30/12/2025: Very practical and charmingly welcoming, a mix of simplicity and expertise. Varied menu with traditional dishes and modern delicacies. My fault... I ordered the wild boar and didn't see it was with polenta, which I don't like... It was a little dry, but very good.
24/12/2025: Christmas Eve evening, we're told we're either getting a set menu or an à la carte, so I choose the house appetizer and they tell me it's not available... I order pizza and then ask for a fried food to follow, they tell me that the fryer has been turned off, at 10 pm with the place full on Christmas Eve, I won't add anything else.

25/07/2025: Yesterday I was in Carmagnola to run some business and we decided to grab a quick bite at this pasta shop I'd discovered months ago, before heading back to Liguria, where we live.
We enjoyed the classic plin. They were delicious, perfect portions, and the owner was very kind. Before leaving, I bought a supply of stuffed pasta. Next time we go, we know where to stop.
23/07/2025: Excellent food, friendly service, welcoming and smiling staff. I discovered it by chance, and it's now become a regular stop every time I pass through Carmagnola. I recommend the meatballs in tomato sauce (the best I've ever tasted), and I'm embarrassed to know which one to recommend first, because they're all better than the last! Don't miss the Amaro Carmagnolese liqueur; you won't be disappointed!

18/01/2026: Unfortunately, our experience at Romolo al Porto was a huge disappointment. Despite the restaurant's fame, the time management was unacceptable: we had to wait a full hour and a half before even seeing our appetizers arrive.
Regarding the culinary aspect:
Food quality: Only fair. Nothing to justify the reputation or, worse, the price list.
Value for money: Terrible. Paying €25 for a standard fish first course is decidedly excessive and out of line.
The extremely slow service and exorbitant prices make the overall experience very negative. What can I say... as far as I'm concerned, it's a resounding "no." I wouldn't return.

26/10/2025: A great place for both adults and children, excellent meat, top-notch cheeses. Friendly and helpful staff, and a very kind owner. There are lots of horses and other animals.
Outdoor seating is covered. Highly recommended!!!

13/01/2026: I used to go there often. Yes, I did. I'm writing as a good sushi eater.
After the restaurant was renovated, eating has become almost a luxury. Dishes don't arrive or arrive cold, even after several calls. In short, endless waits. For what? Average sushi and relatively high prices.
And no, it wasn't just "that" Saturday night, because before writing this review I tried it twice, thinking maybe it was just that one day. Well, it wasn't. A real shame, I used to go there very often.
06/01/2026: I visited this sushi shop with high expectations, but unfortunately, I wasn't entirely satisfied.
The menu selection is limited compared to the local competition.
The service wasn't bad, but it wasn't top-notch either. The prices are reasonable, but considering the quality of the food, perhaps a little high.

I wouldn't recommend it.

15/01/2026: We came here for the mixed fried food menu. A delight! The fried food was really good, not greasy and crispy, with lots of options! They also offer a few second courses... A casual and well-kept place with an excellent wine list. Highly recommended!

27/10/2025: I hate to give bad reviews, but I honestly feel like I'm being taken for a ride. A Milanese woman who, as soon as you cut into a piece of meat, loses the breadcrumbs at €16 (a piece of meat for €16?), and the dessert tasted stale.
Lunch total almost €70 for two, for lunch?
An appetizer shared between two people and two Milanese pasta dishes with potatoes.
I'm really sorry, but I'll never go back, and honestly, I felt ripped off!
