The interior is quaint. Unfortunately, the outside is a spartan structure with awnings, plastic tables, and chairs, with barely adequate lighting, which could use a makeover. But the real problem is the staff: unhelpful, they don't make customers feel comfortable. I ordered a plate of spaghetti with sea urchins, which was literally drowned in oil. Remembering the glories of the past, I expected much more. I'm unlikely to return.

Dry and crispy fried food, good seafood salad, lobster spaghetti with too much tomato sauce, the bearded guy was professional, except for another waiter who came out the door behind me more than 10 times and slammed into my chair every time. He didn't apologize once, and the two guys didn't even slam into my chair once.
I recommend this place anyway.

I've been frequenting this restaurant seasonally, mostly during the summer holidays, for as long as I can remember. My parents took me there when I was a child, and today, many years later, I continue to enjoy it. It's a regular stop for me when I visit Sicily, and over the years, it hasn't changed. We always find incredibly fresh products, simple, authentic cuisine that showcases the flavors of the fish without ever overpowering them, and above all, the warmth of the people who have always worked there with great passion and hard work. What can I say? Try it!

We've been frequenting this restaurant for years, and it's always a positive experience. The service is excellent, professional yet friendly, with attentive, smiling, and always available waiters. The food is exquisite, prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and you can always taste the care and passion they put into their cooking. A place where you feel welcomed and always want to return. Highly recommended!

We tried lunch and dinner.
Delicious.
The freshest fish is chosen on the spot with the owner and then prepared simply yet exceptionally, bringing out the flavors of the sea.
What can I say... it's worth the trip.
The seafood salad with "occhi di bue" (ox-eye) is definitely worth ordering.
Delicious raw, first and second courses.
Quality local wines.
To finish the meal, the sorbet is a must.
For those who love bitters, try a local herb amaro 😋

The best seafood salad you can eat in the world is here at La Grotta. That's not a joke, it's the truth!!! Try it and you'll see. If there were 10 stars, I'd give them!
