22/08/2024: Excellent place to relax in a homely environment, but never intrusive. Friendly staff who were attentive to our needs. We stayed with our dog and they put us at ease. Very clean restaurant and restaurant with a nice menu. Excellent quality food. Lots of it. green space and excellent cocktails. Beautiful lake view, excellent atmosphere.

21/08/2024: I am sorry but this is not a hotel for relaxation. My family and I arrived at hotel Rotonde exhausted from driving the whole day, excited to finally rest and enjoy our vacation in a peaceful family hotel. After dinner the hotel hosted an 18 year old birthday party that lasted until 1.30 am with loud music and teenagers screaming. What a fking mess that was! The whole first floor wasn't sleeping that night, all of us were calling to down to the reception where nobody even picked up a phone! The next day we complained and asked to be put into a different room and the hosts explained there will be party every day with 100+ people. We asked to get our deposit back and leave the hotel immediately. The anxiety and stress to get out of there was too much to handle, bare in mind that this was the first day of our vacay! This trip was planned months in advance and finding another hotel immediately wasn't a cheap find. What a horrible experience, especially for people who worked hard to get some time of to relax. Question: How is this a family vacay hotel if parties are happening on the terrace each night? If you are keen to party you will be very happy. If you are a family that needs proper vacay to disconnect then I would highly advice you to not book this hotel. I would also highly recommend that the owners change the description on their website as its misleading, especially for tourists who have to travel pretty much the whole day to get there.

19/08/2024: Ristorante a gestione familiare con menu fisso (in nome omen!) a 35Euro deciso giorno per giorno . Tutto cucinato perfettamente, gusti autentici, delizia per il palato adorabile come la cucina della mamma. Guidati da Marco e sua moglie si arriva al dolce soddisfatti ma non appesantiti. Segnalo i tordelli favolosi che si sciolgono in bocca, gnocchi ai funghi dormienti delicati e gustosi e pollo al coccio, ma chissà se li avrete anche voi ;) Un'esperienza davvero originale per uscire dalla routine dei ristoranti con lucine led e piatti finto Michelin...

10/08/2024: For €50 each I have eaten much better in other places. Seafood starter 4 courses only 2 were passable, first courses good, but the fried fish rubbery and dry. There were 11 of us and almost all of us were quite amazed by the quantity of food compared to the price paid, also because those who ate the first did not order the second and vice versa. I can't imagine if everyone or almost everyone had ordered a full dinner. A single bottle of wine for €24 and a birthday cake, made by the restaurant itself, which was divided among all the diners. I didn't like the fact that once at the checkout the bill wasn't presented in full, so we didn't understand how much the dessert cost and what had actually been marked, the amount divided by 11 was requested. Pretty good service, considering that we had to call ourselves to get dessert and coffee. I don't know, in my opinion the prices are definitely too high for the quality and quantity, we are in Massarosa ok, but having been to more exclusive places, I can safely say that the place is absolutely not worth the price paid.

23/08/2024: Good evening. We have been guests for 17 years. Top again every year, no matter who the owner or capo is;-) senior capo or junior capo always top. The ambience in earlier years or now in younger years is always appropriate. Thanks for that. I think 17 years of time and again say enough about primo personale, cucina e Capo GRAZIE

28/07/2024: A rustic, typical Tuscan place! Welcoming and familiar, food suitable for everyone, vegetarian and vegan omnivores. A complete menu to satisfy all palates Worthy of mention are the appetizers and the excellent Florentine steak that I had the pleasure of tasting! Honest prices and good service, a recommended place for dinners in company given the size of the place and the numerous seats! We will definitely be back for another tasting.

24/06/2024: The food is certainly excellent and the service splendid, the attention to the customer almost obsessive, what I regret is the quantity. I've seen photos of the large fried seafood in other reviews and honestly I find it out of the market. 22 euros for a handful of squid and how many? 1 shrimp? 2? I'm not questioning the quality, everything was perfect, but even the fried anchovies were really poor in quantity for how much? 14 or 16€? In all sincerity there are more honest places in terms of price/quantity/quality ratio. Another thing that really annoys me is not being able to round the bill to the round number. You can't make a customer pay €33 or €40.... I understand that it's a restaurant of a certain level but in short.... Ah!!! It's another thing! Or how come water is spilled at some tables and we don't?

23/07/2024: A fantastically nice pizzeria that is well worth a visit. The pizza maker spoke English, so for us it was great. Very helpful with the choice of pizza.

21/08/2024: Excellent bar for aperitifs and large spaces outside and inside.... very friendly and friendly are served daily together with the aperitifs

There are several errors in this pizza... the taste isn't bad, but it wasn't cooked well (bottom) above (oven temp.), too watery tomato which wetted the dough, plenty of mozzarella (you can see it in the photo) which weighed everything down and didn't let it "breathe". the pizza. the dough is semi-wholemeal according to the lady who serves it, and the flavor denotes it, which you may like or not. You have to ask for the receipt...

05/08/2024: There is incredibly good pizza here! Due to its location right on the street, the restaurant doesn't seem very inviting. Don't let this fool you! The pizza will make you forget everything! :)

27/08/2024: Undoubtedly the place has some plus points: the panoramic view and the gazebos in which it is possible to eat, which are adorned with beautiful white curtains. Another strong point is the quality of the raw materials they use in the kitchen. Excellent cured meats, excellent quality of tagliatelle. That said, the service is completely impersonal and not empathetic towards the customer, the sommelier's advice is ephemeral and somewhat limited to obvious pairings, the food is good but lacks that something that allows you to remember it or appreciate its originality . Ultimately the experience was positive but, also considering the prices, the place should improve on some aspects.

08/08/2024: Rustic Tuscan cuisine. Bring hunger! Meat is eaten here. As antipasto we had mortadella with burrata and panzerotti prosciutto crudo. The main course was pork ribs (tasty and really hearty), Taglionini Al Tartufo and Spaghetti alla Carbonara (that's not particularly experimental - but I love carbonara and definitely wanted to eat it here). It was all very neat. A recommendation.

27/07/2024: Food is ok, nothing special, the bruschetta is good ;) I found the waitress (woman) funny, service itself was very nice, food came quickly. It's just strange that we were served by four different people.

06/08/2024: There are two questions at the beginning of a possible visit: Do you want to sit comfortably in a pleasant atmosphere, or do you want to eat a fantastic pizza for little money? If the answer to question one is absolutely positive, you have no business with Scacco Matto. You sit more or less in a backyard on beer benches at long wooden tables. But if that doesn't matter, you will be rewarded with a really delicious pizza from the wood-fired oven. I would almost go so far that you don't have to try any other pizzeria in Viareggio. Since the visit took place at the beginning of our vacation, I may adjust this statement later. I can hardly imagine it though. I didn't pay attention to the individual prices of the pizzas, but with three pizzas (Salciccia, 4 Formagi, Gorgonzola) with water for €32.50, I no longer have any questions. A clear, definitive recommendation.
