31/08/2025: Came here for a friend’s wedding. Although the wedding was great the hotel experience was rather underwhelming.
The rooms had mould and rust, the basic housekeeping wasn’t done so we were left without additional toilet paper and drinkable water.
The price included breakfast but lunch menu was overpriced for the amount and quality of food.
The drive there is also very turbulent and has a lot of turns so most of the guests mentioned feeling very nauseous.

08/09/2025: I have eaten all of the world and reviewed many places. I truly believe this meal is my favorite! The food was extraordinary. The experience was extraordinary. This was like getting invited into this family's home and experiencing a form of art! Extraordinary! Bravo!

29/07/2025: Simone and Alessio are amazing hosts and they have created a truly special place. The whole house is beautifully decorated with so much attention to detail, the rooms are great and there is also a wonderful garden to relax. If you have the chance, stay on a Saturday and join them for dinner, it's absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is great. I can't recommend this place enough and I will definitely come back.

22/08/2025: Uncomplicated, delicious, and affordable.
The friendly owner, a one-man show, delivers authentic pizza to take away or enjoy inside. A selection of drinks is also available. It doesn't get any more uncomplicated than this. But if you want to sit comfortably for a long time and are looking for service, this is the wrong place. The pizzas are fantastic!

04/08/2025: A pleasant and well-maintained hotel offering a comfortable stay. However, the pricing feels somewhat excessive given the overall value provided. The location is adequate, though noticeably removed from the city's more vibrant and desirable attractions, which may pose a slight inconvenience for those wishing to explore the area more easily.
24/07/2025: Parking is available on site. Luggage is delivered to and from the room by a service.
The complex consists of a 12th-century monastery and other outbuildings. The room is large, clean, and well-equipped. Personally, I missed having a wardrobe to unpack my suitcase. However, we were there for almost a week. Most visitors only stay two to three nights. The outdoor pool is absolutely fantastic. There are plenty of loungers, as long as they aren't double-booked by Americans (sun and shade). We didn't use the rest of the spa area; we were always out and about. The staff is nice and friendly. Breakfast is served on the terrace in good weather, and the selection is good.
Now for the negatives: the dinner could definitely be better in terms of quality. We tried the food twice and were disappointed both times. The steak was tough for us, and the steak was tough for the next table two days later. One even went back to the kitchen. My pasta with ragu tasted more like a snack bar.
I've been passionate about cooking authentic Italian food for years. I buy authentic Italian products. The food was a complete disappointment. We hadn't expected anything different. We weren't even asked for our opinion at checkout. Nobody seemed to care.
Summary: Top-notch facilities and staff, dinner in the village or on the go.

18/05/2025: Difficilmente lascio recensioni, nel bene o nel male tendo a non esprimermi. Ma oggi mi sento in dovere di fare gli elogi per un pranzo buonissimo. Servizio e gentilezza di prim'ordine. Il prezzo in linea con la qualità e il servizio.
Consiglio vivamente!
12/05/2025: Como canadiense que visitó la Toscana por primera vez, me impresionó encontrar anfitriones acogedores, excelentes cortes de carne cocinados en coordinación con la experiencia de un carnicero y un servicio educado y oportuno!

16/08/2025: Incredible fine dining experience. Impeccable attention to detail with the food and service. I wish I could have had 4x the fagiolini spaghetti with rosemary and bay leaf “fairy” dust. Ambiance dining amongst the 4 walls of a castle is unparalleled. Service ten stars. Wonderful final dinner to finish our time in Tuscany. Enjoy every moment created amongst the Tuscan stars.

Antonio Iacoviello was Head Chef at Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura for four years, a restaurant that earned a Michelin star just a few months after opening. He's now embarked on a new gastronomic adventure at Ristorante Il Pievano, located inside Spaltenna Castle, where we dined last night.
We chose the chef's freehand tasting menu, where his extensive experience and expertise shine through, offering dishes with an incredible balance of flavors.
Compliments to the dining room staff for their expertise and passion.

17/07/2025: Nach wie vor zauberhafte Kulisse. Kellnerinnen und Kellner sehr unprofessionell. Immer standen 2-3 Servicekräfte laut redend und lachend hinter uns. Als Gäste fühlten wir uns unwohl und in unserer Privatsphäre gestört. Wir fühlten uns ständig beobachtet, aber nicht gut betreut. Das Essen war diesmal leider nur durchschnittlich. Da Carpaccio um 19.00 Uhr vergriffen war, wurde allen Gästen Tatar angepriesen. Es war genießbar, aber nicht sehr schmackhaft. Alle weiteren Mahlzeiten waren ebenfalls enttäuschend, der Nachtisch eine Zumutung. Wieder fragten wir vergeblich nach unserem Wunschtisch, der angeblich reserviert war, aber den ganzen Abend unbesetzt blieb. Der Abend Im Badia Coltibuono war für uns eine große Enttäuschung . Unsere weite Anreise hat sich keinesfalls rentiert … im Gegenteil!! Nie wieder!
