It was 9.30pm, the kitchen was about to close, but the owner welcomed us anyway. Small and essential environment, very nice owner... it's impossible that it doesn't make you smile at least! Fast and attentive, he goes back and forth alone between the kitchen, the dining room and the cash register... congratulations. Excellent quality and honest prices... one of the best restaurants I've ever tried! Crazy tastes. I'm really happy to have tasted my first Florentine steak here! It's really worth it! We also tried the pumpkin, stracciatella and truffle flan; the gnocchi stuffed with pear with gorgonzola fondue and crunchy raw ham... wow! Too bad we were too full for desserts... we'll have to go back 🥰

12/12/2024: I ate divinely. Extraordinary tartare, sublime Brunello fillet. It's my first review ever, but I couldn't help but highlight the truly excellent quality of the food. Congratulations and I really recommend trying it to anyone who wants to enjoy eating!
09/12/2024: We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of friends and I must say that we were positively impressed. Excellent quality raw materials, preparations according to tradition. We had Certaldo onion soup (excellent), chestnut flour tagliatelle with cheese and truffle fondue, gnudi with parmesan cream, Florentine tripe and Chianti tuna (it's pork and the tuna has nothing to do with it) and for dessert the cantucci in various flavours. Overall, everything was really good. The innkeeper is a very kind gentleman who clearly loves his job. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back

28/10/2024: We chose the Cavour 2020, excellent! They have classic pizzas, revisited ones, ciaccini; the pizzas are thin, the tomato is fragrant and not acidic, well filled. The restaurant has few seats inside, but has an outdoor area with other tables. They are also equipped for takeaway. We will be back!

26/08/2024: Patricia and Toni are outstanding hosts. They run this agriturismo with a lot of passion, dedication and joy. The breakfast with local cheeses and cold cuts is excellent. The accommodation was completely renovated a few years ago. Everything is very clean and up to date! Thanks! We'll definitely be back!
27/07/2024: Our stay at La collina degli Olivi was simply unforgettable! Patricia and Toni are outstanding hosts - they were extremely accommodating, friendly, helpful and loving. The rooms are newly renovated and offer incredible views. The service was excellent in every way. We felt completely comfortable and welcome. We can only warmly recommend this wonderful experience. We'll definitely be back!

10/12/2024: Once again, we returned to Ristorante Il Castello and once again we were served a delicious meal. The waiter was gracious, attentive and patient while we visited with friends over lunch.
02/12/2024: We had dinner in this restaurant at the end of November, beautiful atmosphere, excellent food and beautiful place. At this time the garden is closed, but you can imagine how beautiful it must be in summer with the outdoor tables.

15/08/2024: Ottima pizzeria, atteso un po' per il tavolo ma non avevamo prenotato e tutto sommato l' attesa non è stata lunga. Pizze ottime impasto morbido e non bruciacchiato ai bordi. Ordinato una pizza vecchi ricordi con pomodoro, fiordilatte e basilico ed una ortolana con rucola, burrata, verdure di stagione e pomodorini gialli, unico appunto i pomodorini erano al naturale e non confit come indicato a menù.
13/08/2024: The salmon carpaccio listed among the dishes of the day becomes a smoked salmon dish that has nothing to do with the fish carpaccio, nor with the menu of the day which usually offers fresh dishes. When pointed out to the waiters, they are not offered to replace it with something else nor is a discount offered at the end of the dinner to mitigate the inconvenience.

11/07/2024: I had the opportunity to try their ice cream at the food truck at Mengo, in Arezzo and I must say that it is excellent! Really good, strong flavors and not too sweet, and the crunchy cone which is sometimes difficult to find.

26/08/2024: I had dinner with friends over the weekend, the place was very clean, the staff were friendly and kind.
We took pizzas and desserts, great price and excellent quality ingredients. In my opinion one of the best pizzerias in Certaldo, I will certainly return if I find myself in the area. I'll leave photos for you😄

16/01/2024: Wonderful appetizers, first courses in short, I ate super octopus and potatoes as well as the peppered mussels, risotto alla pescatora and linguine with seafood, they arrived dry, fried slightly behind in cooking but edible.
13/01/2024: Great place and great food. A quick and good lunch. I recommend booking.

26/08/2024: The pizzas were very good, with very thin dough. The toppings are fresh and plentiful. Great combinations - also with truffles.
Dessert was homemade and equally good, especially the semifreddo with amarettinis.
The waitresses were very friendly.
You sit comfortably in a gravel garden, unfortunately without a view and unfortunately at plastic tables.

26/08/2024: Visita a casa Boccaccio ed a Certaldo alta, viene ora di pranzo e ci fermiamo in questo locale un pò bistrot un pò taverna, con tavoli esterni adossati al muro che costeggia la via principale e che fornisce una piacevole ombra. L'offerta è toscana, a pranzo non ho visto paitti strutturati, offerti a cena, ma piuttosto una serie di antipasti tipici toscni e quindi taglieri con salumi e formaggi, crostini e bruschette. Noi prediamo i crostini con il patè di fegato, servito caldino e devo dire tutto sommato paicevole anche se io lo preferisco un pochino più "strong", questo risultava molto cremoso e forse un pizzico troppo corretto di aromi o spezie, ripeto comunque paicevole. Prediamo le bruschette con il pomodoro, tipiche bruschette con il pomodoro e un tagliere di salumi buoni in linea con l'offertta della zona; degno di nota il salame con la cipolla di Certaldo. Non prendiamo il dolce e paghiamo un conto in linea con quello che abbiamo mangiato. Un locale onesto che offre una cucina di tradizione in linea con l'offerta della zona, in una location sicuramente che vale il viaggio. Provatelo.
18/08/2024: I give it one star even though I would like to not give it any. Disastrous service and the owner very arrogant and rude. There were six of us and we ordered a drink each and a plate of chips. The potatoes were frozen and of very poor quality, fried with bad oil. To make matters worse, we asked for ONE sachet of ketchup and they charged us two euros. We feel cheated and we will definitely not return.
