25/07/2025: Yesterday I was in Carmagnola to run some business and we decided to grab a quick bite at this pasta shop I'd discovered months ago, before heading back to Liguria, where we live.
We enjoyed the classic plin. They were delicious, perfect portions, and the owner was very kind. Before leaving, I bought a supply of stuffed pasta. Next time we go, we know where to stop.
23/07/2025: Excellent food, friendly service, welcoming and smiling staff. I discovered it by chance, and it's now become a regular stop every time I pass through Carmagnola. I recommend the meatballs in tomato sauce (the best I've ever tasted), and I'm embarrassed to know which one to recommend first, because they're all better than the last! Don't miss the Amaro Carmagnolese liqueur; you won't be disappointed!

08/10/2025: Lunch with friends during the week.
The owners and staff were truly welcoming. We sampled an extraordinary selection of cheeses from various Piedmontese margarines, excellent cold cuts, and an assorted appetizer of chopped raw meat, Russian salad, and a delicious stuffed and fried zucchini flower... top!
A delicious bottle of red wine recommended by the owner was perfect with everything we tasted.
We would have also liked to try their delicious desserts, but we were truly full and satisfied.
A good coffee to finish, and the bill was absolutely fair.
It's worth stopping by even for a more relaxed dinner with family or friends.
Thanks for everything...you're great, keep it up!!!!

31/08/2025: Absurd waits for so few people.
You have to ask for a glass...but the wine is already on the table. They bring you the second course and still have to clear the finished dish from the first course.
They even ask if they can take it away.
I wouldn't recommend it; it looks good, but the service is terrible.
Never again.

30/09/2025: Very excited to try this restaurant for lunch, and loved the very detailed website with all its tasting menus. Quite disappointed to find out only business lunch is offered and although nicely done, nothing worth the drive from Torino. Good antipasto of octopus and shrimp salad, and baccalau for the second course. Please make it clear when the lovely ala carte and tasting menus described on the website are available!
21/09/2025: For years now, we have been returning to Osto punctually, after visiting the pepper festival there in Carmagnola, and we will continue.

28/05/2025: Un angolo autentico di Piemonte da riscoprire
Ieri sera io e la mia compagna abbiamo cenato al ristorante Il 14 di Carmagnola, nel cuore del centro storico, a due passi da piazze suggestive e porticati che raccontano la storia di un paese tanto bello quanto sottovalutato, ai confini delle Langhe.
Nonostante fosse un tranquillo martedì sera, siamo rimasti colpiti dalla quiete del centro: un luogo che meriterebbe decisamente più vita e attenzione.
Il locale ha un arredamento un po' datato, ma coerente con il contesto del borgo, che contribuisce a creare un’atmosfera familiare e autentica. A fare la vera differenza, però, è stata l’accoglienza: le signore in sala sono state gentilissime, attente e sempre sorridenti.
Abbiamo iniziato con un ottimo antipasto da condividere, composto da vitello tonnato e salsiccia di Carmagnola, due classici del territorio eseguiti con gusto e semplicità. A seguire, io ho gustato una tagliata con patate al forno — carne tenera e cotta come desideravo, porzione generosa — tanto da chiedere un altro piattino di quelle deliziose patate! La mia compagna ha scelto un secondo più creativo: Gratin di patate & provola con hummus di ceci, ben equilibrato nei sapori.
Per chiudere in dolcezza, ci siamo concessi due fette di torta artigianale, davvero meritevoli. Abbiamo accompagnato il tutto con una mezza bottiglia di Nebbiolo, una bottiglia d’acqua, un caffè e un limoncello.
Alla fine, con soli 70 euro, abbiamo vissuto una serata perfetta: piatti abbondanti, qualità, cortesia e un’atmosfera che ti fa sentire a casa.
Consigliatissimo per chi ama la cucina della tradizione piemontese, con un ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo. Un posto dove sicuramente torneremo.

14/06/2025: Great bar with very friendly staff and available for every need. Slightly higher prices justified by the very central location overlooking the square. Recommended the aperitif formula at €4 which consists of a mixed cut of puff pastry and cured meats absolutely appreciable and abundant.
From Veneta I recommend making the American portions a little more abundant! :)
