28/08/2025: I found it by chance at 4 PM while passing through Campobasso. The food was excellent and the price was good. The fried calamari was really good.

06/12/2025: First of all, the location is truly surrounded by nature. A beautiful lake and woods surround the restaurant. The selection of food is more than extensive. Unfortunately, there are only 5 stars available because the quality is so high. I would have liked to try more dishes, but unfortunately, I was alone at the table. The cod was outstanding, both with gnocchi and vegetables and fried in batter; the pairing with the chickpea cream was delicious. Service was courteous and timed correctly (neither slow nor fast). The price (cost/quality ratio) was more than reasonable. I will definitely return for other dishes. Congratulations.

13/10/2025: A place surrounded by nature, overlooking the Vinchiaturo lake. The food is always different, reflecting the seasons. The meat is excellent! A lovely outdoor space where you can eat while still being sheltered. Excellent prices! Recommended!!

01/10/2025: To say everything was perfect is an understatement. We had hoped our wedding day would be exactly as it turned out, but reality surpassed our dreams! Everyone working at the Ciocca reception hall, with special thanks and attention to the owners, displayed a kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism rarely found in such a large staff. A special mention goes to the cuisine, the deliciousness and quality of the food, which is something difficult to explain in words...you have to taste it to believe it! We received overwhelming compliments on the authenticity of the ingredients, the attention to flavors, and the exquisiteness of each course. Special praise came from all our guests with intolerances and/or allergies, who were impeccably looked after throughout the lunch and were able to enjoy all the dishes specially tailored to them. Last but not least, for us, a key ingredient for a successful party is perfect coordination between the professionals, particularly between the venue staff and my photographers, entertainers, and musicians. I received not only compliments from them, but also sincere thanks for their helpfulness and professionalism, addressed to the entire Ciocca staff. In short, we hope we've conveyed in words at least a tenth of the magic we, the bride and groom, experienced on our wedding day at the Ciocca reception hall. What can I say...thank you, thank you, thank you!

05/11/2025: I am reacting to a review from a local guide David Greens 3 years ago… Borgo Antico about owner/ chef Filindo is not deserving of your Bird like review referencing him as a Peacock. I politely suggest the title of peacock be more fitting with the latter…These hidden gems and villagers are NOT awaiting for perhaps kick back group travelers they are welcoming, gracious to prepare something of great content upon arrival. Their menus are offered by fresh supplies solely on local forage and seasonal produce and availability. Quality at best. My review is based on 2015 and most recent visit 2024. Fact checked on everything, it is the same and we felt lucky to find Borgo open and the opportunity to reunite with Filindo and experience this mountain top Trattoria again. 25/08/2025: Renovated, with a new location and a new look, the pizzas are delicious, the dough is easy to digest and well-hydrated. Their strong point is the service, which, despite the restaurant being packed, moves at an exceptional speed. This deserves a top rating, thanks also to the friendliness of the entire staff. The prices are fair, in line with the market.

23/08/2025: Unfortunately, the quality of the service and products aren't up to par with a pizza whose dough was too soft, and that's a shame! It deserves another chance. 👍

15/10/2025: I had lunch for work last week, an excellent local veal steak, a side dish, water, and an appetizer. The waiters were very kind and attentive, but above all, the quality of the food was excellent. The bill came to €20, practically nothing for what I ate.

07/12/2025: Excellent lunch, with truly natural ingredients. Flavors you'd rarely find in traditional restaurants. The staff were kind and helpful in meeting customer needs. We found a local beer with a truly pleasant flavor, perfect for lunch. The first course was soup with grass peas, excellent. The flavor is truly unique. The tart made with ancient grains, as were the ciambelline, were both amazing. A must-try, authentic dishes.

21/10/2025: Beautiful place 😍 My partner and I went there and had a wonderful meal. The pasta was delicious. We were there for the Apple Festival, so the entire menu featured apples. The staff were incredibly kind and the place was welcoming. We'd love to return, perhaps even when the weather gets warmer. Kudos to all the staff.

23/11/2025: I went for lunch; I can't comment on the rooms. The appetizer was excellent and plentiful; the surprise was the bread cooked with beans. The first course (orecchiette with speck and turnip greens) was very good. We had a mixed roast with sublime lamb, an exceptional fillet; the sausage wasn't exactly impressive. The service was excellent, with friendly staff. I recommend this place.

07/11/2025: Every time we come to Bonefro, we always make sure to eat at Locanda Del Buongustaio; we're never disappointed, either by the warm welcome or by the dishes made with regional products. We highly recommend it.
