08/02/2026: We arrived in town for the carnival. We were looking for a quick, simple meal. It was a very good choice to stop by here. We got delicious, fresh toast in a few minutes. There was a large selection, the service was nice and friendly. I recommend it to everyone.

11/08/2025: Restaurant with a lovely setting and a beautiful view. A simple menu, only in Italian. Access is difficult and only possible by going downstairs. A warm welcome and friendly staff. Delicious food. Total bill was 32 euros, with no details. Price for Pasta Norma: 8 or 9 euros with fresh pasta. Typical restaurant

21/09/2025: This restaurant represents a historic landmark for the city of Acireale. Forty years ago, it was the first sandwich shop to open in this area, introducing a more open gastronomic culture, one that embraced the new trends that defined the generations of that era—styles and customs that have indelibly marked the worlds of music, film, and fashion, leaving no room for restaurant dining. In our view, this historic business is one that deserves much more consideration, often even more so than its more recent counterparts. The reasons are simple: we primarily focus on the expertise, availability, and skills of our staff, elements that are the foundation of any business where customer relations are essential. The selection of top-quality products, which must never be lacking, is evident in all the dishes served, from starters like chips to pinsa (a type of pasta), and other dishes. The clean, bright, and distinctive setting creates a pleasant atmosphere and is ideal for a quiet, intimate dinner, but also perfect for small groups, with the small outdoor deck and the indoor dining room that also features a mezzanine with additional seating. We highly recommend this restaurant because there's nothing spectacular about it, and our vision always reflects simplicity, as our readers will have noticed. Although it's a simple sandwich shop, it has the experience to manage the dining room, kitchen, payments, reservations, delivery service, and all the other services of the establishment, which are always under control. This can only lead to positive results, especially considering the politeness and courtesy evident in discussions between staff and customers, which already contributed to much of our absolutely positive rating and represent a recommendation for a normal, yet perfect, experience in our beloved Acireale. 19/02/2026: Cold first course and phantom service. If you're looking for a place where you can pay gourmet prices for cold linguine in an unsanitary environment, this is the place! As soon as we sat down... there were still remnants of the previous diners' meals and an ashtray full of cigarette butts. It's unacceptable that in such a small place, the waiters could be so distracted as to forget everything, even the cutlery, for over a quarter of an hour, letting the serving dish cool before our eyes: we were invisible to the table attendants. The same embarrassing situation for our neighbors, who asked in vain for paper napkins for their daughter! Space is at a premium, tables facing the street are to be avoided; they're crowded, and the smell from the harbor (far from pleasant) makes lunch unpleasant. A real shame because the food is well-cooked, but at this price, service and cleanliness should be a priority, not an optional extra. What left us perplexed was how everything was weighed at once and in such a rush by the chef or cashier (like standing in line at the supermarket) without even giving you the slightest bit of time to choose what you wanted; the octopus, shrimp, calamari, oxeye, mussels, and sea urchins were all weighed at once, a shame the weight paid didn't correspond to the quantity on the plate. Reading about the impeccable service in the reviews of this place, even though the waiters were completely inefficient, made us realize how valuable friendships can be...

23/02/2026: As a lactose intolerant person, I often have trouble eating a sandwich in restaurants because the bread dough is usually made with milk, or if you remove the cheese, it turns out awful. At La Caverna Del Mastro Birraio, we were able to eat a more than decent sandwich. They replaced the cheese with lactose-free mozzarella, and the overall taste of the sandwich was spectacular. The sandwiches were very large, with tender, flavorful meat. We ordered the twist fries and the sweet potato fries; the fries were crispy and cooked perfectly. And the beer... the freshly tapped craft beer is delicious. We ordered the lager and the red one and drank it like it was water: one sip leads to another. Furthermore, the dishes we ordered arrived almost immediately—just enough time to cook them, as they say. The place is very large, welcoming, and intuitive; in fact, you can easily find the bathrooms and the counter at the entrance. The staff is kind and courteous. Don't forget to grab the peanuts in the paper cone in the cauldron as soon as you enter. And if you want to eat here you have to book.

19/02/2026: For many years, I've been wanting to visit this place, recommended by friends. I finally found myself in Acireale, with the option of staying nearby and trying their vast selection of beers. We arrived and discovered that the table we booked wasn't inside the Caverna, but in an area in front of it; I hadn't been told this when I booked. After waiting so many years, I would have liked to dine inside and have a choice. The meat was good quality. I tried two beers: a dark and a red, both exceptional. There were four of us, and we each consumed one dish, spending just over €90. The quality/price ratio was a bit high. When paying, we weren't asked anything about our enjoyment, and we weren't even offered a coffee. Although, at the price we paid, they wouldn't have ruined themselves by offering two. As I left, I noticed people picking peanuts from a container while waiting to dine. I wasn't aware of this custom, and we weren't even asked about it, as we were new and unfamiliar with the place. Disappointed by the lack of attention we received. It's a shame, I had high expectations.
