters then Fieno (swiss pine) schnapps to flush it down was great quality. Service with a smile

31/12/2025: We went to this cabin for lunch on the recommendation of an acquaintance. The food was delicious, the service was courteous, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, typical of the mountains.

Ristorante Pizzeria Pranives

Selva di val gardena
22/01/2026: Reservations are essential. Or eat late.
19/01/2026: Restaurant in the ice rink. It offers huge pasta dishes and equally large pizzas; everything is excellent. The owners are very friendly and can give you great advice if you're unsure of what to order. I also recommend the desserts, especially the tiramisu.

Cafè Villa Sella

Selva di val gardena
09/01/2026: Delicious pizza and deserts. We had some trouble in the beggining as we reserved a table for 8pm, however when we came it was still occupied and it took additional 30 min of waiting, however we were offered complementary glasses of wine and bread for all us (6 person) We ordered several pizzas and they were incredibly good. Staff was amazing, friendly and helpful. Recommend coming here and reserving a table in advance, as it could be occupied
27/12/2025: Salad was a joke for the price. Pizzas are good. Service is very slow. Atmosphere is not great. Choose pizza take away.

Restaurant Linder

Selva di val gardena
28/12/2025: My sister and I were staying in Selva for one night and booked this hotel the week before for an incredibly low price for what it offered (certainly due to the low season: €117). The rooms are clean, comfortable, and warm, and ours had a balcony with a beautiful view. There's a pool area with loungers, accessible free of charge to guests, as well as a wellness area offering self-service tea and other beverages, a steam bath, sauna, and shower. We booked a table for dinner and ordered dumplings in broth, ravioli, a glass of wine, a glass of water, and dessert for €61, a very reasonable price for the food and service, especially the staff who served us, who were very kind and helpful. Breakfast is included and offers a buffet and an à la carte menu with many options. One small tip: pay attention to the bill. We had two minor misunderstandings (a drink being double-counted and a moment of confusion regarding the room payment, which had already been processed), likely due to simple oversights and resolved without issue. Recommended :)
22/12/2025: A hotel I would definitely recommend!

Baita Ciadinat Hütte

Selva di val gardena
21/01/2026: For four years, I've been staying at this beautiful hotel in the winter, and I've also been here in the summer. In both seasons, I've had a wonderful time, thanks to the excellent location, the services, the stunning views, the comfortable rooms, the excellent food, and the wide variety of choices for breakfast and dinner. The spa offers ample space for total relaxation and privacy, and a menu of very pleasant treatments!
19/01/2026: Hotel Granbaita is marketed and priced as a luxury, five-star Dolomites experience. It is not and it represents very poor value for money. From the outset, the accommodation felt substandard. The bed linen and toilet paper were both extremely rough, bordering on hostel quality. We raised this directly with staff and asked for it to be remedied; no one followed up and nothing changed. For a hotel charging at this level, basic comfort should not require repeated requests. The hallways and interiors are deeply uninviting. Long, narrow corridors resemble a hospital rather than an alpine retreat, a feeling reinforced by harsh lighting and worn carpets that genuinely recall The Shining. There is no warmth or cohesion in the design. Instead, the hotel is filled with odd, randomly dispersed sculptures and artwork that add to the sterile, impersonal atmosphere rather than elevating it. The spa area smelled unpleasant, and instead of addressing the underlying issue, the hotel seemed to mask it with an overpowering, synthetic cologne — the same scent was sprayed into guest rooms, making the problem worse rather than better. The hotel’s size is clearly part of the problem: it is far too large to deliver the attentive service and intimacy one expects in the Dolomites. Despite booking well in advance, we were placed far apart, with no consideration given to keeping rooms together. Food – the biggest disappointment The dining experience was, frankly, unacceptable. • Breakfast was mediocre at best: limited fresh fruit, dry pastries, and eggs that were inconsistent day to day. • On one occasion we ordered overnight oats — the result was genuinely inedible. • Dinner service was the low point of the stay. Protein courses were repeatedly poorly cooked and oddly paired with strange, baby-food-like purées (clearly visible in the photos). • The antipasto buffet featured raw seafood left sitting out for extended periods, raising serious concerns about freshness and food safety. • The so-called “dessert night” felt entirely mass-produced. Items appeared either shop-bought or prepared days in advance, lacking freshness, skill, or care. One night we were excited to order our beloved Kaiserschmarrn. What came out was 4 pieces of oily, flat, cold pancake. A complete disservice to the dish and cuisine. What made this worse was the response when we raised concerns: waitstaff and management consistently dismissed feedback with “that’s just how it is.” This attitude is incompatible with a hotel positioning itself at the top end of the market. Service With the exception of the drivers and one waiter, service was poor. Staff were often dismissive, defensive, and uninterested in resolving issues. There was no sense of hospitality, warmth, or pride, qualities that define truly great alpine hotels. Comparison matters We stayed at Hotel Tyrol earlier on the same trip and had a wonderful experience. Warm service, excellent food, thoughtful design, and genuine hospitality. That contrast makes Granbaita’s shortcomings impossible to ignore. Bottom line Granbaita is too big, too impersonal, and too poorly managed to justify its pricing or five-star branding. Between the uncomfortable rooms, unpleasant smells, cheap furnishings, weak service, and consistently bad food, this hotel fails to deliver the experience one expects in the Dolomites. We would not return and cannot recommend it to anyone seeking quality, comfort, or value.

L'angolino

Selva di val gardena
16/01/2026: Our experience at this hotel was so bad, primarily because of the owner/manager, who should not be running a hotel. This man knows nothing about hospitality and guest relations. He unapologetically berates, yells and swears at the guests’ children. In one incident, he heard a few children running on the floor above, and then walked up the stairs and blindly confronted the first 2 children he saw, who were not the ones running. He got in their face, used foul language, and threatened to “make them fly out of his hotel”. Shocking behaviour! As some of the previous reviews have suggested, they should make this an adults only hotel. To be fair, the hotel itself and its location on the ski slopes are nice and central. Many of the staff, including German the bartender, Irene the barista, and Kristina the waitress are lovely and hard working… but everyone looks terrified of the owner. Someone should tell him to stay at home!
08/01/2026: Pros: Location, rooms, cleanliness Cons: Restaurant, spa management, high price The hotel is located directly on the Sellaronda slopes, a perfect location for skiers. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-appointed. There's a convenient garage and a well-equipped ski room. During our stay, the spa was crowded with children, who used the pool for diving and making noise despite the signs encouraging silence. As a result, we preferred to return to our rooms to relax after a day of skiing. The restaurant menu is likely geared toward foreign guests. Instead of typical local dishes, they serve bizarre dishes, similar to those found in "Italian" restaurants abroad.
