06/10/2025: Unfortunately, this was a disappointment for us in South Tyrol, a region rich in culinary delights. 1. The first course arrived BEFORE the first drink! We were very punctual, as the chef had requested, so it couldn't have been our fault. He asked us three times (!) which sparkling wine we wanted as an aperitif. It can happen that you forget it on the way out, but then the chef simply has to realize that we haven't had anything to drink yet before he starts on the first course for everyone. 2. The risotto (€19 extra) was recommended to us as a signature dish, but we declined, thinking it might be too much for us. The chef then came back and quite emphatically recommended the risotto, so we almost felt compelled to order it for his sake, at least to share. In retrospect, it was a good idea to fill us up; it tasted very good, although it was no longer creamy, but had already started to thicken slightly. So it wasn't freshly prepared, but was probably already prepared in a bowl and kept warm. You can do it that way, but you can also do it better. 3. The roast chicken broth was delicious and made you want more. Unfortunately, the following courses up to dessert couldn't quite match the quality. The chicken skin on the crème brûlée was barely noticeable, compared to the fish underneath. The venison stroganoff was quite good, but the sauce was rather poor in flavor, lacking depth, acidity, and complexity. It felt like the sauce was thickened with starch, but that could be done differently, especially at the level the chef is obviously aiming for. 4. They should reconsider whether serving most of the savory courses in bowls is really such a great idea. If they stick with this, spoons should be provided in the future so you can get everything out. 5. The team obviously tried to serve all the courses quickly; by the end, you had the feeling they wanted to move as quickly as possible. Maybe that was just our feeling. We went to the Blaue Traube with friends a few years ago, before the "concept" for evening meals had yet to emerge, and we were very impressed; it stayed with us for a long time. Unfortunately, the food didn't impress us this time; there are plenty of better restaurants in the region.

24/09/2025: Very good and very good service! We ate there two days in a row during our short vacation because we enjoyed the food so much! Our vegetarian requests were also accommodated easily and very friendly. ☺️ Highly recommended!

26/08/2025: We stayed in your hotel for four (4) days and I could say that overall it was very good. The hotel receptionists (Lara & I forgot the name) was really exceptional, they are very friendly and accommodating. As for the room, I cannot complain. It was all perfect for me. The facilities (swimming pool, garden area, sauna) are very functional and really a 5-star experience. As for the breakfast, the lady who makes the omelette is really outstanding. It might be simple but she always make the best omelette. The server of food are all friendly and helpful too. Overall the service is outstanding. Also the free use of e-bike wherein I was able to enjoy that much. I would also comment the housekeeping as they do an outstanding job on maintaining the cleanliness of our room. I don't know how they do it, but the room is extremely clean and smells really good. My only concern is the fly. The moment we arrived in the hotel, I saw some fly already inside the entrance. In our room, there were some instances flies enter. Also during breakfast. Maybe in the future, the hotel administration will do some intervention in order to address this issue. I know in winter it is not a problem, but for sure during summer it will be an issue. I know also there are some farm nearby that's why maybe there are these flies. But over-all, whenever I go back in Vipiteno I will always choose your hotel and will always recommend too. The price is also affordable and reasonable. Thanks again. -BR

07/08/2025: Visiting Hotel Freina every year since 2004. In winter for ski and in summer for mountain hikes. Always perfect. Location, rooms, food, staff-everything is superb.

04/08/2025: Another excellent stay at Hotel Freina! The family are so welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. A perfect summer holiday destination.

20/09/2025: Nice bar/restaurant by the reservoir. Limited parking available. Friendly staff. Unfortunately, there was only a small selection of food on our visit as it was the last day of opening. Nevertheless, we were satisfied. The prices are a bit high, but not too bad considering the location.

19/09/2025: Initially disappointed because there was no pizza. As a second option, I chose the spinach spaetzle with gorgonzola and walnuts; it was delicious! Great atmosphere, beautiful view, and friendly people.

07/10/2025: An excellent holiday spent in this wonderful hotel. Enchanting place, easily accessible, strategic location. Room with a whirlpool tub and a spectacular view. Breakfast was plentiful and catered for all needs, and for this I wanted to thank Mrs. Eugenia for her exquisite and attentive service. Good spa treatment. Top-quality food in the restaurant. The only flaw I'd like to point out is that the management should pay more attention to the cleanliness and layout of the rooms. Everything else was EXCELLENT. We'll be back very soon.

07/10/2025: A very nice hotel. Rustic yet modern. Friendly and helpful staff. A special highlight is the fantastic sauna, which can be booked for €5 per person.

29/09/2025: Craft brewery with an adjoining beer hall. The selection is wide and varied, and the beers are all excellent. Unfortunately, I don't live in the area (I live near Modena) and rarely stop by, but luckily they have an excellent home delivery service 😃🫶🏻👍🏼👍🏼

20/09/2025: A truly positive experience. We tried several of the brewery's beers. The staff was incredibly friendly and explained the characteristics of each individual beer they produce and offered recommendations. This brewery is unique in that they let you taste the beer before ordering (a highly appreciated feature). We also had a very good sandwich with the beers. We'll be back.

