14/12/2025: A fantastic experience at Cherì, a seafood restaurant I absolutely recommend. We started with a mix of raw and hot appetizers, all delicious: the raw seafood was incredibly fresh and of the highest quality. This was followed by a spectacular pan-fried dish with whole lobster, scampi, corn on the cob, and prawns: a rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked dish. To conclude, spaghetti with clams, scampi, and bottarga—simply exceptional. A balance of flavors that made the whole experience unique. Definitely worth repeating. Kudos to the staff and the kitchen!

13/12/2025: A refined and quiet place, but equally suitable for anyone who appreciates good seafood. The rosemary scampi are exceptional, without detracting from the rest of the dishes. The portions are large... compared to other restaurants. Something to keep in mind when ordering. Congratulations to everyone.

08/02/2026: Yesterday at noon, I called to cancel my reservation for that evening; the reservation was made at the beginning of the week (oddly enough, because you usually have to book several weeks in advance). The person who answered, "definitely a restaurant insider," pointed out that it wasn't the first time I'd canceled a reservation. I was shocked! What do you have? A blacklist of numbers you consider unwelcome? I couldn't respond adequately because I was caught off guard, but that's what I'm doing now. I'm very sorry to have received such a response, because I consider the restaurant one of the best in Varese; excellent cuisine, excellent value. It's true that this year, to my regret, I had to cancel two reservations. Next time, I'll make sure I don't have a sudden death in the family so I don't have to cancel a reservation, and I'll definitely "instruct" my wife not to get sick in the days leading up to the reservation. The person who answered the phone, I think, already knows where I sent him...

02/02/2026: I won't dwell on the dishes, and I won't dwell on the service. Good food and good service are simply to be appreciated. So it seems easy to give 5 stars to the food and 5 to the service, because I've always had great lunches and dinners here, and I've always been served as I should, whether I've been with a partner, family, or friends. But 5 stars for the ambiance aren't a given. It's not just the beautiful tablecloths, it's not just the cutlery with that knife whose shape I adore. It's not just the beautiful soft lighting that illuminates everything perfectly, the attention to detail, or the always impeccable bathroom. It's the entire restaurant. A place that has become a mirage. If you book for 8:00 PM, no one will ever rush you to leave. When booking, no one will dream of telling you that you must vacate your table by a certain time. At Osteria di Piazza Litta, you'll find guests worthy of the name. A place where you can eat is a convivial experience, which unfortunately is becoming increasingly rare. This is one of them. Thank you Diego and Denis for your passion. It shows. Always, and years later.

04/02/2026: It was a fabulous experience from the first time! The dishes are simply exquisite, very generous. I had the privilege of trying almost everything, from the game meats to the polenta, to the pasta dishes with venison and roe deer ragù. The braised beef with polenta is by far the best I've ever had! The place is warm and welcoming, the staff professional and very friendly. I was struck by the honesty, friendliness, and expertise of the owner. At the table next to mine, she advised some guests to eliminate some orders because they wouldn't be able to eat everything; they had ordered from appetizer to dessert. The portions are indeed generous; if you're on a diet, let me know in advance if you want a half portion! ;) The chef, well... a friendly person and always on the ball, the fresh, carefully selected meats are cooked carefully, the kitchen is immaculately clean, as you can see for yourself thanks to the huge window that allows a view inside. I confess, out of curiosity, I asked to know how the preparation, cooking, etc., are done. :) Highly recommended place, book on weekends otherwise you risk not finding a seat!

01/12/2025: A welcoming and simple place. Excellent food quality; self-service: you order at the food counter and take a seat, picking up glasses and cutlery; then they bring your dish to your table. I only found the side dish a bit pricey (for this reason, I'd prefer all prices to be displayed or provide more information to first-time visitors; there are chalkboards and signs, but if you don't know where to look, you can get a bit lost). Otherwise, it's reasonable. I'll gladly return on other occasions.

The setting is rustic and very well-kept, the spaces are well-managed, and the atmosphere is truly typical of a cellar, yet refined. The restaurant is very popular, so reservations are highly recommended. Prices are average, especially considering the location in the pedestrian area of ​​Varese, right in the city center. Recommended!

18/01/2026: Wonderful atmosphere, rustic yet elegant. We specifically were in a room with a vaulted ceiling and hanging wine racks, marvelous. The service was impeccable, and especially the food and the staff in the dining room were prompt. Excellent food, generous portions, we shared the appetizer we ordered (a normal person can easily fill up if they eat it alone), and the gnocchi were amazing; after all, Pastificio Dò never disappoints... Special mention for the gnocchi with bottarga, wonderful.

08/12/2025: We stopped for a break after visiting the Sacro Monte. We didn't have dinner, but we did have hot chocolate with cream and apricot and hazelnut tart. Everything was delicious, and the staff, even though it was close to closing time, were very kind and helpful!
