Beef tartare with truffles was simply exceptional.

26/09/2025: I've only tried lunch on workdays. It's a great place; the food is quick and the quality is good. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. A full lunch costs €13! I'd say it's more than fair. I recommend it.
23/09/2025: From the outside, I didn't think it was so nice inside. However... It's a nice and welcoming place, and the food is really good, both the fish and meat menus. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

13/12/2025: Probably one of the best restaurants in Barga. We loved it so much that we went twice for lunch during our trip to Tuscany. Right in the heart of Barga, the menu is packed with traditional Tuscan classics alongside a few modern surprises (I spotted tacos). We ordered pasta both times and it was phenomenal; the bolognese alone is what convinced us to come back for round two.
You can immediately tell this is a local favorite, which is always a great sign. Even on chilly November days, the place was buzzing with locals every time we stopped in. The staff was fantastic as well, and we even got the chance to chat with the owner.
And the ambiance was just lovely. There’s a balcony overlooking Barga, and I am still wishing we’d snagged one of those tables (sadly they don’t use that space during colder months). Prices felt very fair for both the quality and portion sizes. A spot I’d happily return to without hesitation.
01/12/2025: A historic restaurant in Barga, right in the center, beneath the Town Hall. We ordered a delicious polenta with porcini mushrooms and a delicious slice of Argentinian beef. The quality of the meat was top-notch. Superb service. The staff are always attentive to their customers' needs and, above all, fast and punctual.

29/10/2025: We were greeted at opening, without a reservation, and were immediately served bread and the menu. The menu is simple, just the way we like it: a few dishes, but well-made. We had excellent homemade truffle macaroni and chicken liver, with a side of leek flan. Everything was delicious! The waiters were kind and attentive. We'll be back! Dogs are welcome. Whisky appreciated the bowl of water!

02/07/2025: If you are ever in the quaint town Barga, stop off here at this local spot. It’s a combination of a market, a bar, and a place to eat food. They have pasta (obviously), but other items too. I ate the Caprese salad and my husband had the hamburger (he said it was delicious).
26/05/2025: Fantastic local market and bar! Stopped by for glass of wine while waiting for our laundry across the street.

25/08/2025: Nothing special and high prices. I found the hazelnut a bit lumpy. The ice cream shop is a bit incomplete since they don't make milkshakes.

01/01/2025: Va bene che era l'ultimo del anno, mangiato come un pranzo da operai, musica altissima che non ti permetteva di parlare nemmeno con il vicino di tavolo, iniziata alle 21 e non ha mai cessato.MAI. Pessima esperienza.
30/11/2024: Eravamo di passaggio e ci siamo fermati senza prenotazione e nonostante che il locale fosse pieno, siamo stati accolti con un grande sorriso e ci è stato trovato un tavolo. La proposta era a menú fisso abbondante, e i secondi di carne molto buoni, il fritto stellare. Consiglio a chi cerca una cucina semplice, un ambiente che ricorda le trattorie di una volta e il clima conviviale di famiglia.

01/06/2025: Posto incantevole affacciato sulla piazza, elegante e curato, personale davvero gentile e soprattutto cibo davvero ottimo! Materie prima di grande qualità, piatti della tradizione toscana con una presentazione ed una cura impeccabile ma anche proposte ricercate ed originali. Carne e tartufo davvero ottimi, pasta fatta in casa squisita, tutto davvero perfetto! Siamo stati benissimo, davvero una tappa che merita!!
27/04/2025: Abbiamo cenato a Barga nel ristorante da Alfonso sotto suggerimento della hostess della reception del Renaissance tuscany resort. Che dire: tutto fantasticamente ottimo!!! Il servizio preciso e attento, i piatti belli a vedersi ( anche le stoviglie) e squisiti a mangiarsi! Abbiamo preso 1 antipasto, 2 primi e 1 secondo, a seguire 2 dolci, tutto accompagnato da un buon vino Muller Thurgau... Non potevamo festeggiare meglio il nostro anniversario di matrimonio! Grazie ad Alfonso e a tutta la sua brigata!

15/03/2025: Octubre, 2024 . Éramos parte de una semana - larga clase de cocina toscana con dos de nuestros amigos y otras dos buenas personas de Canadá. Reservamos este viaje directamente a través del sitio web de la clase de cocina de Rita
Nuestro tiempo con Rita fue, en una palabra, inolvidable. No sabíamos qué esperar, pero desde el momento en que Rita nos recogió en el aeropuerto, nos hizo sentir bienvenidos y puso cualquier aprehensión que tuvimos a gusto. Trabajando a través de sus recetas, aprendimos mucho sobre la cocina tradicional italiana y nos divertimos muchísimo haciéndolo. Todo estaba muy sabroso y delicioso. Aún mejor, el ayudante de Rita hizo gran parte de la preparación y limpió nuestros líos después, dejándonos saborear la comida con una copa o dos de vino.
Pero aprender de Rita a cocinar fue solo parte de la diversión. Además, Rita nos dio visitas guiadas personalmente de pueblos y ciudades cercanas, incluyendo Barga, Pisa y Lucca. Añadimos un par de visitas a bodegas, y nunca tuvimos un momento aburrido todavía sin sensación de estar demasiado programado.
Recomendamos de corazón esta clase de cocina con Rita. Ella es una anfitriona consumada y nuestro tiempo con ella estaba lleno de risas y buenos momentos. Siempre apreciaremos los recuerdos que tenemos del MezzaLuna Inn.
