17/08/2025: Last dinner before leaving: we chose this restaurant hoping for a pleasant evening, but we made a huge mistake.
We waited a full 40 minutes to be seated. After another 30 minutes, we finally managed to order, only to find out later (AN HOUR LATER) thanks to a reminder that they had forgotten about us.
Moral of the story: we returned without dinner after waiting all evening for NOTHING—a negative experience.

17/06/2025: In vacanza ad Avola, per visitare la parte orientale della Sicilia, città di partenza per visitare luoghi intrisi di storia barocca e dove le vicine spiagge tolgono il fiato, siamo indirizzati da persone del posto in questo bistrot fronte mare dove Tonino e la sua famiglia gestiscono con professionalità e passione uno spazio, dove la buona cucina la fa da padrona.
Nella settimana di permanenza ci siamo tornati più volte ... e non ci siamo mai pentiti della scelta.
L'attenzione per l'ospite, la cura dei particolari, unita alla qualità della buona cucina ed alla disponibilità di Tonino e del suo staff ... hanno reso le serate e le cene passate da e con loro meritevoli di menzione.
Al papà di Tonino un ringraziamento particolare ....
I limoni che coltiva con amore e passione, che utilizza nell'attività, e che ci ha regalato, per alcuni giorni seppur già rientrati a casa... ci hanno permesso di sentire il profumo della sua bellissima terra.

Warm focaccia served instead of bread
At the table, after booking and the dishes arriving, everyone ate individually, not together
The food is excellent, but not all the fish is fresh
Inexperienced waiters are incapable of serving or clearing the table
Empty tables, but no one is quick to clear the table
Four air conditioners in the dining room, but there's no stable area in the room to be able to eat peacefully
For wine, you have to ask for glasses, so as a restaurant room not properly prepared, I understand the lack of staff, but at least the owner in charge knows exactly how to set the table correctly
After everyone ate separately, with the dishes arriving over a 40-minute period
After requesting coffee, it never arrived
Table service management and table preparation need to be reviewed

21/08/2025: The tomato soup with mussels was exceptional, with good food and generous portions.
The service was quick but a bit slow; there was a clear tension among the waiters, and it almost seemed like they were doing us a favor by serving us.
The two girls at the tables were the only ones who were pleasant, smiling, and attentive.
The interior is truly beautiful.
18/08/2025: I ordered grilled tuna for €18 from the menu and was served a slice that weighed about 80 grams. Disappointed... I was left hungry🫤

03/06/2025: I found myself passing through the historic center of Avola and stopped at the Mangiafico bar for breakfast. Excellent pastries (the hazelnut cream is top) and good coffee! Helpful, welcoming and fast staff. I will definitely be back!

20/08/2025: A magical place, easily accessible, but above all, offering authentic, traditional dishes of excellent quality and quantity. A truly traditional Sicilian agriturismo where food and relaxation are the perfect combination for a wonderful holiday.
The agriturismo also has a wonderful swimming pool where you can enjoy a relaxing swim in peace and quiet.

You can eat both inside and
outside, surrounded by the beauty and warmth of Avola's piazza!
It's always best to call to reserve a table. Friendly and professional service.

19/08/2025: Campsite difficult to reach with a camper. Beautiful, well-maintained/shaded pitches, and a lovely beach location.
The positives end here:
- bathroom block with 3 out of 6 working toilets
- in the evening, you can't wash dishes due to lack of light
- unreasonable price (for 5 of us, it was €67 per day) for the service offered
It may be a coincidence, but in the middle of August, the campsite was practically deserted…
15/08/2025: 1 STAR EVEN THOUGH THE VILLAGE IS NICE, WITH WELL-DEGREEING SPACES, GREEN LANDSCAPE, AND A BEACH NOT FAR FROM THE SEA IF YOU STAY ON THE LOWER PITCHES, BUT THAT'S NOT REASON FOR THE 1-STAR RATE.
I give it 1 star because for two people, from 6:00 PM until 12:00 PM the next day (because after that, there would have been a half-day charge), so for 18 HOURS, I paid €40 (CASH ONLY IN 2025) for a place to pitch my tent. The bathrooms weren't very clean, and many were closed because they were broken. The neon light above the tent site was broken. And, above all, I was treated at the end of my stay like someone trying to steal a share of my share, because the owner understood this and allowed himself to be so.
If I had to give one piece of advice, it would be to hire someone to take care of the place and the guests.
Gone, but never again.

16/08/2025: The pizzas were good. The service, unfortunately, was not (the staff were exclusively teenagers). Then came the big downside: we wanted to pay (€30), but didn't get a change (€70). The guys just kept serving us. Even after repeated requests, nothing happened. We noticed that an Italian at the next table had the same problem and was already complaining loudly. Still, no response. I went in and fussed until I finally got my money. The unfriendly owner spent ages searching through the cash register until she finally found a few bills. The restaurant was extremely poorly prepared.

17/07/2025: Esperienza particolare!! Diciamo subito che prenotando in una taverna ci si aspetta un ambiente rustico/caratteristico in tutti i sensi. Questo però non deve compromettere la professionalità e competenza del personale, che in questo posto è tutto dire! Alla richiesta della carta dei vini ci è stato subito detto che i prezzi erano più o meno tutti uguali. Nessuno però aveva richiesto informazioni economiche… nel frattempo ordiniamo. Avendo al seguito tre bambini chiediamo la gentilezza di poter fare subito i primi per i bimbi. Grande efficienza sennonché si dimenticano di uno dei bambini. Nel frattempo arrivano anche i nostri piatti, che devo dire buoni alcuni,scarsini altri e confusi nella sequenza. Arrivano un po’ di antipasti , poi i secondi e poi il resto degli antipasti😂. Siamo sul finire della cena ma la bimba dimenticata continua ad aspettare. Tentiamo di intercettare uno dei camerieri, meno sudaticci, che corrono avanti e indietro, ma niente. Dopo varie richieste finalmente arriva anche il primo per la bimba. Cena finita! Uno dei pargoli però ha bisogno di essere cambiato, ci sarà il fasciatoio in bagno? Ovviamente no! Il gestore ci dice: “signò non si preoccupi lo cambi sul tavolo”. 🫣🫣 E per finire diciamo pure che i prezzi non sono proprio da taverna!!! Concludendo, posto consigliato a chi si aspetta un posto “colorato” a prezzi non proprio modici.
08/07/2025: Os pratos são bem servidos, sempre dá para 2 ou 3 pessoas, sendo assim, o preço acaba saindo mais em conta. Os peixes foram bem feitos, mas a parte dos vegetais estavam sem sabor e nadavam em óleo.
O atendimento é ruim... pessoal muito confuso, erraram no nosso prato.
