08/08/2024: Good restaurant in the center of Barga. I use quality products with a predilection for those from the area. I haven't been here for years and I must say that I found it improved.
01/08/2024: I was in this restaurant on August 1st, very nice place, very kind staff. We were with dogs including a German shepherd, no problem and I was welcomed with joy and compliments. Excellent menu, superb desserts. Thank you!

26/09/2023: During our holiday we came here everyday to get an ice cream (sometimes twice a day😁). The ice creams are very delicious and the girls are very friendly.

16/08/2024: Avevamo prenotato 6 pizze per le ore 20.00, alle 20.30 ci viene detto che le pizze erano cadute e dovevano rifarle… dopo mezz’ora che eravamo lì a capire cosa fosse successo… alle 20.50 le pizze erano pronte!! Servizio un po’ scadente, per fortuna che le pizze però buone!!

20/08/2024: Since my partner's family lives in Barga, you showed us this great restaurant - a real insider tip! We went to the Apparetivo there and drank really delicious wine and ate very attractively prepared appetizers. I could have eaten my fill, it was that good.
Amateur musicians played right next to the tables in the outdoor area and the ambience was a dream.
The very owner is also very nice and accommodating.
Thank you for the great evening and we’ll be happy to come back next time you visit!

19/08/2024: We were a group of 8 people. The food was perfect except for the lamb dish. Here it was very different in quality and taste. Points deducted for that.
There was a lot going on in the restaurant in the evening. Unfortunately the service was not attentive. We would have liked to order more drinks, but the service staff didn't come despite asking. Hence point deduction.
18/08/2024: I expected more.
Food was mediocre.
I visited many Italian restaurants in my trip and i know Italian food and this was not it.
I ordered 250gr steak but it was more like 150gr.
The lasagna looked like it was microwaved.

29/07/2024: Proprio dietro le mura, all'ingresso di Barga, a due passi dal Duomo, L'Altana è un ottimo posto sotto tutti i punti di vista: personale gentile e rapido, atmosfera piacevole e soprattutto alta qualità delle proposte gastronomiche a un prezzo onesto. Consiglio i maccheroni al tartufo (tartufo vero...) e tutti i primi fatti in casa; il filetto di maiale al pepe verde, semplice ma gustosissimo; i contorni con sformati di verdura e il tiramisù fra i dessert. Ottimo anche il vino della casa. Esperienza da ripetere...
24/06/2024: A refined but at the same time welcoming environment with excellent food prepared with care.
Staff very attentive to customer needs, we felt at ease (thank you for the toys you brought us to keep the children at bay and for your kindness). Amazing fresh homemade pasta, equally delicious flan and side dishes and succulent meat. Desserts prepared with attention and first choice ingredients. The wine is also good. What can I say, on a rainy day you were a magnificent positive note.

Very friendly and helpful staff.
Nice and cool location on a hot summer day.

13/08/2024: Nice little place inside the village, reachable only on foot
The waitress was kind and smiling!
The dishes are simple but good, a super positive note for the tartare!
the chef is kind and helpful! You can feel that the raw material is of high quality and well cooked! The meat delicious and cooked to perfection (raw but hot and crunchy)
However, they wanted Fiorentina and they weren't available! If you promote yourself for meat you can't impose a single choice on us
Excellent value for money! Overall I would happily go back (if Fiorentina is there I'll be there straight away!)

05/03/2024: Cold environment. We ordered two cheeseburgers for lunch which arrived after a long time with burnt bread and ingredients not requested and otherwise of poor quality. Disproportionate price for what we ate. Not recommended

30/07/2024: Consigliatissimo. Posto molto carino. Abbiamo preso la polenta e un piatto tipico a base di carne. Tutto buonissimo. Accoglienza molto calda e ottimo servizio.
17/06/2024: Sono stato in questo locale di domenica a pranzo. Cibo molto buono e personale cordiale. Unica pecca e non da poco è stato il fatto che ci hanno portato una specialità della casa non richiesto. La cameriera ci ha detto 'questa è una nostra specialità e la offriamo nell'attesa'. Era un coccino con delle aringhe all' olio. Buone. Al momento del conto però le ho trovate addebitate e la risposta è stata che loro non fanno pagare il coperto e quindi addebitano 5 euro per le aringhe. Non è per i 5 euro, ma non ho trovato corretto dire che le aringhe sono offerte e poi invece non è vero. Peccato davvero perché nel complesso eravamo stati bene, ma non so se tornerò più in questo locale.

24/04/2024: A nicely managed small hotel with off-street entrance and a comfortable caring staff. A good place to hide away for several days.
