30/07/2026: If you're looking for the perfect burger, you've found it. I had dinner here with my brother and we were pleasantly surprised in every way. Both the burger and the cutlet were excellent. Especially the old Varese sauce.

17/07/2026: The service was very friendly. The owner speaks Spanish and gave us great recommendations on what to eat and places to visit. There are many gluten-free options, hamburgers, breaded steak, and other main dishes as well as desserts. Beer is also available. €30 per person. Highly recommended.

28/07/2026: I'm back here for the umpteenth time, and... for the umpteenth time, I had a wonderful time! Excellent food: the raw fish is excellent, the scampi cocktail is incredibly fresh, and the mussels Taranto-style are simply amazing. Impeccable service, friendly and attentive staff. The atmosphere is fantastic, perfect for a relaxing dinner. If you're in Alba Adriatica, Cheri is a must. See you soon!

18/05/2026: Sublime dishes! We tried both the risotto and the gnocchi, both delicious! Our favorites were the gnocchi with pears, Taleggio cheese, and speck. Highly recommended. Fast service, friendly waiters, and a lovely atmosphere. I recommend this to anyone who loves risotto. This is definitely a great place to eat it. Generous and satisfying portions. You can also order a trio or two of risotto or gnocchi. We didn't order it, but the platter, which we noticed at other tables, looked equally tempting. Affordable prices, definitely excellent value for money!

17/05/2026: Our visit to the Gnoccheria was a real highlight. The food was absolutely first-class – prepared with great care and incredibly delicious. The gnocchi, in particular, were a delight and showcased authentic Italian cuisine at its finest. The service also deserves high praise: very friendly and attentive staff and a warm atmosphere from the very first moment. The beautiful ambiance in the vaulted cellar made the evening even more special and ensured an authentic and cozy experience. We were also surprised by how fair the prices were: for five people, we paid only about €170 in total, including wine and some appetizers.

09/08/2026: My partner and I went for lunch today. They opened a "summer location" next to their restaurant, called "Goto de Vin." Everything was excellent, from appetizers to dessert. If I really had to make a small complaint, the music could be lowered and more in the background, but nothing that couldn't be fixed, and nothing that would prevent us from having a great time. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to eat well and at a price that's in line with the quality of the food served.

06/05/2026: Top hotel in a prime location right on Lake Varese. Super friendly and accommodating staff. Rooms always fresh and clean. The view from the second floor on the lake side is stunning. Dining in the restaurant is also a treat. If I ever come back to Varese, I'll definitely stay there again.

08/06/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Hidden Gem in Varese! If you want to experience true local Italian hospitality, I highly recommend C’era una Volta Risto in Varese. The food is delicious, authentic, and incredibly good value — a full meal for only €13! The restaurant has a large and beautiful terrace, perfect for enjoying lunch or dinner, and everything is kept very clean, including the toilets. The service was excellent: everyone was kind, welcoming, and attentive. The water arrived immediately, the wine was served promptly, and the food came quickly. A special mention to the lovely Spanish waitress, who was friendly, professional, and always smiling. Great food, fair prices, fast service, and a warm atmosphere. If you’re in Varese and looking for a genuine local experience, this is definitely a place worth visiting. Highly recommended! 🇮🇹🍷🍝☀️

12/08/2026: Hands down my favourite spot in Varese. Food is amazing and there is a variety of dishes , highly reccomend fish dishes and the pizzas (great selection of healthy doughs and toppings). Piero and his team are world class

08/08/2026: The food was really good, the service was extremely friendly and very fast. We ate fish, although the pizza looked really good. We'll definitely be back. The prices are really low for the quality.

12/08/2026: We set out to discover the unknown, wanting to try some local cuisine, as Lombards do...with some Tuscan friends. Overall, we ate really well, and were served very quickly! Besides that, I particularly appreciated the retro feel of the place, yet the comfortable tables and seating. I don't know what to say...it's truly a place where the food is excellent, better than many other renowned restaurants (the bilingual dialect-Italian menu alone is worth the trip). To try, if still available: panettone dessert and pumpkin risotto (we went in August).