21/09/2025: A truly lovely restaurant, meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail, with a terrace overlooking the pedestrian street. The staff is incredibly friendly, and although the atmosphere is refined, it's not stuffy, making it a truly enjoyable evening. We were there for my birthday and had a truly delicious meal. The dishes are varied, both meat and fish, the bread is delicious, and the desserts are truly remarkable. At the end, they even brought me a small cake with a candle. Last but not least, the value for money is excellent. Highly recommended.

16/09/2025: Good evening, I'd like to share my experience at this very fine restaurant. Let's start by saying that the hospitality and politeness of the staff were very welcome. I could say that not all the locations I've been to could be compared. The cleanliness and preparation in offering and setting the tables were exemplary. The dishes were beautifully presented, and as they say, appearance counts. I had the "I make it myself" experience, a series of tastings that was comprehensive. The dishes were presented and the timing between each course was well thought out. The wine to accompany our experience, so as not to overshadow any of the flavors of the various courses offered, was appropriate and well-chosen. At the end of the dinner, we savored a tasty and fine brandy, which concluded the experience in a decidedly satisfying way. I'd like to compliment the owner, Nicola, for his management and his non-invasive presence in accompanying us throughout our complete experience. 100% recommended

A rustic atmosphere, stellar cuisine, and excellent service. There's no point in nitpicking, it's simply excellent. Congratulations.

28/09/2025: I stumbled upon it by chance while strolling through Arco. I was looking for something sweet and came across this little bar. I asked for a slice of tiramisu and they told me it was homemade. So, to my great surprise, they were quick. And the tiramisu was very good, and the owners were very kind. I'll definitely be back.

27/09/2025: It was a truly wonderful stay at Pachers. The hotel is run with great passion by the Huber family; they, along with their incredibly friendly and competent staff, give the hotel its soul. We felt incredibly comfortable, well looked after, and very appreciated as guests. We highly recommend the cuisine, including breakfast and half-board. All food and drinks are of very high quality in both product and preparation. A varied breakfast buffet, coffee, and egg dishes are served at your table, making for a great start to the day. And by dinner, at the latest, with the half-board option, you'll know you've arrived in a gourmet haven. Regional and international dishes are excellently prepared and perfectly served. A four-course menu (printed menu) is offered daily, with several optional choices per course. Half-board also includes the so-called "Prositpaket" (Prosit package), e.g., soft drinks, sparkling wine, house wine (white or red), etc. We loved the dinners and looked forward to them every day. The ambience, furnishings, and decor in the restaurant are very pleasant. The distance between the tables allows for privacy, and cloth table linens are a given. The rooms—we stayed in the Wilhelm type—are well-designed, spacious, and have a cozy ambiance. There is a balcony overlooking the vineyard. The spa area is small and adequate for the number of rooms; however, the pool is only partially suitable for swimming (due to its shape and size). You can take a lovely walk to Brixen on foot (about 30 minutes) or rent bicycles free of charge from the hotel. Parking is available free of charge directly at the hotel. The Brixen Card, which the hotel provides free of charge, is also great; it includes several cost-intensive activities, such as the cable car to the Plose. We believe that the Pachers was already at this location before the expansion of Strada Statale No. 12, which runs directly past the hotel, and that this expansion road was built directly in front of it. Be that as it may, this road unfortunately brings with it noise and air pollution, as it is used by many large and small vehicles during the day, and the posted speed limit of 50 km/h is not always adhered to. At night, it is significantly less busy. Perhaps the regional authorities will implement feasible noise protection measures in due time.

19/09/2025: We've now eaten at the Winklerhof twice. On our first visit, we were absolutely thrilled: the roast beef was cooked to perfection, the roast potatoes were the best we've ever eaten, and the carpaccio was also outstanding. Only the soup wasn't quite to my taste, but overall it was a real highlight. We returned with these impressions on the last evening of our stay – unfortunately, this time with mixed results. The most expensive red wine on the menu was served significantly too cold, the roast beef was only lukewarm, and the roast potatoes had little to do with "roasty." The seat by the doorway to the kitchen was also less than comfortable, despite having reserved in advance. That was a shame, as we had planned the evening with high expectations as a pleasant end to the evening and left somewhat disappointed. We would like to emphasize, however, that the manager took our criticism seriously and waived the main course for us. A snarky "I'll excuse you if you didn't enjoy it" in response to a very constructive criticism didn't make up for the evening. We understand the stress and criticism. But we did talk about the direct comparison. And mentioned our unfulfilled expectations. Please note: We still paid €40 for the main course in cash, as we felt this gesture was very fair and it was important to us to properly appreciate the food. Overall, we're left with a mixed impression: one a spectacular experience, the other rather mediocre. We hope that next time it will reach the quality of the first evening, because the potential is undoubtedly there, as the junior manager also conveyed to us. We still extend our sincere thanks...but unfortunately, we can't award 5 stars for such different evenings! --
