25/06/2025: We fell in love with this place at first sight and chose it as our wedding venue. From the very beginning, the owner was very pleasant and helpful, everything was as we had agreed and he was willing to accommodate all our requests. The whole place is in a quiet location with beautiful views. Beautiful accommodation and restaurant, where you can feel a piece of Tuscan history. Amazingly high-quality wines from their own production. We will definitely come back here and we are glad that we could say our yes here, in the heart of Chianti.
24/06/2025: Beautiful and super welcoming place! We spent a really pleasant weekend: very kind staff, the suite is truly enchanting and excellent food. You feel great immersed in nature and the atmosphere is truly relaxing. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back!

08/07/2025: From the outside, you'd have no idea what a truly special place it is. A great atmosphere and pleasant ambiance. Currently, there's only one set menu available, but it was excellent. The chef and his waitress were very friendly. The recommended house red wine was delicious. Even though it got loud in the kitchen at times, which is not uncommon, this restaurant is highly recommended.
30/06/2025: It's always great here! A hidden gem in Tuscany for us. We come back here every year with great pleasure. The owners are very hospitable and the truffle menu as well as the homemade wine are to die for. Highly recommended 👌🏽

28/06/2025: A delightful little place, discovered by chance. The quality of the dishes is excellent.
Starting from the long-leavened bread made by them every day and served with locally produced oil, not to mention the meat, the flagship...
We tried the pappardelle with meat ragout made with aged meat, absolutely not to be missed both for the seasoning and for the pappardelle.
Not to mention the Chianina burger served with mouth-watering porcini mushrooms and truffle and the meat tartare with yellow fruit and hazelnut sauce, each bite is an explosion of different and perfectly balanced flavors. Congratulations!

28/02/2025: Alessio and Simone, attentive and discreet hosts, gave us excellent advice on what to see and where to eat. Enjoying their dinners on Wednesdays and Fridays was a delightful surprise. The location is excellent for tranquility...a small pool or hot tub would have been perfect.

06/07/2025: Amazing stay and experience at Castello di Spaltenna! The staff were so nice and helpful. The room was nice, well kept and AC was great during the hot climate. The morning breakfast was perfect and the restaurants were great. You can’t beat that pool location and view of the Tuscany landscape.

18/05/2025: Difficilmente lascio recensioni, nel bene o nel male tendo a non esprimermi. Ma oggi mi sento in dovere di fare gli elogi per un pranzo buonissimo. Servizio e gentilezza di prim'ordine. Il prezzo in linea con la qualità e il servizio.
Consiglio vivamente!
12/05/2025: Como canadiense que visitó la Toscana por primera vez, me impresionó encontrar anfitriones acogedores, excelentes cortes de carne cocinados en coordinación con la experiencia de un carnicero y un servicio educado y oportuno!

17/07/2025: Nach wie vor zauberhafte Kulisse. Kellnerinnen und Kellner sehr unprofessionell. Immer standen 2-3 Servicekräfte laut redend und lachend hinter uns. Als Gäste fühlten wir uns unwohl und in unserer Privatsphäre gestört. Wir fühlten uns ständig beobachtet, aber nicht gut betreut. Das Essen war diesmal leider nur durchschnittlich. Da Carpaccio um 19.00 Uhr vergriffen war, wurde allen Gästen Tatar angepriesen. Es war genießbar, aber nicht sehr schmackhaft. Alle weiteren Mahlzeiten waren ebenfalls enttäuschend, der Nachtisch eine Zumutung. Wieder fragten wir vergeblich nach unserem Wunschtisch, der angeblich reserviert war, aber den ganzen Abend unbesetzt blieb. Der Abend Im Badia Coltibuono war für uns eine große Enttäuschung . Unsere weite Anreise hat sich keinesfalls rentiert … im Gegenteil!! Nie wieder!

02/11/2024: Absolute disappointment regarding the food that was served to us: banal pici with tomato sauce, too salty yet tasteless, with parmesan if desired (and this in itself... a serious chef doesn't ask, he knows how to serve his dish!) But the cheese was, to put it mildly, grana padano without seasoning; greasy cod fritters, which only smelled of refried seed oil, they tasted like potatoes but the cod ... didn't arrive! Accompanying mayonnaise purchased at the discount store. Pancakes served on cutting board from salami and cheese. Why? The staff was very kind and knowledgeable, the place was wonderful, relaxing and sweetly welcoming. But the chef? Good heavens, but which star? My pancakes without firmament would have been better!
